What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a morning of azure here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of home made Thai Green Curry on some zero noodles rocked home at 4.5 this am

Another quite warm day yesterday and a pleasant walk down the promenade in the sunshine. It looks as though we may get a bumper harvest of apples this year - not so much with pears and plums. My mother tells me that they had an apricot picking session in their orchard, 12 people came to give a hand - and take away quite a surplus. They now have several boxes of apricots in their freezer ( a big chest freezer in their half sunk bunker like orchard room cum potting shed). Well done MR Southgate and your gargantuan chums for spreading the love - it’s a white flag with a red cross - rather than the other way around - for now at least.

Art bit. I took a photo several weeks ago of someone leaning against one of the bridges in the park, completely unaware of the heron just behind. I hope that your Thursday is a good one - some Thursdays just don’t live up to expectations. Koffy time.

Like you @dunelm I will be having a bumper crop of apples, enough to last all winter. I have never had this many apples before...

That is a great painting of the park. The heron was a welcome surprise for you in the photo...

Thank you @gennepher - we don’t eat apples so I make apple sauce - just apples, nothing else, put into small bags and into the freezer.

5.1 this morning. My sister will be here at 9 to work in the office - so this morning will be a full on admin morning. Hopefully we will get loads done.

Dog walk first - weather looks good for a relaxing amble around the park.

Summer is still taking a sabbatical in Forest Heath but several plot lines are cohabiting the P noggin. 6 years ago today I started testing and recording (7.1 fbg) whilst eating LC. Regime was very LC, often <10 gms, very low sat fat, high fibre, walk, buy exercise bike and weight machine and do 20 mins of one or the other after each meal. (I had read and internalised much of this ). Weight fell off. Yesterday I had verbal feedback of latest bloods - 18 month hiatus - A1c *.* and top line Chol *. Definitely both in normal range so thanks be to God. Not quite humble pie time as this is summer, I'm closely aligned with the PE WOE, Cronometer, supplement and watch cholesterol like a hawk crew. Cals, fat intake and weight matter hugely to me. Can I make winter food for UK work for me and my wife this time? Part 2. Southgate's boys and his Dear England paradigm starkly contrasted yesterday with 2 appearances by He who should be an example. The latter has given up any pretence of being caring, truthful or competent. Part 3. Firebreak - how long and how far off the reservation? A few nachos with melted cheese watching the game last night, strawberries and cherries are still kicking about and 2 Swipeys await installation. Oh, it is Thursday. I don't wear makeup on Thursday 'cos who I am is enough. Loving the art @dunelm and @gennepher. Tinkety Tonk Old Fruits.

Hi all,
Doesn't look a bad day but its not going to be quite as warm today.

For once England had some luck as well as skill last night.
I hope Italy don't show how skillful they are at falling in the penality area.

Our apple tree looks like producing very little fruit this year due,I think, to many frosts here in early May.
Have great a thursday and stay safe.

Tired of waiting for GP to contact me so I phoned for blood test results from June 28th. Must be some rum coves in Forest Heath as I'm apparently "all normal." I know the headline figures but am picking up a full printout ahead of things appearing on the NHS App (eventually). Swipey was - 0.5 out for A1c - I was expecting it to be -2 or 3. Looks like PE is here to stay and y'all will have me about a while longer. Sorry.
That's great news. I am also definitely staying on P.E.

7.10am FBG 6.6. Home made Apple and blackcurrant crumble with a scoop of vanilla icecream is the culprit here. However I don't feel guilty. It was worth it.
Although did start off intending to use sweetener, all through, when it didn't work with the blackcurrants, used real sugar in the apples. Crumble was made with sweetener and pre baked.
Have to say, using butter in the Apple filling was a taste revelation.
Does anyone have a LC crumble recipe? Have tried many times with ground almonds but it always seems either gritty and greasy, or gritty and dry.
Rain stopped play last night with an absolute downpour that put an end to my outside painting task. Will have to get back to that later, ad it's still very wet now.
Yesterday was supposed to be shopping, early at a market town not too far away. However somehow ended up on the wrong road, short of fuel and desperate for the loo. Somehow this combination triggered a minor panic attack and I ended up returning home with very little of the shopping achieved.
No energy this morning, but will have to go again today, if only to get cash for the very useful man.
90 mins later. Still sat at laptop, blaming the cat for pinning me to the chair.

Need to get on, shopping, cash and a messy painting task that was rained off yesterday to finish. This is part of the waterbutt installation that is badly needed and best achieved before the rain stops.

Keep well, stay safe.

Please please post your A1c. I really would like to know what it was.
I PMd you. The ribs and bbq sauce were good last night. I'm so hoping that sauce won't disappoint anyone else who tries it. Does rather need the meaty ribs from W.....se for company though. Rather like Heston's recipes/goodies it is the whole ensemble or nothing IMHO.

John Campbell related a fact on covid vaccine from the States the other day that is really hard to comprehend.
Apparently over 80% + of Democrats have been vaccinated whereas only 40% + of Republicans!
It seems very hard to believe unless I cast my mind back to the Trump rallies that took place during the Pandemic in 2020.

Oh dear. Whether one subscribes to the whatsit up or conspiracy theory of history something very wrong overcame Liberal Democracy in 2016. Obviously it had been brewing for some time and there were obvious agents fomenting acts of self harm. It does seem frankly obscene that two major beneficiaries should have wreaked havoc and caused so much avoidable loss of life. On a brighter note.

Apparently well over a 100 died on July 4th in the States some evidently exercising their Independence day right to bear arms against their fellow man.

The guys I met when I went to the States on 5 visits were the nicest friendly people you would like to meet.

Afternoon all.
Disaster darlings, absolute disaster this morening in Tilehurst Towers.
One or all of us overslept such that plinky plonky was missed and nearly late crossing the covid capital of the south for a bone density scan. Ahh the benefits of long term steroid use.

A 5.6 on the meter of misinformation.

Me and me's got into not a small amount of bother at the clinic, the kind or so me and me's thought nurse said take a chair, she was not very happy when I picked the chair up and went to walk out with it, rushing down the corridor saying I meant sit on it.

The next bit of bother was in the scan room itself, the questions started
" What did you do for a living ". It seems my reply " Retired giver of intimate pleasure services to Ladies and door to door seller of ladies battery powered pleasure toys " caused her a little problem. After the scan was over she said " I have put you down as mathematical or scientific ". Bit of coincidence as I have quite an interest in mathematics and physics, don't understand much of it, but still have an interest.
I await the results with as much interest as I have in the Wimbles of Womberdon and the foot the ball competition which is virtually none.
Now I must depart and get on with real life, remember the non corset stays.
