Oooooh. My ads are for glasses. This morning I had my eye test and chose some new glasses.

Ooooer. How did they know?
(Only at the very bottom of the screen. Win 10 Pro on Google Chrome.)
Women's clothing for me.. :hilarious: I would have expected car parts & music gear..

I've only had ads on the bottom of the page, granted I have not been on that much since the update. Will log in on chrome and see if there is a difference.
In chrome on my desktop PC they are there.. But i've just installed an add blocker extension.. No more.. ;)

ads still there for me on my laptop.
Hi Lucy,

No one likes the invasiveness of unwanted adds.
Can you try an “add blocker” with your chosen browser regarding the laptop? Mine was free to download as an “add on” on my desk top PC. I seem to have no issue with my phone browser (Android.) or iPad.. (without changing anything, setting wise..)

Best wishes.

Where you go your phone goes and you are tracked so you will see ads based on what sort of shops you go in or frequent.

If you want to change the size of the text, change it in the browser for the forum. I use Chrome and it's in the 3 dots settings menu in the in top right hand corner of the page. Half way down the list is Zoom which you can increase / decrease the size of the page in 25% increments this will change the text size.

I do this with most forums I belong to.

This works in most good browsers, I don't think the "app" has been updated yet.
Safari user and totally confused. It’s been a loooong day though

Woo hoo. Avoiding the forum means I’ve dodged the ads.

anyone else getting pm’s from “administrator“ asking what you think of the new look forum? Usually these type of emails go straight in the bin. I’m tempted…very tempted…to reply but holding off so far

Are they PMs within the forum or emails on your general email account?

@Carson_dcuk , @Administrator , is it correct you or another admin are sending PMs to some members asking for feedback on the new forum?
Just double checking because of online safety.

@jjraak and @Mrs T 123 , private messages are just that, private. So no-one except the participants can see them.
I expect the PMs are perfectly genuine, but as a Mod, I'd also like to know what they are about. If you'd like, you could report the message by hitting the report button below it. This will only show the reported message to the team, not any replies you may have given.

Yes, I received the PM it turned out to be a questionnaire. I don't normally fill in questionnaires, however I actually did try but I couldn't get past question 3.

Just reported the pm so you can take a look.
I didn’t go into it but as others are getting them I might do so now.

It was a survey with the usual reductive/simplistic answer options, Impossible to answer in some situations, particularly for long term members. Eg has x y or z improved or deteriorated since joining? Well it depends what point of membership you’re asking about? And may have zero to do with the forum. That and a what else is wrong with you question

I‘m still visible as online even though my privacy selections say to hide that (or it looks that way to me if anyone can confirm this)

I've used an ad blocker for ages now and while it's pretty good at keeping ads at bay, sometimes instead I get a stroppy message from a site telling my to turn my ad blocker off :***: so I beat a hasty retreat instead - which is their loss...
