What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

My bargain dried cat biscuits which I was expecting yesterday didn't come until today.
That's okay, sometimes deliveries take longer.
But now I am b_____ furious.
I go out, and the delivery guy tells me I have to open the front door. I tell him the front door does not open, it is not in use, and explain to him that he has instructions on the DPD app to leave the parcels by the back door, and that there are a couple of photos I put on the app, as per DPD instructions, so that they are left at the right door and in the right place.
He refused, was very argumentative and nasty, and says he is taking my parcels back to the depot as he is walking back to his van.
I didn't have time to go in my house to grab my phone to prove the photos were on the DPD app.
I have paid for those parcels, the stray cats need that food, and I am having them now.

So I ROARED at him. Then told him in no uncertain terms to get those parcels to the back door.
He does as he is told, protesting all the while. Takes a photo, and leaves still protesting.
I check the parcels. There seems to be one missing. There is 1 of 4, 2 of 4, and 4 of 4.

He has not given me parcel number 3.

I check the contents of the 3 I have. I am short.

So, complained to DPD.
Complained to suppliers of my cat biscuits.

And on my iPad screen, a pop down menu from DPD, 'Would you like to rate ____ your driver?'

I never want to see that horrible obnoxious driver again.

If there is anything I need online that says DPD delivery, then I will do without, and go elsewhere even if it costs more.

Actually DPD round here have a bad reputation.

I have 3/4 of the cat biscuits I ordered. It just means I have paid a bit more for each bag.

We'll see how my complaints go, the supplier of those dry cat biscuits won't be too happy.

What can I say after those events? The delivery driver certainly picked the wrong person to cross. How would you deal with a week in which everything went according to plan? Since I can't help in any other way I'll just pray DPD and suppliers solve the cat biscuit problem and that you have a problem free time for once.

Thanks @ianpspurs
He definitely did pick the wrong person to cross.
Thanks very much for your prayers.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, Oversleeping in the Morening seems not a good idea.

A straight 6.0 this morning.

It appears that a DPD delivery driver might be looking for new employment shortly while probably munching cat biscuits, good for you @gennepher.
Stay safe all.

Delivery companies, do get a bad rep most places ..but majority just do the job ok

However , in the spirit of getting a response

I got stonewalled by just eat over the missing scooter.
A months wait, then fobbed off

Two posts on twitter a day apart .
Scooter found, someone sent to check it over for me...:D

And great service resumed once more

If you get no joy.

Twitter for the win :)

If not, then off a-twittering I go...

Hi Krystyna 23040
That’s great information I will look where I can buy these two products locally or in town and try them hopefully it just may be the missing link to been rid of it. My dentist didn’t advise any brand just don’t use any toothpaste with Sodium Laurel Sulfate.
Although Sensodyne doesn’t have these products in them it’s worth giving the Weleda products a try thank you for the information will look online to see where I can buy them, I’ll let you know how I get on in time when I start using them.K
Just looked online there are a number of different Weleda toothpastes which one did you use, sorry to be a nuisance. K
The one I like is the plant based one. My dentist said that all the Weleda ones were OK.

My fitbit has fallen prey to cancel culture aka recall and refund. How will I manage to know my sleep score, time in each zone, resting heart rate or other data without which I lived 60 years in blissful ignorance whilst the discounted replacement arrives? First world problems - now where is my avocado slicer and masher?
Hope the replacement fitbit arrives quickly.

Just fed Mr&Mrs Blackbird. And Biscuit (one of the ginger strays).
Mr&MrsB had first dibs of the dry cat biscuits. Then Biscuit came strolling in, and polished everything off (only the dry and wet cat food) while the Blackbirds watched from high.
Sparrows and female bluetit have nearly finished the fat balls.
I will refill all after my cuppa...

Creative is a kaleidoscope.
Laboscope app. Procreate to do his Lordship. And Snapseed for name&frame.
What is it? My bedroom again. The yellow silk chrysanthemum flowers in a Chinese vase...

Enjoy another cuppa!

Greetings everyone on another Friday. The weather here seems to be in a sombre mood presumably due to the stupidity on show in Ukraine, on Fox and friends and elsewhere sadly driven from the news by Putin. Hugs for the dental/oral and eyesight issues @gennepher @Granny_grump_ and @Krystyna23040. Hugs, thoughts and prayers for those impacted by floods in Australia, your mum and sister @dunelm, Jan and Heather @Krystyna23040 and anyone else my aged mind overlooked. I need to drink as many 750 mls mugs of tea as possible today since Naproxen may not be a good idea. @gennepher wonderful kaleidoscope yet again. @dunelm no plan at the start but turned out nice again. You are cracking on apace with the dream home even without young McCloud’s help to run up £3 mill debt. Whatever little or large obstacles life throws at you today time and the hour run through the roughest day -trite but nonetheless true.
Thank you @ianpspurs. I hope that you sleep well without your fitbit - goodness knows how we all managed before all these lifestyle gadgets came along to save us. Enjoy the avocado, be gentle with the slicer and masher.

Makes you wonder sometimes why people get so nasty. DPD are pretty good here, it’s the Hermes guy that doesn’t seem to know his haris from his elbow.

My little female bluetit that flies with the sparrows, had a new suitor yesterday. She seems more receptive to this one than the last one whom she totally ignored.

So, I have hopes for this one.

One lone starling came in, hungrily ate, then left.

The wood pigeon came in, helped him/herself to peanuts. Wood pigeon was on the small bird table keeping the whole lot for itself. And staring at me this way and that way the whole while.

Magpie came along and helped himself to the dry cat biscuits, then decided he wanted what the wood pigeon was having. But wood pigeon was having none of this and held its ground on the small uplighter lamp bird table. Magpie made several attempts but wood pigeon refused to budge. I thought this was a bit of a dangerous game on the part of the wood pigeon, because I have seen a magpie attack and kill a white dove (not in my garden). I was ready to go out if necessary, but magpie flew to my roof. This is my garden and my rules apply.

I have another uplighter lamp (which had been in the bungalow until it broke), but that is serving a different purpose elsewhere in the garden, but I might repurpose it...

The regular sparrows were all in their individual groupings with Mrs Blackbird appearing to keep a watchful eye on them all, sounding the 'cat alert' alarm if necessary.

Mr Blackbird doesn't care. He is interested in the snails...I wish he was more interested in the slugs...

The stray cats came in one by one, each checking the coast was clear before eating.

It is 5:30 am now. I have been awake since 3 am. I might try for some sleep again.

In the meantime, my Creative which is a kaleidoscope again from my bedroom, in Laboscope, Popeye painted in Procreate, and Snapseed for name and frame.

Another cuppa first.

Excellent tales from the garden. Smashing jewel like effects on this kaleidoscope piece. The circle of baguette diamonds reminiscent of Art Deco and Art Nuevo.

Good morning everyone from a dull but dry start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Rain all day yesterday. Lighter in the morning so we did manage a drippy wander and a cafe visit with the girl in the bubble, a thing that she really enjoys - “where’s my toast and butter lady?” (10 seconds after ordering it). The immediacy of infants seems to have permeated across quite a few age groups in our modern world of back to frontness. Brother in law arriving again today to do some hammering and banging outside. I shall be on tea duty and maybe with a biscuit or two or a slice of Yorkshire Brack.
Art bit - two master ship on unsized rice paper, a bit bigger than A3. Have a marvellous Saturday if you can. Time for a pre-8am koffy.
