What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on another morning of mystery and the anticipation of good things to happen, here in the dark and dangerous north. Grandson has a paper round and passes our house at about the halfway point so he will be here shortly for breakfast. First time was yesterday and then he, Mrs Miggins, our daughter and the girl in the bubble went off into the rain towards Grosmont and a train ride. Mrs Miggins took her official jacket, peaked cap, the thing that opens slam doors and her ticked crimper with her from when she was a Platform Manager so that they could be recycled. I had a pleasant day doing not a lot but did venture out for a bit of foraging down the overgrown isles of the supermarket. Art bit - adding some foliage. Keep well, don’t watch any televised debates, they only cause upset and raise blood pressure. Best make some koffy before the paper boy turns up.

Nice foliage on the trees @dunelm

Morning all. I'm still here and it is still summer so two blessings right there. @alf_Josiah I hope the x-rays go well but maybe eschew @dunelm's advice for now. @gennepher thanks for the kaleidoscope. Good news on your care making Midnight more mobile and rubbing off on his relationship with Jade. @Jojo85 good that fbg is coming down and swerving thewhipped cream is worth a try. Recycling centre for me with the help of No 3 son then more time with his children - more blessings. Take care everyone. Same place tomorrow?
Thanks @ianpspurs

Thanks for the splendid trees. Good news on your Grandson's route allowing for a pit stop to take on board essential nourishment. I hope the train ride goes well. At least Mrs Miggins will have all the gear and a very good idea. Today is the start of a hectic birthday season. Two granddaughters turn 4 within 5 days , they seem very young to be starting school in September. A young man is having a party on Sunday as he will be one on the 3rd. Debates? Calm down dear, they're only commercials.

4.9 this morning. The third fbs in the 4s in a row. Never happened before - although it looks like it is creeping upwards so tomorrow should be back in the 5s.

Relaxing while we wait for daughter and family to arrive.

Threepeat, relaxing and imminent family visit. Very special moments for two wonderful people. Enjoy every second. Richly deserved.

Grab those readings while you can, nice prelude to the arrival of your daughter and family. Wonderful times.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Grandson arrived with his cricket bat and a bottle of linseed oil. We cleaned off the red stains and then we decide that as his bat had a full wrap finish, no oil needed. I am learning a lot about cricket bats. Birthday season - just what grandparents are for. So much to enjoy.

Good luck @alf_Josiah

Thanks

Thanks all. The visit for the x-ray went well, I took provisions for an overnight stay in the holding area, sleeping bag, pillow, portaloo etc, silly me had been watching the media and must have got confused between the channel crossings and the nhs waiting lists, or maybe me, me’s and myself didn’t…..Luckily the x-ray procedure only took about 15 minutes in total.
Mrs J and @gennepher conversed via pm yesterday, pictures were swooped and hopefully said orchids will bloom.

Good morning friends!

Fbg was 5.3 today. I skipped the whipped cream last night so it could have been that possibly? It was just low sugar jelly mixed with cream. It's super low carb but I guess my body just isn't a fan lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Fbg 6.8

I was going to talk about the little birds in my garden and the new visitors, but as I was sitting on the swing with Midnight last night, doing his cuddles and bedtime stories, I noticed something.

It was dusk, so it was getting a little dark, and I noticed coming out of my clematis something moving. A bit late for sparrows I thought. Then out it came, its cute little nose twitching. It was trying to get to the bird feeders. Then a little further along at the next bird feeder which is a squirrel proof one, another mouse who slips through the squirrel proof bars, sits on the prefect flat ledge made just for it, and proceeds to have its nightly feast.

Midnight had been getting a bit fidgety at my side, but suddenly utters his war cry, "Miiiiiiiiiice" and leaps off the swing in the direction of their nest. I have never seen him eat a mouse yet, but he seems to do the same as Popeye did, eat the whole lot, tail and all. Popeye would swallow his mice whole, head first, and the tail was still wriggling as that was the last to disappear. I wonder how Midnight eats his mice?

This morning, as usual, I put out 4 bowls of wet cat food for Midnight and all the strays for their breakfast, and Midnight does his usual of just licking the jelly or gravy round all the chunks of cat meat, and kindly leaving all the meat for the strays. But if Jade is on time she gets one with the gravy or jelly.

Creative today, the kaleidoscope app Laboscope pointed at my water bottle...

Got to love you and leave you.

Catch you later...time for one more cuppa.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and as I used to say if you are unsure of your gender, please check, but not each other and not in public…..
A 5.6 this morning on that meter, do I trust it? Not a chance.
As our regular readers know I sometimes do a bit of woodworking hopefully attached will a picture of a large garden table I made quite a few years ago now, this table is probably the most used thing I have made and get a lot of physical abuse, never verbal.
@gennepher Mrs J says thank you for the virtual flowers.
Stay safe all and apply now for your drought tickets.

Good morning everyone on a lovely bright start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Grandson is already here, having finished his paper round. We have just printed off labels so that he can take his golf clubs to Spain - they go tomorrow, for three weeks. Wibbly wobbly girl in the bubble discovered the game of diving on cushions yesterday - what fun. Well, it was until I heard the words, “you do it grandad”. I wonder if the grass will be dry enough to mow this afternoon - garden bin tomorrow so we ought to make some effort to fill it, or at least have something for the bin men to do. Art bit - some shading in from yesterday. Hope everyone has a splendid midweek, we might get down to the beach today if it’s not too crowded. First though, koffy and then some breakfast for our grandson.
