What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sad news about the crash last night. Both drivers in hospital with life threatening injuries. It does sound like it was a head on crash.
Hi Krystyna 23040. What crash was that haven’t seen any TV upto this morning! K

Evening

A good day at hospital yesterday.

Shoulder has good 'range'
Hand dexterity improving
Leg movement ahead of schedule
And scarring responding well and
scar fading coming along nicely .

Nephew met me and helped at hospital
We ubered down, but got bus back just for a bit of extra exercise & normality .

Met my youngest nephew, for a beer and a bite
So three of us sat putting world to rights, way longer then intended ..

Paying the price this morning

A LOT of extra work moving around yesterday, much like a hard session in gym if you have been away for a few months...so today was a rest day

Pub reasonably busy, was indoors in end

Most kept reasonable distance so I felt comfortable.

It's all ending, so I'm just trying to adapt as best I can.
Masked at hospital & on bus .
Stayed masked until I sat down
(Boys did the bar ordering )

Nice the thoughts are turning to travel @Granny_grump_
Think that is going to be a highlight of this year for many.
And a little sunshine IS very rejuvenating.

A pleasant sleep all
Let's do it all again tomorrow..:)

Last night's drive home was relaxed and uneventful and BS was a more normal 5.0. Really interesting how stress can up your blood sugars.

This morning 5.5. Our dining room has now been painted and looks really nice. Just time for a coffee before dog walk.

Good morning everyone on another blustery start here in the dark and dangerous north. The sun is out in a clear blue sky so that’s a bonus. Got the day wrong for the visit from the carpet people - sigh! So, ETA about 10am - a perfect time to go for a push or pull down the road in the wind - wind direction dependent.
Art bit - another one brush multi ink tone dip. Hope your day is kind for you. Koffy is already on the go.

Winner all round and must be great to be out and about and with family. The interesting bit is that the scaring is responding well and importantly, not impinging upon movement. Good stuff. Carpe mundum.

Fbg 6.9

I had a bad day yesterday. All to do with me being profoundly deaf, and the cochlear implant being as useless to me as as using a sieve as an umbrella in a downpour. If I cannot see a person talking (to lipread them) then I cannot follow what it being said, similarly with machines and intercoms etc which have little or no written instructions as well.

Consequently I get treated as stupid, and that I shouldn't be let out. The handling of this Covid epidemic/pandemic/whatever you want to call it has set back disability and deaf awareness, and any achieved consideration for deaf and disabled people, back right to the 1950's. It would take a book to explain what happened yesterday. I came home yesterday, went to bed traumatised. I slept. I woke up. I cried. I don't do crying. I stopped crying when I was a child, and vowed never to cry again, and I haven't, until yesterday.

I went back to sleep again and have slept on and off until this morning.

No sympathy needed or required. This old battle axe has her hard hat and boxing gloves on this morning, should they be needed.

I will catch up with you lot on Thursday.

Creative is how I felt yesterday, done in ZenBrush3

I need a battle cry, no I don't need one, my face will say it all today if needed..

Today is Wednesday in Forest Heath,, Alexa told me. What day is it where you are? As for the quality of the day that is still mainly to reveal itself but I'm praying it will be so much better than it was for Polycarp in 155 (AD) and definitely than yesterday was for @gennepher. Let's hope any tiredness you have is the product of a day such as @jjraak had Monday? rather than man's inhumanity to man Genn endured and has endured too often in her life. Thanks for the creative @gennepher which I hope helped you to vent emotions in a way which would otherwise have been damaging. @dunelm thanks for the art and do be realistic regarding how much walking your body should do - should not can as a one off. I'm glad the journey home last evening was much less fraught @Krystyna23040. Mr K must have been relieved. My fbg is a known unknown but I'm very much still on the reservation - with reservations. Gym for me yesterday but your guess is as good as mine regarding any benefit that or LC may have on my wellbeing. Kept me off the streets for 90 minutes so probably a social service. Must go, I need to start a just giving page for Oligarchs. If the Trussmeister is to be an embarrassment at least let her travel and dine in the style to which she wants to become accustomed, according to that wicked Meedja. It all costs you know, possibly you and I. Have a heart folks. If I took this lot seriously .......???

A dark tale of unpleasantness and good that you vented your spleen. I hope that your day (and anyone who steps into it) is kinder.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Getting out in this weather is my only hope of becoming windswept and interesting. Best adjust my Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs before departing the house.

Before you all start with the congrats, this is despite a heavier than usual meal last night and six, yes six squares of chocolate afterwards. So there was probably a mile high preceding spike.
Doc appt went as well as can be expected, with my limited French.
The doctor has given us both letters to take to the clinic where they do the blood tests. Am a bit worried about the HbA1c, have been eating a lot more carbs than usual, esp during stay with Mum. She has tiramisu or cheesecake every night and coffee always comes accompanied by cake or biscuits in her house. Weak of me I know, but I indulged most days, calling it comfort eating and I continued to eat puddings, cakes and biscuits once we returned to France for a couple of weeks.
Á reversal of the wine instead of sweet things mentality?
Am mosty over that now.
Anyway I would prefer to wait a couple of weeks for the HbA1c, but MrSlim is keen to get the tests done ASAP.
Am running out of ready cooked meals, homemade from the freezer. Completely out of fresh fruit and veg, cakes and biscuits, will not be able to delay shopping trip much longer and will have to actually cook a few meals.
Everything is hard work at the moment. My energy levels are so low. Keep hoping for improvement, but it is possible that this is as good as it gets.
Maybe if the weather brightens up my mood will improve also, but currently it is grey dull and drizzly, typical February weather.

I have a hankering to look like this guy and spout his wisdom. As for what needs to be adjusted - fine word Mountebanks. Is the collective noun a Government of Mountebanks?

Well the FBG is good despite the alleged prior spike (if no one saw it - did it really exist?). Wonder if you can get to a nice charcuterie who sells home cooked ready meals like coq au van for two. Anyhow, all the best with the blood tests and hope that the weather brightens up for you.

Do you not feel reassured that living with COVID will be just fine? Family with 2 children need how many packs of 7 @£17? Will there be LFT banks? Top, top levelling up.

Good morning everyone on a so far dismal start here in the dark and dangerous north.
Today may be wrapped in mystery but little chinks shine through. The bin lorry cavalcade will still go ahead even thought the orange clad secret service outriders have deleted their track and trace apps and are now relying on good old common sense. Girl in the bubble is here and will need waking at 7am to get ready for nursery where she will feast on all manner of succulent titbits cunningly disguised as ‘breakfast’. I have to call in at our new GP surgery with proof of who I am in order to re-activate repeat prescriptions. Will I need a carer?
Art bit - ink on watercolour paper. I hope that you all have a good day. Thoughts are with the people of the Ukraine. Best make some koffy.
