What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Have just received a very short video call from Dad, organised by our friend who is working on that ward. Dad said that while treatment has stopped the pneumonia advancing, it is not yet in retreat, so he will be in hospital a few days more. Still on oxygen and IV antibiotics.
It was good to see him, but so sad that he is not allowed any visitors.

A blessed relief to see his face, I'll bet
And comfort taken from hearing his voice

So sad You or anyone can't visit as yet.

While it's worrying.... he is in best place for any immediate attention.

Prayers he's on the road to recovery and back home asap :)

Hello friends!

A 5.7 this morning, another late night snacking episode lol oh dear, I'll be starting cleaner eating as of tomorrow!

Hope all is well

Forgive me, if I got this wrong.

But that's your morning fasting score, correct ?

I gave a win...
And if it's after snacks late last night, please forward names, and where to buy :)

Good luck with clear out.

January proceeds one day at a time if slower here in the UK than where @Jojo85 lives. England feels like a country currently suffering from serious buffering issues. Another no Swipey no cry day here which doesn't alter what I eat just takes away the guessing about the real cause(s) of any number Swipey chooses to show. @dunelm I detected a similar air of freedom in a post of yours. My "aspiration" is to prioritise lean protein which doesn't trigger locked joints (white fish and herrings ideally but they wreak havoc with my joints), keep my fat intake as low as possible and hit at least the daily 30 gms fibre target. I need to rebuild lean muscle without causing further damage to my spine and mobility. LCHF was a desperate gamble which having gotten me to 73/74 kgs has left "bills" (non financial) that are long overdue. Keto level carbs (not interested in Ketosis just a convenient target). I find this useful: Virta health - so maybe 2 days of more fat is a plan. I make that 80 (ish)% adherence? The high fat has always made me uneasy. From day one the mantra "you need muscle to fight this" has stuck. I'm pretty sure I've at least slumped below remission or quite deep into pre-diabetes. Swipey showing >5 for fbg is a massive clue >5.5 is a clincher. @jjraak your fbg is amazing given the circumstances and this all N=1. From day one of this journey I was clear you need muscle to fight The D and a high fat diet won't do for that for me. Circumstances have conspired to make a proper exercise regime impractical for the last 23 months. My appointment with the spinal surgeon and gym sessions are potentially massive "sliding doors" moments - good or bad. *PIES was a gift yesterday - with the S as spiritual - I'm good to go without the Social, thanks very much. Advent has been really, really useful for me, being a time of renewed hope and some poetry reading.
*PIES: Physical Intellectual Emotional Spiritual - often Social - development/health (Edited, I can spell pies)

Good morning everyone on cloud clearing to blue start here in the dark and dangerous north
Another day of cry freedom - how long can it last?

Girl in the bubble handed back to eager parents yesterday and then eldest son et al called in for a chat and to hoover up the remains of the mince pies. Lots of folk doing lateral flow tests - everyone confident about negative results (see Royal Institute Christmas Lectures on IPlayer with Jonathan Van-Tam before he became a Sir). Children will be next as they prepare to return to school - do schools stock pile the tests? According to my calendar I still have today and tomorrow as stand in New Years holidays so best make the best of it before 12th night closes in, shipwrecks the whole thing and we all end up with mistaken identities.

Take some time for yourself, feet up, eyes closed. I shall begin by making koffy first.

Thank you.

No lateral flow tests here for love or money. That was the case last week. Dunno about this week. I have a few, but carefully rationing them for hospital visits @dunelm

Love your trees and greens and yellows. A brilliant painting...

Thanks for the art. I suspect that, unlike me, you would feel ill at ease in Nicola's more left field (some may go as far as to say sane) fiefdom.
