What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thursday in week one of 2022's Lent has dawned here as part of my particular Camino. Bright blue sky but Chilli Willi and the Red Hot Peppers for those poor bins awaiting collection - bless. What's the weather like for your little section of the way? Gotta love a pilgrimage but maybe as a spectator. Latest Swipey is settling in but implies my bg over the last almost half day averages 5.5. Aside from the credibility of Swipey there are the issues of why so high and just what can be done about that without adding to other problems? Seems to be a theme for many with helping the Ukrainians - money or material? @dunelm's approach of both seems about right but local charities here suggest no more material help, just money. Here's one option - Afghanistan, Syria etc haven't been "solved" either and I'm more inclined to Jack Monroe's view of UK suffering than The Suspect's - but there are plenty out there. @gennepher thanks for the humorous creative and @dunelm I'm very comfortable with that kind of art so thank you so much. Like most I've already failed to live up to expectations today but besides there being some way to go before close of play today there's always tomorrow - provided you wear Alf's stays. I have to say they can sometimes be very constricting but the alternative seems far worse. Which brings me (neatly?) back to Elsie, Swipey and the Jack of Hearts. Sorry Bob - bit too long for the link.

Good national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and a special mention again for our resident foxy scarer @gennepher, a nice idea and picture.

This morning I was greeted with a 6.1 if we drop the decimal point 61 is a prime number, should I be happy? Should I be sad? Better ask my mother, whoops sorry slipped into song mode.

My day is planned and if I am lucky could involve good koffy and a bacon sarnie, but lots to accomplish before I will be able to get my motor running, heading on the highway looking for adventure and whatever comes my way, whoops more song mode.
Have a great day fellow posters and painters, stay safe.

Well!
The doctor says all my blood tests are perfect. Never mind that the laboratory flagged liver function in bold... "that's probably normal for you"
She did prod and poke extensively and has ordered more tests and a scan.
But she seems to think my main problem is I don't eat enough. That why I get so tired.
She recommends carbs and a little sugar at every meal.
Am going to go back to my normal diet and see what happens.
@gennepher Well done for scaring off Foxy Loxy.

Where's the confusing rating? Best wishes for your normal diet.

@SlimLizzy, liver function tests, a mine field to interpret. My guess is sugar for a quick energy boost and carbs for slow release energy. Bitter experience has taught me low carb does not work for me, I must have carbs or I can’t function. Food is body and brain fuel, nothing more nothing less, in my opinion.
Which brings me on to my point nicely, if I do this correctly the picture shows my koffy and vegan bacon sarnie mid point on my ride this morning, riding a motorcycle can be energy consuming hence the sarnie, Yes I do wear hi-vis clothing.D1B92508-F69B-498B-A754-A2B3668495F8.jpeg

And thank you Alf

I am living vicariously off that pic (well jel :greedy: )
It all seems so happy, peaceful & idyllic.

Btw, Nice to know what the French call that boat..:)

And you don't seem very wild to me, but once that engines running, all bets are off .;)

Only bikers really understand why dogs put their head out the window. :D

Let's rock...

@gennepher If only I could believe her. Since I still have symptoms, something is wrong, that will not be cured by eating more. After all I had this LCHF cracked years ago. Since 2019. Only started being ill in Nov last year.
On with the next round of tests, perhaps Monday, I can just walk into the laboratoire show them my piece of paper and get them done immediately or i will be given an appointment.

Fingers crossed they will be done immediately @SlimLizzy

You have also had a lot going on in your life since November last year.

Hopefully there will be an answer for you in these new blood tests x

Hello all,

Fbg was 5.1 at 5am. Woke up early for an early walk today.

Hope everyone has a great day! Hooray for the weekend

Good morning everyone, it’s another palate of pinks and reds over the sea this morning so hopefully another clear day. A mixed bag yesterday. Walked into town and had a go in a cafe we had not yet visited - a bit early, 10am but they did a small breakfast. We need more decking - blast - do they still stock the same stuff that was an online offer only two weeks ago - yes they do! Kitchen is now installed, just the electricians this morning to connect it all up and issue an electrical safety certificate.
Art bit - after scaring myself with watercolour yesterday, back to some ink on rice paper, phew! Hope you all have a wonderful Friday, I shall continue mine by making koffy.

A higher than usual 6.0 this morning. Maybe because I ate a lump of extra mature ncheddar cheese before bed. I wasn't hungry so have no idea why I ate it.

Great art...a wisp of smoke...a pathway to the unseen mountain top...your one stroke paintings are very mystical...

Enjoy that coffee @dunelm
