The church members are lovely and do a lot of good things in our community so I am so pleased it stayed safe.I..... spooky post
Snake's eye?Nice report.
Bit of a townie, and while aware of birds rarely take any notice or know much about various species/breeds.
So looked and found this useful for gauging sizes

And the artwork looks like a giant snakes, eye. Mmhh..I like those colours in it

Thank you @ianpspursHello from what an Estate Agent might try to call the Exotic East. In summary it is Summery here and likely so to stay for a few daysI should be thankful to God for all the seasons but in all honesty summer is the one where I sense his love most. Interesting time spent watching football with a Welsh commentary where suddenly the words Norrington Davies and Bale were heard. Groceries incoming all the way from MK City later. One granddaughter is here all day then school run for her big brother. @gennepher such observation of and care for those birds and cats; thanks for the very colourful creative. @dunelm a day early for bins here as we are still catching up from Platy Jubes. Thank you for the art and enjoy the ride out and meal. Anything above Sea Level is counted as a hill in these parts. If anyone is interested here are some recipes - I’m not keen on salt, pepper and cream but they could be fartnarkled. Anyone able to keep count of what number reset our World King is on now? Enjoy your day whist allowing the rest of mankind to live their best life.
That was very lucky it got noticed @Krystyna230406.0 this morning. The little Methodist Church in our village definitely has has someone looking after it - keeping it safe.
Last night a class member from an earlier class attended the last class instead of her earlier class. Everyone left and Mr K was helping me pack up. Class member returned and said that she was very concerned about a very bright light against the curtains in the window. We went into the church to investigate and found a very powerful spotlight was on. The very hot bulb was resting on the fabric blind. Both were absolutely red hot.
It must have been on for hours and could easily have started a fire if it had been left on any longer. The hall I use is at the back of the building and we would never had known it was on if the class member hadn't noticed it from the front carpark.
Good news about your cousin @jjraakMorning
Still letting the meter 'talk to the hand'.. for now.
GREAT news...Cousin in ICU now home once more
Doesn't seem to be any major issues apart from regaining strength and putting on a little of the weight he lost
Voice I'm told is back to normal after his trachea op.
(Don't want to over burden him just yet, sisters & brothers first in line, obv, and he only got home on Monday night )
For me, the silicone seems to making a difference appearance wise..scars look less vivid & angry I think
Movement 'seems' to be improved slightly.
It is hard to tell as wrist is being inflamed due to needing the crutch so much. But it's looking promising.
And 'niece' has now inherited a family car at a mates rates price, as someone has upgraded .so less need of ours, handy as insurance due this month.
She has expressed worries it 'seems' too big for her
It's only a few mm's different from ours but I do remember how any step up to a bigger car felt like driving a Luton van, back in the day
But she's a very capable driver, I Think she'll be fine in a week or two.
Sun shining here in the Corruption capital.
Have a good day, all.![]()
That all sounds very positive and a little sun always helps. John Richardson did a brilliant piece about what happens in the capital when there is a little sun https//yewtube/0bCLWeycGMA - link edited as some may find a few words nawty. From memory seems about right but your mileage may vary. Does sound like what Sue Gray discovered - June 19 2020 was sunny.Morning

Are you sure that Mrs Blackbird is not possessed by the soul of an angry meerkat? Beautiful artwork.Fbg 6.4
Pouring with rain when I woke up.
No Midnight on the swing this morning, so I was momentarily panicking, because he is always there at that time.
I go out with food and dishes, and Midnight emerges from under the large wooden swing. There is some tarpaulin under there covering some stuff. It was colder as well as wet last night.
There was obviously another cat hovering in the undergrowth, because Midnight kept looking. It might have been Jade, but I could see nothing. So I put another double bowl of cat food in the undergrowth. It had vanished next time I looked.
Yesterday, Midnight never left my side, or garden, all day. He was either on my coir mats by my feet as I was working at my makeshift desk at my bedroom door. Or he was on the ledge of the swing (barely an arms length away from me) watching me work on my devices, or writing postcards and letters.
Then when I was working on my raised bed (as in on old garden chairs) vegetable garden, he got back on the feather cushion on the thatched swing (but as you probably remember, the blackbirds stole the thatch to make their nests, so it is tarpaulin covered now, with camouflage netting on it...looks odd, but is totally waterproof...), and Midnight settled down to a relaxing chilled out sleep. Each time I passed him he opened his eyes, chirruped, so I scritched his head. I was wearing protective gardening gloves after my hand swelled the other day, although it was an insect bite, but Midnight wasn't fazed by this large object descending on his head. He knew it was a part of me.
Then he went in a deep relaxed sleep, except his eye opened for a tiny peek to check it was me passing him. This is the first time he has not got off the swing and run up the garden when I have walked past him.
The Bluetit family are still coming in two halves, that is Dad with one baby bluetit, then he leaves, and mum comes in with the other two babies. Dad has a different kind of parenting to Mum Bluetit. He flies in, calls baby. Baby Bluetit comes in, and he feeds the baby from the fatballs. Then he flies away, leaving the baby in his charge alone in the garden. The baby feeds off different feeders, does a bit of investigating, gets into a couple of scrapes, then finally flies out of the garden. Mum Bluetit, by comparison, ushers the two babies in her charge into the garden to her favoured fatball feeder. The two baby bluetits sit obediently on the branch to be fed by Mum Bluetit. They want to feed themselves on the feeders, but Mum insists they stay on the branch, until the banshee Mr Blackbird sweeps through them, uttering his terrible cries. Whereupon the two baby bluetits flee into the bushy leaves, and Mum proceeds to carry on feeding them in the leaves. Then Mum and babies leave together.
Mr Blackbird lost his temper badly yesterday. The GreatTit and his two babies had come to the newer fatball feeder I had put up for them, and when they left, Mr Blackbird came in and viciously attacked that fatball feeder. He was not feeding but furiously emptying the feeder of the fatballs.
Sigh...
He is not a normal male blackbird.
Little Miss (teenage sparrow extraordinaire) keeps popping in, but I do not know what her latest project is...
Ravens are flying overhead, seagulls are swirling. Mr Blackbird is doing his screeching flypasts.
And higher up in the sky, stranger birds (to this garden), are going about their business, some in twos, some singly, some slow, some ambling, some at the speed of a bullet train, but all appear to have an apparent purpose in mind.
The buzzards haven't arrived yet, but they 'play' in the thermals from the steelworks.
Creative this morning is a digital painting of mine put in Tiny Planets and fartnarkled a bit. And a few silhouettes...
Time for a nap. I woke up too early, 3:30, just in time to see Mr Blackbird start his flypasts.
A nice hot cuppa first, I think...

Thank you. Got to love a one pot easy cleanup recipe. It balances out all the kitchen mess made by World King.Hello from what an Estate Agent might try to call the Exotic East. Splendid digital painting. You could try silicone gel or onion extract on scar tissue and perhaps Vaseline to help keep tissue soft - sun tan lotion will help prevent burning. Wear armored gloves and goggles.Fbg 6.2
Midnight is getting friendlier and more comfortable being here on the swing. He doesn't go to the other end of the garden now and sit on that chair to watch me during the day. He stays on my large swing 24/7, apart from getting his food, taking a leisurely walk round the garden, coming up to me when I am working in my raised bed vegetable garden, or he sits on my coir mat by my feet when I am sitting by my bedroom door.
As far as I am aware he has not left my garden at all in at least 4 days now.
This is his manor.
Merlin number 1 (amber eyed ginger) challenged Midnight yesterday (with the arched back, twisted neck and all that palaver), but Midnight just sat totally chilled out on his swing and watched stoically. Merlin-1 finally crept away, and returned a short while later, accepted whatever terms Midnight had laid down, and ate from the cat diner, which Midnight presides over 24/7.
I have never seen Midnight show any animosity towards any animal, cat nor bird. Mr Blackbird and Mr Magpie come up to the cat food which is a couple of handwidths below where Midnight sits on the swing. They both vocally object to Midnight, but he just sits and watches them. Neither bird has to take that food, there are other (safer) supplies in the garden.
Merlin-1 has just come in this morning, he gave acknowledgment to Midnight, and was allowed to polish off two bowls of cat food.
Yesterday Midnight was very affectionate, and gave me his belly to tickle. No chance, I thought. But finally I did try a little tickle. Mistake on my part. A vice like attack from a black panther on my arm and claws in my hand. I said 'NO' very firmly, and he withdrew his claws and vice like grip immediately. His eyes realised he had done wrong and you could see he was sorry. He hadn't drawn blood. But I still walked away from him, to ignore him, to make my point. And he got down off the swing and followed me. And was miaowing for head scritches. His way of saying sorry, and please don't ignore me. So I scritched his head, and all was forgiven, and he went back to his swing.
Midnight is one of those cats that lashes his tail when he is happy and content and pleased with you. This is disconcerting to me. I cannot tell if I am overstepping the mark with where I am stroking him. I did manage to examine his cut off left ear yesterday (cut off to show he had been neutered), and it really is a botched up job. It is far too low down. There is scarring along where is has been cut and it is very hard, and appears to irritate him. It was not done recently. Maybe it got infected when whatever cat society released him. I will try and find some cream that will possibly help him. Rub that on daily. Is there something that helps old scar tissue?
Second customer of the day is that madman Mr Blackbird, who came in swooping and attacked the feeder the GreatTit and his family feed at. He was frantically trying to empty it of fatballs...
Little Miss, that extraordinary teenage sparrow came in next to the top of my willow tree. She is checking it is safe for both the Bluetits and GreatTit families to come and feed. Mr Blackbird leaves his frenzied attack on the fatball feeder to attack Little Miss who flies off and he gives chase.
Then Mrs Bluetit appears with her two babies, and the father GreatTit appears with his two, and all the four babies are flying around joyously. They leave after being fed. And Mr Bluetit now appears with the one baby he is in charge of. This baby bluetit is very independent, is not being fed by father, unlike the mother Bluetit who has both well behaved babies waiting on a branch and she feeds them alternately. She definitely keeps them under her wing. It looks like a peaceful Chinese painting. The baby bluetit the father is in charge of, tries all the fatball feeders, tries the aphids on the rose bushes. Then father vanishes, and I am watching the baby bluetit anxiously...
Ravens flying overhead, seagulls swirling round and round...
Creative today is a re-working of a digital painting I did a couple of years ago with a double exposure...
Time for another cuppa...

Thanks @ianpspursWelcome to Friday although some of you may be far advanced into your daily routine. We here in the Exotic East are promised some summer so have a song for the season . (Lyrics) Salmon salad day and extra grandchild minding duties today. One 10 month old grandson. Arrangements for nursery and stage school runs appear to be fluid. Wonderfully detailed account of wildlife @gennepher. Thank you for the art, I need to cogitate and deliberate some more on how that makes me feel. @dunelm I hope the ride out and meal yesterday were splendid. Thanks in advance for sharing your art and do enjoy your koffy. My body worked for some lawn mowing and strimming yesterday which pleased me more than I think it should but it is not right to dissemble or cloak things. Enjoy your day and allow everyone else the same privilege.
