What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a bit of a misty start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of avocado salad rocked home at 5.2 this am

Shopping yesterday - I needed about 20 minutes but got nearly an hour dodging the crowds. Catch up with daughter and the girl in the bubble then home to get the dining room sorted out for next week. Mrs Miggins is on her way home from Southampton and I have a wonderfully festive PCR test waiting for her as a welcome home gift. I have been told that if it is negative, it plays that Chris Rhea song that everyone is trying to avoid.

No trees today, but a few reeds, handy if you are a certain type of musician. Hope your Saturday is a good one. Take some time to savour the delights of a koffy (or tea if you prefer, or gin - a bit early for scotch though).

I love the yellow breasted bird in the reeds...
(I didn't press funny, I pressed winner! So I've put it back to winner)
Never too early for a scotch @dunelm

Lovely looking hotel. We like that area, so handy. Used to stay in the Russel Hotel. It went down hill a bit but has now changed hands - must check out the Montague on the Gardens next time we head into Mordor.
It is such a lovely hotel. Have stayed in it several times and I just can't fault it.

4th Christmas card...
Well, I think I shall now call these New Year Cards, because that is when most of the recipients will get them. Gives me time to write a longer message in them!

Good morning all. fbs at 8.30 am was 10.9 but I had just drunk a cup of black tea. That is all I am allowed to pass my lips until my gastroscopy later this morning. Hubby's 70th birthday was successful/ enjoyable. Instead of a family get together he chose to invite people for tea and cakes in small numbers over 2 days to reduce the risk of Covid transmission and spoiling Christmas for anyone. A good time was had by all. Enjoy your week-end everyone. :)
Hope the gastroscopy goes well today. A really good idea of Hubby's to spread out his birthday celebrations.

Thank you@Krystyna23040. Gastroscopy done and dusted. No problems found. Now have a CT appointment at 8.30am on 2nd January. Nothing to eat at all before today's test yet my blood sugars were still 10.8 at the hospital. It's a mystery.Enjoy the rest of your week-end. :)

Very best wishes for the gastroscopy. I pray they find an answer to your issues which is easily solved.
Thank you @ianpspurs. All went well. Next step is a CT scan on 2nd January. Blood sugars were tested by the hospital and were still 10.8 despite eating nothing since early last evening. Enjoy your week-end. :)

Good luck, me and me’s had one last Monday, I would like to say enjoy, but that would be cruel. Sounds like birfday boy had a good time. Oh I forgot to say smile for the camera .
Thank you@alf_Josiah. Gastroscopy went as well as it could. Hope your results were good too. Next step in my investigation is a CT scan in the new year. Enjoy the rest of your week-end. :)

Nice to see your post today @dogslife - hope the gastroscopy goes well - good thinking by Hubby (belated happy birthday).
Good afternoon@dunelm. Thanks for the wishes. Gastroscopy was OK. Next step is a CT scan on 2nd January. Hubby says thank you. It was good to have quality time with friends and family a few at a time. Enjoy the rest of your week-end. :)

Good @dogslife that nothing sinister was found. Hopefully the CT scan also goes well. A mystery why your blood sugars were so high with no food. Do you think that it could be stress?
