What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on another blustery start here in the dark and dangerous north. The sun is out in a clear blue sky so that’s a bonus. Got the day wrong for the visit from the carpet people - sigh! So, ETA about 10am - a perfect time to go for a push or pull down the road in the wind - wind direction dependent.
Art bit - another one brush multi ink tone dip. Hope your day is kind for you. Koffy is already on the go.

I like this multi ink tone dip @dunelm
Clean, uncluttered, and direct.
It soothes the mind...

Today is Wednesday in Forest Heath,, Alexa told me. What day is it where you are? As for the quality of the day that is still mainly to reveal itself but I'm praying it will be so much better than it was for Polycarp in 155 (AD) and definitely than yesterday was for @gennepher. Let's hope any tiredness you have is the product of a day such as @jjraak had Monday? rather than man's inhumanity to man Genn endured and has endured too often in her life. Thanks for the creative @gennepher which I hope helped you to vent emotions in a way which would otherwise have been damaging. @dunelm thanks for the art and do be realistic regarding how much walking your body should do - should not can as a one off. I'm glad the journey home last evening was much less fraught @Krystyna23040. Mr K must have been relieved. My fbg is a known unknown but I'm very much still on the reservation - with reservations. Gym for me yesterday but your guess is as good as mine regarding any benefit that or LC may have on my wellbeing. Kept me off the streets for 90 minutes so probably a social service. Must go, I need to start a just giving page for Oligarchs. If the Trussmeister is to be an embarrassment at least let her travel and dine in the style to which she wants to become accustomed, according to that wicked Meedja. It all costs you know, possibly you and I. Have a heart folks. If I took this lot seriously .......???
Thanks @ianpspurs

Good morning everyone on a so far dismal start here in the dark and dangerous north.
Today may be wrapped in mystery but little chinks shine through. The bin lorry cavalcade will still go ahead even thought the orange clad secret service outriders have deleted their track and trace apps and are now relying on good old common sense. Girl in the bubble is here and will need waking at 7am to get ready for nursery where she will feast on all manner of succulent titbits cunningly disguised as ‘breakfast’. I have to call in at our new GP surgery with proof of who I am in order to re-activate repeat prescriptions. Will I need a carer?
Art bit - ink on watercolour paper. I hope that you all have a good day. Thoughts are with the people of the Ukraine. Best make some koffy.

Lots to do today @dunelm
Great art.

5.8 this morning. A very hectic and active day yesterday. I was starving last night when I got back from classes but was really good and didn't eat anything. Funnily enough I wasn't hungry when I woke up this morning. Liver had obviously found a secret store of glucose.

Fbg 6.7

Spent the morning with a friend yesterday.

We discussed wide range of stuff.

I am still wearing my sunflower 'disability' lanyard, and my red I need to see your lips to lipread badge.

My friend and I agreed. It makes me vulnerable as a deaf person, and possibly a target. I always felt that way a bit. But it was a necessity in the beginning of Covid and the masks.

I am in England yesterday morning, by the way, where virtually no mask wearing was taking place. (In Wales there is much more mask wearing)

I said cheerio to my friend, and then stopped at another retail park in England which had stocks of something I needed that the Welsh store was out of stock of.
But at the till was an obnoxious till man, who just stared and stared arrogantly at my disability lanyard and badge. He wasn't wearing a mask, and it looked like the protective screens had been taken down. (By the way, I noticed other protective screens had been taken down in other places were I was with my friend.)

I asked for help with packing in my bag because some of my stuff was heavy. But he sneered and carried on staring. When I'd packed I asked how much. He mumbled something. I couldn't see the till display. So put my card in. But he didn't give me a receipt. I want a receipt because it's my card and I have electrical goods. Receipt please I asked. Begrudgingly he taps the till and I get my receipt.

I got to the car, took lanyard and badge off. Put it in my bag, and it stays in my bag, to be produced in a medical situation for example.

I now go back to what I've done all my life. That is be a 'normal' 'hearing' person.
'Oh, sorry, I didn't catch what you said'
'Oh sorry, I was daydreaming then'
'Oh, I must have been miles away, can you tell me again'
Or maybe...
'Sorry, I have wax in my ears, I can't hear a thing today'

Creative today...
I woke up. It came straight out of my head.
Done in ZenBrush3 then Snapseed then Procreate.

I might play with this idea for a few days. Popeye needs developing better...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, a wet national bin day morning.

A where did that come from 6.2 this morning, I shall smile sweetly and say thank you to my meter.
Here in Tilehurst Towers today is a day of three halves, the first will doing things I want to do, the second will be doing things I should be doing and the third half will be ignoring the first two and doing what Mrs J tells me to do.
Life is so simple.
Stay safe folks.

Good Morning busy busy day yesterday we were out from 8.30am to 4.30pm joints painful doctors appointment first yesterday sending me for XRay, not much help with pain relief has I’m allergic to a lot but he thinks it’s Arthritis in ankles knees and spine. I couldn’t help myself if he took the trouble to read my notes I could have told him I have osteoarthritis. So I made a point of telling him I’ve had it since I was 28 years of age. I was being treated at the countries biggest Orthopaedic Hospital Wrightington Hospital despite this he rates my arthritis has Mild, I’m now 75 years old had heavy lifting jobs all my life and lifting and carrying my paraplegic son, I was 5.7 when I was young I’m now 5.3 if that doesn’t register that my joints discs have all but disappeared in my lower back he informed me consultants won’t do knee surgery until bone is rubbing against bone. I don’t want surgery thank you I worked for operating theatres for last 15years of my working life and know people that have had knee replacement and they don’t always work, like hip replacement doesn’t always work, I will need steroids injections he informed me for my knees I’ll take that and keep my own joints thank you.
I told him about my eye problems oh he would give me some eye gel better than drops he said, but has I was in a hurry I didn’t notice he only gave me the XRay form to give to receptionist he had forgotten to give me the eye gel prescription.
Do they wonder why I rarely go to see a doctor and put up with the pain and find my own pain relief CBD Balm that I’m not allergic too.
Now I’ve got that off my chest my BG this morning was 6.2

What can I say that will do justice to each individual's situation, the madness infecting "the world" yet still honours the collegial, supportive and optimistic spirit of this forum, thread and my faith? Well, it is bin day and wet here as well. I am privileged/blessed to share your stories and virtual friendship. The creatives @gennepher shares exude hope and the triumph of something primal beyond the seen. @dunelm is like Jacob way, way back many centuries ago, a fine example of a family man. Skilful artist to boot (or shoe) so my thanks for sharing your gift - not everyone does. Any thoughts of monetising that via NFTs? Totally agree about the people of Ukraine. @Krystyna23040 great fbg and restraint last evening, take care today. @karen8967 thank you for that meme and another in the series of wonderful fbgs from you. I'll let you know my fbg when that becomes appropriate. Meanwhile, back at the ranch JKP and myself are supposed to be blessed with the duty of care for and pleasure from three grandchildren today. Give today your best shot folks because sometimes one just has to do this and you know what? it works. Have a song I rather like, particularly this version. @gennepher (Kitty Kallen's) lyrics here

8.05am FBG 4.8
Experimented with BG yesterday afternoon.
BG 5.4 ate slowly 6 squares chocolate.
Pottering about garden.
After 1 hour BG 6.5.
Expected rise to continue.
More pottering, this time in kitchen,
After 2 hours BG 5.5.
Does this possibly mean my body has learned to cope with occaisional sugary treats? Maybe HbA1c will be ok after all.
Love the song @ianpspurs.
@dunelm got your wish for me granted, pleasa t weather pm yesterday and lovely sunny morning with light breeze, am going to hang sheets outside to dry.

That sounds really promising. I am hoping that my my body will also get better at coping with carbs.

Will need to email class members in my Wednesday morning classes. Yesterday a class member was convinced there was a dead bird behind a radiator. I definitely did not want to retrieve it so contacted the lady who does the hall bookings. The chairman of the Village Hall committee then went to investigate and found the dead bird was actually a pine cone that from the Christmas decorations. What as relief.
