What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Bearing in mid the time of day you wake up that is that equivalent to my aim of not eating after 6 pm then waking at 5.30 ish. Makes sense.
Yes, it does Ian.
I think when suggestions, or guidelines are given on diabetes and food, people really need to take into account of the hours kept/lifestyle of the person.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, been a bit busy doing stuff today, it was plan B, plan A was go for a ride on my motorcycle, but it was just too cold so plan B woodworking it was. One of my woodworking tasks is to make a safety / hand rail for a neighbour and myself so sawing, sanding and screwing we’re the order of the day, prototype fitted. Pictures will be taken of the final assembly subject to approval.

Bloods this morning were 5.8, what they are now who knows.
Have a good evening all
Hope your blood sugars are what they should be by now @alf_Josiah
We look forward to the photos of the final assembly!

I have no idea what this does to my bg since I'm not using Swipey just now. However, the nutritional information looked fine and the taste and texture were good enough for me. Scratched a 6.5 year itch (Mascapone and tomato sauce 5% carbs, yes not h/m but I don't make my own clothes or car tyres either*) a pasta bake may be next on the menu. Other suppliers are slightly cheaper but don't include the full nutritional information. May interest some people or make some twitch uncontrollably. Just putting it out there.
*We gave away our pasta maker but may try this and buy a new one - still not making car tyres.

This morning, the midnight creatures had polished off all the dry cat biscuits.

'gennepher's cat diner' operates 24 hours. But night time hours is dried cat biscuits only.

And so I went out to replenish them and to add the daytime menu of wet food.

Horror of horrors. A turd in the dry cat biscuit bowl. I know who I suspect from this pointy turd, but I took a photo and asked Google to ID. Google says confidently, that is a slug. Well, you know what I think of Google now.

I check out on the Wildlife Trust the ID of wildlife turds. It was Foxy Loxy. The ingratitude! And so all bowls are in a bucket of hot soapy water in the garden. Ginger (cat) comes in, and looks at me.'I can't eat soapy bubbles,' 'You'll have to have a word with Foxy Loxy', I tell him. Ginger takes a determined path into the undergrowth.

I come out with a couple of prepared clean dishes from the bungalow, and Mrs Blackbird is hopping round my feet impatient for the dried cat biscuits. I explain to her because of the fox and the turd, 'gennepher's cat diner' is closing for nighttime dining for the next few nights. But it will be fully open in day time hours from 7am until 5pm. 'Oh that's okay', says Mrs Blackbird, 'I can store some in my spare nest'. And proceeds to take the dry cat food as I am still trying to pour it out. 'Oh by the way,' I say, 'Could you tell the hedgehogs, that the soup kitchen will be open from 6pm to 7 pm, until nighttime service is restored. And I will put the kitten dry cat biscuits out just for one hour for them.' Mrs Blackbird flies away.

A turd in the food bowl indeed! And after polishing off the dry food. That is not on.

Creative today.
The next set of kaleidoscopes will be from my back garden. In the Laboscope app. Popeye thinks he has a good hiding place ?!?

Time for loads of coffee and tea....

That is amazingly low carb pasta @ianpspurs

4.8:this morning. We are off to Blickling Hall shortly. Weather looks OK. Apparently they do the best National Trust sausage rolls in the UK - according to Mr K 's diligent research.

Oh YUK @gennepher. Actually, what is even more yuk is that if our Labradors had got there first they would have eaten the fox turd.

Definitely

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
A 5.6 this morning on that meter of……..

Today is an unknown until about 5:00pm, Mrs J will be celebrating the anniversary of her entrance into this world, to be honest she has been celebrating for days and will continue to do so tomorrow, but today is the date on her birth certificate.
Now I must depart and make her early mug of tea.
Stay safe all.

Wonderful night time story and the inclusion of a villain! Smashing colours again but I think that Popeye is losing it about hiding places.

Many happy returns to Mrs J

Good morning everyone on a wonderful sunny start here in the dark and dangerous north
Bit of a disaster darling last night as girl in the bubble decided that 2am was time for breakfast and did that special cacophony that infants do until her demands were assuaged. Luckily she then settled back down and we all slept until well gone 8. Kitchen fitters tomorrow so dining room table is being turned into a camp kitchen complete with kettle, microwave and slow cooker. We may be eating out (gasp!).
Art bit - another large sheet of unsized rice paper. I hope that your Sunday is especially good to you. Meantime, I simply must replace my empty tea mug with a full koffy mug.

Many Happy Returns to Mrs A J. On the theme of happy returns an uplifting moment yesterday in the Norwich V Brentford football match. Also a new meaning to location, location, location with the news of the death of Shane Warne from a heart attack in his villa set against that and the Fabrice Muamba recovery because their events took place at football grounds with all the equipment and medical personnel. @gennepher wonderful, detailed story of #turdgate and another stunning kaleidoscope - I think I spotted Popeye. @dunelm good news on the GIB going back to sleep - Moanna on demand seemed to work for us. Thank you for the art and I hope the kitchen fitters arrive on time and complete everything to schedule. @Krystyna23040 enjoy Blickling Hall and it is only right and proper Mr K has the bestest sausage roll NT can offer after that soaking. Our labs, badly labelled as Springadors, would have dealt with #turdgate in the same manner. The pasta and sauce (oh, tomato rich sauce I love thee) were divine darling, simply divine. For once I felt warm in the evening, had no need of a cheese snack and slept until 6.37. Correlation isn't causation but thanks be to God for that set of events. Will lamb shoulder and veggies be any good today? One son, two grandchildren and MIL has now morphed into two sons, one wife and four grandchildren for lunch. Just a pity one party of five decided to invite themselves after we visited the boutique farm shop butcher (confirmed my idea of why the Ukraine disaster will make our pork more expensive) but hopefully the lamb was hench enough. The wine bill may be eye watering but Nanny London can be pushed home in her wheel chair by one of the boys. Eat yer heart out Jay Rayner and that Dent personage #4gennosh - still no h/m tyres. He's right y'know so watch out if eating out @dunelm.
