What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.8 when I finally did take fbg. Got up this morning - no glasses on my bedside cabinet. Panic as I imagined them broken and mangled. Frantic search - no glasses.

Sometime later I remembered that I had woken up in the middle of the night and got up to switch off the computer which I had forgotten to switch off yesterday evening. I played a couple of games of Mah Jong before switching it off and had left them on the computer desk. Panic over. Then did a rather late fbg.

Bitterly cold walk around the park. Lots and lots of branches down.

I am flipping thoroughly fed up.
Wasted 2 hours this morning trying to access my British Gas boiler service account.
It tells me my email is right but my password is wrong.
My password is not wrong, it is written down.
Next try using their link to reset password, now says my email is not correct and they have no record of me.
I try again.
Then it says hey we do recognise your email now.
BUT it sets me through a rigamarole proving me is me. And tells me to use my last service paper bill.
What? I have used paperless bills for yonks.
I found the last communication from them on paper for last year, but it was not a bill, it was an offer for a new boiler.
So, I do my best filling what they are asking for.
Then they send another password reset for me to do, using my recognised email address for them.
So by this time my password (isn't) but on the lines of G1v3M3M3MyF#$¥€§gAcc0unTNow
The reply is, your account is reset, you may now log in.

I log in using my new password.

Sorry, you don't have an account here...

I am going to my bank on Monday and cancelling the direct debit.
What else can I do?

Edit: I will go on Twitter to them on Monday to 'prove' I have tried every Avenue of communication with them to get to my account to cancel.
I can't even chat app with them, I need my account to do that...

Greetings to all UK members who lived through Eunice safe, sound, with power and the vital fabric of their homes intact. Thoughts and prayers for those who died and those who were not so fortunate in terms of homes and power.. @Jojo85 enjoy the climate and do you watch the Big Bash. Are you a Sixers supporter? @gennepher and @dunelm once again I am awed by and thankful for your creative/artistic talents. @dunelm I'm pleased for your sister that the chemotherapy seems to be going well. Please ensure the basic builder’s flows freely, there’s a luv. @Krystyna23040 how is Heather getting on. Is she having chemo? @lindisfel hug for the heating and hot water problems. Prayers for an electrician. @jjraak I hope recovery is going well. Interesting link but aside from almond milk and a rare cashew foray I have zero problem with temptation from nuts or nut butters. @alf_Josiah I hope the tarp keeps things safe. I once had to wrestle my dad's metal garage back into place then secure it to his standards during a storm whilst he, in France "encouraged" me in his own inimitable way. Fortunately he was staying with my Aunt and she rang my cousin to help and the garage still stands to this day. It appears there are three more days of gusts which in other times would be seen as serious so take care as wind doesn't blow Omicron away.

Thanks for the painting compliment Ian.

That is a total nightmare @gennepher

Hi @ianpspurs Hilary does need chemo but unfortunately she is too ill to have it so is only having radiotherapy. Apparently chemo is not good with her other health issues. It is a very worrying time for her family.
Not being able to have chemo is unfortunate so I hope the radiotherapy works. My thoughts and prayers are with her, her family and those who care about her such as yourself. How are Jan and the boys coping? If you don't want to answer on here I understand.
You are so lucky @ianpspurs. You would be amazed at how fast I can consume a jar of almond butter.
Sounds as though Mr K is even more saintly than I imagined. Ignore the title and read through - make sure you have those glasses Ma'am. Judy Loo - yes, really- may be of interest.

Oh, OK. So with uploading, this is what I do on my iPad -
Take photo or put image in my photo library. I then edit to make sure it is cropped and also the right way round.
Then, open Image Size and choose the image from within my photo library (top left) and then press ‘choose’ - I can then pinch the image to get it the way I want it and then press the download arrow (bottom left) and choose jpg. It then downloads to my photo library and I can then re-edit from there if needed. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks dunelm I will give it another try soon, lot on at moment.K

Thanks @Krystyna23040
I am going to forget about it now until Monday morning, when I shall cancel the direct debit at the bank.
Just googled my rights on that since I am unable to inform British Gas before hand. But the new yearly contract happens end of this month, and so I have paid my full last year's dues. All I need to get is a print out from the bank, or an email off them for proof of cancellation of this coming 12 months. I want the print out.

Good morning but it’s not here rain has turned to sleet heating turned up rug around my legs has usual I’m always cold.
Hope everyone is safe from storm damage and warm and well, those that are not or sick I wish you all a speady recovery.
BG this morning was 6.4 after coffee +numerous trips to the loo in night
After 1 Gliclizide per day my usual breakfast yogurt and berries +coffee tested 2hrs later BG was 5.9
I like to let people know if I’m on medication to lower BG so not to give a false impression of I’ve done this on my own I think it important to be honest if you lower your BG from diet alone or with help from medication.
In 22years of type2 I have never needed medication but I believe my body is no longer able to produce enough insulin on its own due to ageing process. Even if some days I feel like a Spring Chicken not an Old Bird.:p Haha K

Great attitude. Stay warm and safe. If your body needs Gliclazide so be it. Feeling the cold seems to be one of the blessings of Elsie. Cold, some medication or D side effects? No brainer.

Thanks @Krystyna23040

@ianpspurs - Jan and the boys are really coping very well. My sister is really resilient. The boys live in the south but they are taking turns in coming up to Norfolk with their families so that Jan is not on her own too long.

I read the Judy Loo extract. I love parmesan but have never tried pecorino. Will look out for it next time we go shopping.

@Granny_grump_ As you are losing loads of weight you might find that you will soon be able to ditch the medication. This morning, when I couldn't find my glasses I felt like an Old Bird. Now I feel much more of a Spring Chicken as I have done loads of work and my brain is working properly again.
