What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north
Not a great deal of goings on at present but it should warm up as the day progresses. A skip will arrive sometime this afternoon and then the bedroom and dining room need to be cleared in readiness for the floor covering folk tomorrow so we will be sleeping in another bedroom tonight. We will pretend that we are on a short break. We sent for some lateral flow tests last week - I wonder if there is still time to grab some more before Rumple Stiltskin makes us all buy them from Poundland? I shall continue using masks but not now when moving from the sitting room to the kitchen.
Art bit - load a brush with water, then diluted ink, then dip the tip into ink - dry off a bit and then practice some brush strokes. Is it Tuesday yet? Have a smile of a day if you can. I shall now make koffy.

Are we going to have to pay for our own lateral flow tests?
If so I'll grab a few more from the chemist...

A good painting practice @dunelm
Although I love your colour work, I have an affinity for black and white...just a personal quirk of mine...

Thank you @gennepher. I like black and white also.
Here is the page on the BBC website about lateral flow tests in England: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60467183

Don't mind at all @Krystyna23040
Problem caused by the well known phenomenon of reduced tolerance for alcohol. So two glasses is too much for me now and after three am likely to be a stumbling slurring mess.
Am not expecting anything except Doc taking medical history and completing the registration progress, unless she decides to do tests.
Thank you. I had no idea that LCHF caused reduced tolerance to alcohol which can cause problems with the liver.

Thanks @Krystyna23040
The cherry trees appear to be still standing. They were planted as a windbreak, not by me, many years ago. But 3 storms in one week, and the final winds coming from the sea with Storm Franklin could have been that bit too much for them.
Just some of work to do. And my wood hacksaw needs to come out of hibernation...
really good @gennepher that your cherry trees are still standing

Hi to all. Assorted tales of woe caused by LCHF, mice, storms both in UK and less so in The Antipodes, accidents on the A47 and disruption from attempts to imitate a Mr Llewellyn Bowen. Hugs for @SlimLizzy @Jojo85 @Krystyna23040 and @gennepher. @alf_Josiah hug for yesterday's funeral and the issues of negotiating the minefield of the impending Free For All Fruitcake Fest. "As a national health policy designed to suit 250 or so Tory MPs, it appeared to be wholly successful" @gennepher thank you for another castle and I hope the cherry trees survive and flourish. I helped my dad gut and modernise a house called Cherry Villa. As a reminder of that endeavour there were two cherry trees in our last garden. Flowering Cherry and Magnolia trees will always bring a "certain longing" for me. @dunelm thank you for sharing your art and I hope the clearing and flooring operations go smoothly and the result delights Mrs Miggins. @SlimLizzy you are certainly living through very tough times so you are absolutely not being self absorbed in any way. Just what the side effects of LCHF are has always left me very concerned. Thoughts and prayers with you and all members who are in need. @jjraak for his healing, @lindisfel and The Duchess for lack of hot water; also our absent friends - The Thread Father, Geeful and Muddy Cyclist spring to mind.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those that played conkers and hopscotch, bet most of you did.
This morning was a 7.6, give me quantum mechanics any day over trying to understand the workings of diabetes.
More blood tests today, let’s hope they take enough blood this time, words will be spoken nicely to the feel my bottomist showing her / him the note saying not enough blood was taken last week. I could do with a rest from endless or so it seems medical tests, but it does add to the knowledge database in the ether. Enough whinging, many are much worse.
Well apart from the above and plinky plonky and booking a car service / mot my day will belong to Mrs J who probably has endless tasks lined up, yet to be communicated to me.
Have a great day all

I hope enough blood is taken today and the car is as well as can be expected under the circumstances. Were you a pickle or bake conker kinda guy? I have a mental image of a young Alfred - short trousers, Fairisle top, school cap- deliberately missing the conker and grinning as his opponent winced. Knuckles Josiah strikes again.

Sad news about the crash last night. Both drivers in hospital with life threatening injuries. It does sound like it was a head on crash.

Lovely to hear from you so your going to be a grandma again soon think of all those girly clothes you can buy for her it’s lovely being a grandma I’m a Nan but all my grandchildren and now Great grandchildren are all loved but they grow up so quickly, and then it all starts again with their children .
The grandson we visited last night are expecting their first baby in May they want a surprise birth so I will have to wait and see, can’t wait, we have all the fun but none of the work has a great grandparent and grandparent it’s great, but everyone is so busy with work commitments we don’t get to see them much so it’s lovely to be invited along for the evening we really enjoyed last night Enjoy the new baby girl I’m sure she will be very spoiled and why not!!! K

I heard on the morning news people in the over 75 age group are to have a booster jab in April so that’s sorted half my problems on travelling abroad this year has we had our vaccinations in April May and booster in November so we would have been classed has not upto date with vaccinations in EU countries. They have imposed a 270 days from your second vaccinations or booster dose cannot get the information anywhere but whatever it is we would be 10 months from last booster in November so classed has vaccinations out of time dates.
So spent half of this morning changing holiday dates paying extra to do all this so both of us would be within the 270 EU dates
Every day some governments are changing the rules it’s stressful and costly to say the least just want the sun on my Arthritic joints it’s the best relief from pain their is Cannot Wait, I know Covid is here to stay so we will be has careful has we are at home but I’m just so glad we can now travel abroad. If only UK had more sunshine we wouldn’t need to go abroad and we wouldn’t suffer from so much pain from Arthritic Joints has we age. But CBD balm has worked a treat no pain today will wait and see how long I can go without it, anyway enjoy your afternoon see you all tomorrow. K
