What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.7

This morning Shadow is sitting on my large wood swing waiting for me to wake up. i watch her for about half an hour as I slowly wake up and meditate.

I feed her and she goes back to sitting on the swing again. Mr Heffalump (wood pigeon) comes in to crash land, but sees Shadow, so does a very clumsy mid air change of flight and goes off. Shadow gets down off the swing and finishes the off the wet food in the bowl. And off she goes.

I put some more wet food out. Come back in, and sit in bed with my coffee.

Mr Magpies is next. He seems to be rather hungry. Eats a lot of the wet food, then takes some chunks back to his missus in the nest (I presume). Mr Magpie is back and forth. Mr and Mrs Blackbird come in for the dry food in between Mr Magpie's visits.

Now, the parade of the gingers, but Mr Magpie comes back. He is hopping around making it very clear he is not a patient customer. Okay says Manky Ginger, gives up his place, and strolls up the garden path. He will come back later and I will make sure he gets his wet food. But Mr Magpie is very impatient at the moment. I would guess he has young ones to feed and a demanding missus.

Yesterday when I got back from that foreign country of England, I was very tired after my foraging for stuff, so I put my feet on my couch in the front room with a cuppa. Mr Magpie was out there on the bungalows at the other side of the road checking for open windows. He got inside one bungalow and a short while later came out with something in his beak, and flew off. Oops. Expect the police helicopter soon looking for a stealthy burglar...

A funny story. About 15 years ago, I got in my car in my driveway, but I noticed a magpie was entering the bungalows through open windows, there was no one in, they were out at work. The police helicopter was hovering overhead. I didn't think anything of it, but I did sit in my car watching that magpie try several bungalows. Then I drove off into the next village to the post office in the church hall run by the lady vicar. The police helicopter had followed me closely as I drove there. Very unnerving. Once inside the church hall, the Reverend lady vicar (not sure how to officially address her), just use her Christian name once inside. What's with the helicopter overhead she asked me. So I explained about magpie, watching him, then driving there. Right, that's it she said, come on, I don't like the police. She locked the church hall as we went out. Police helicopter is still hovering over head. And she grabs my hand, and we walk round the church and church hall widdershins. The police helicopter follows us round (to see what we are doing?) and we get back to the church hall door. Then she waves with both hands at the police helicopter and shouts some words at them....not words I expected from a lady vicar (or any vicar). Then we go back inside. I finish off my post office business. The police helicopter is still hovering overhead. And it follows me as I drive off. I get on the Expressway, and put my foot down on the pedal. And then out of my rear view mirror, I see the police helicopter finally turn round and fly back to the village.

I never leave my bungalow windows open when i go out.

Well, Mr Magpie and the gingers are now taking turns for that bowl of wet cat food this morning. It needs refilling again...

Creative this morning - I have been illustrating the early part of my life story for the grandchildren. I found you could hand draw the illustrations directly in Pages on the iPad. With my hands not being very cooperative for drawing at the moment, this is a different (how to describe it?), rough imprecise style of drawing with the lines all over the place (a lot of digital eraser was used), and you could fill in with colour fill. This one is my fourth attempt and I actually like it, so I will be doing the rest this way. So, it is sort of detail, but not precise detail.

I am here when I am meant to be there, spent too long writing this. Calico is now eating the rest of the wet cat food. All stray cats have been fed now, even Manky Ginger got another bowlful. I will be refilling the dry cat food bowls, but the wet cat food part of the diner will now be closed until tomorrow. It is 8:30 am and everyone has been fed...

Bye....catch you later...

Impressive drawing, @gennepher

Greetings to everyone attempting once again to manage/fight/live with The D plus all the other vicissitudes of life. I obviously have an fbg but what level that is I know not. @Jojo85 I hope the M and P were just what Dr Jojo ordered. @dunelm some wise words, kindly shared art and account of a splendid day yesterday. I knew what M and P were but did need to google @gennepher' s widdershins. @gennepher wonderful stories of life in your diner and the lady vicar. Thank you for your creative and I'm glad you can "merge" digital and hand drawing since I sense that pleases you greatly. Quite springlike here so I hope the weather is also kind to you today. @Krystyna23040 when is your family coming as the local forecast is good? @SlimLizzy I hope the stress abated last evening but if not hugs and prayers. Talking of words, a relative wanted to know what mendacious meant. See attached. Pip Pip OId Toots.

Hello friends!

7.30am fbg 5.3

I had a me day today after my nieces left yesterday. Had a Mani and Pedi! Kids are hard work lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
You definitely needed a me day today. Hope you are feeling relaxed and rejuvenated now.

5.1 this morning. Relaxing with a coffee. Everything ready for our visitors. Thank goodness Easter wasn't last weekend. It will be so much nicer with the warm weather.

Slightly easier day today, am home alone so doing laundry and hopefully a bit of gardening. Friend has brought round a meal for tonight, so no cooking needed today.
Same friend is also taking everyone to appointments as car is still incarcerated in vehicular hospital awaiting delivery of parts for transplant operation.

Purple prose right there. Wonderful friend, admirable fbg and so stylishly communicated. You have a simply splendiferous day. Passe une splendide journée seems rather tame after your post, sorry.

Thanks for the insight into the ins and outs of the al fresco dining extravaganza, reminds me of The Falling Foss Tea Room near Whitby - https://www.fallingfossteagarden.co.uk/. Smashing vicar story and a lovely mixed media piece of art.

Plenty of non doms/dodgy PPE contracts in that area?. The men of The D and D N I know would be all "1 tea and 4 straws love." That place is obviously for this demographic - for you Genn

Thank you @ianpspurs
You are right. I do like mixing digital and hand drawing.
:)
You have a good day.

Good morning everyone from a promising start in the East here in the dark and dangerous north. Did anyone get their hands on some dodgy coins yesterday - no? Never mind. Easter egg hunts? Do we need to wait until Sunday or can we have one any day we like. Also, can we just wrap cunningly shaped vegetables in tinsel paper and have Easter egg surprises? Not sure what we are doing today but the funicular should be open at last so we could spend an hour or so queuing for a 2 minute ride in that.
Art bit - perhaps a bit too much ink, who knows. Have a marvellous day if you can, speedos on if the sun is shining. Best make some koffy first.

Yesterday afternoon, my orders came in a few days early. So, I got my tens machine, and my food dehydrator.
While I was researching the food dehydrator the prices were going up as I was looking. I chose one, and then found it had gone up by £30. So, I unchose it and looked again. There were 2 contenders, but the one I fancied, when I looked at the reviews they bore no relation to that particular product. I only knew because people had posted photos of it. So, I then chose one that had just popped up on offer, (it had good reviews on other sites as well). But OMG, the size of it. It looked quite small in the photo, but I now have a giant of a dehydrator...Okay, I should have got my ruler out to realise the dimensions, but my brain does not visualise metric, but it can visualise imperial measurements.

The tens machine came as well yesterday. I opened it up, and I had to check back on my order because it looked worth far more than I had paid for it. I only paid £18:99 for it, and I would have said it was worth £45 plus. I knew I needed an Apple device to run it, so I downloaded the app for it on my iPad. I was struggling for the next hour to get the device to talk to the app. Checked reviews, others had given up on it and sent it back. Nothing defeats me. Got it working. Then was the next mystery. Where to put it? Everything was as clear as mud. There was a whole pile of stuff on Chinese acupuncture, but that didn't exactly relate to the use and placement and program and strength for use of this tens machine. A bit of guesswork next. And it works and appears to be helping me, like I thought it might. There was no app for Android. So, I wondered if there was a generic app, to generally run tens machines. Found one. Very easy to get it to talk to my new tens machine, and it had better safety features. So, I am a happy bunny! I love this new tens machine.

gennepher's cat diner - very busy this morning. Shadow was waiting as usual on my swing for first dibs. Then for the next two hours has been the procession of the birds. Blackbirds, sparrows, bluetits, and Mr Magpie who is is making very frequent visits. And then Mr Heffalump (wood pigeon) is crash landing in the middle of this bird party. The suddenly I realised there was a new bird at the fatball feeders. My bird app for bird sounds had said this bird was in the near vicinity.but I had never seen it before. So googled to double check ID. Beautiful reds on it. It is a Male Great Spotted Woodpecker! Beautiful!

Who the heck wants to sit in a cold damp draughty bird hide with no facilities? I am in my warm bed, leccy blanket on, a cup of hot fresh coffee and one of tea, and the bathroom facilities just round the corner.

Shadow has just come back for her second breakfast, and Manky Ginger has just started the procession of the gingers....

Creative today. Another illustration done in Apple's Page for my life story for the grandchildren. This one is of Orlando the Marmalade Cat, which was my favourite book as a child.

More coffee and tea needed now, and the cat diner needs a refil...

Oops, busy out there, Manky Ginger has just caught a passing mouse...the cat diner is restocking itself...oh dear, the drama continues, another ginger cat has entered the scene, Ginger. Two gingers at once....
