What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 9.1

I had a bad reaction to one of the ingredients in one of the things I bought in the Polish shop. I didn't see the way one of the ingredients was listed. And it was printed in English. I had read sunflower oil (which I am okay with), but when I checked the ingredient list again (when I could get off the toilet), further down the ingredient list (it was split into 3 sections. The 3rd section was apart from the other two, and in very small writing in brackets like this was the word (rape). My brain never registered that it was rapeseed oil when I was checking before I bought it. So I was ill all day yesterday. I had diarrhoea, stomach pains, stomach ache, hot flushes (they are meant to be a thing of the past now)and bad heartburn. This is every time I eat something with rapeseed oil in, and it is in pretty much everything now. I went to buy some sliced meat in Lidl last week, and it was listed in ham and beef sliced meat.

Oh, and I have powdered bone broth, I bought it awhile ago before I realised rapeseed oil was an issue for me. It didn't make me feel good when I used it, stomach ache and needing the toilet (still in date for another year). i checked the ingredients last night. Rapeseed oil was in the powdered bone broth.

I am losing weight over this. I can afford to lose some weight...

This morning I am off any food totally. There might be another side effect for me linked to the rapeseed oil. It might be the thing that is affecting my taste buds. Before I had that reaction yesterday to the rapeseed oil in that food, my grapes tasted delicious and sweet. I cannot eat the grapes now, they are far too sour. I am not sure what I will be able to eat today.

I will post this now and do my usual post in a few minutes.

back in a bit...
Hope you soon get over the rapeseed oil effect and can get back to your normal self. Ingredients labels are ridiculously small and complicated. No wonder you missed it.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who take giant steps walking on the moon.
Edit
Blood sugars this morning were a 6.6, I know why, if I told you you would get bored.
.
Guess who posted this before he finished typing…….again.
.
Remember it’s Remembrance Sunday, the idiot box might get switched on for Cenotaf ceremony.
Stay safe all.

British..(Welsh ) humour.

Tickled me this morning.

As for fbg...7.1. ..not great not too shabby.

Trying harder lately.
Fewer meds for pain, I'm hoping will make things easier.

Still a half 2mad & Omad kinda guy.

Most days skip the breakfast meal, but always have the evening meal.

Trying to eat more at sittings due to gym (everything saps the energy, just no stamina at the moment )

Previously I used to have jelly (LC) & double cream to fill out a meal (eat till I'm full, calls on insulin less often then snacking later )

So now I'm on the way back, I decided after a meal to fill up on the jelly rather then another portion of food .

Jelly didn't seem enough, but the other night I had no Double cream...mmhh.

Greek yoghurt...ok why not .

Really liked it, so having that more often ...liking the sweet of the jelly v the tang of the yoghurt

Rather filling too .

Pleasant day, all.

That's a word I didn't know, Ian, but I looked it up. Very apt. Since you have keyed it in, and I have read it, it is definitely a word albeit one I'd never heard of before.

Not a good start this morning. My sensor fell off (only on its last day anyway, so not a problem as such). Just use a finger prick test - monitor giving me an error code which, I think, means it needs a new battery. New sensor - wait an hour to get a reading. Ok, I'll just check my e-mails - mouse not working - probably the battery in it as well (I dislike the tracker pad on my laptop so have an old-fashioned mouse attached). Just have to use the tracker pad. Making things more awkward - for the first time in years, I've managed to let my finger nails grow a bit and I keep catching the wrong keys and have to make corrections.

Decided to have a cup of tea and (risky with no idea of my BG) a slice of my fresh wholemeal bread and butter. What's this? Butter's all gone. Ah yes, I had a slice of wh/m bread and butter last night and finished the butter. Forgot to get any more out of the fridge. New pack of butter out, but of course it was far too hard to use and the only butter dishes I have ready to use are metal, but I need to give the butter 30 secs in the microwave. Just have to use yesterday's butter dish, which is heavy glass. So I've had my cup of tea and my buttered bread. Feeling more cheerful now.

Got the the battery out of the mouse and checked it - it's joined the Do-do. Replaced it, but had to shut everything down before it would register, but it is working now. Can't see how to get the battery out of the BG monitor so that I can see if I have a suitable replacement. I'll have to wait until Neil resurfaces to see if he can do it.

Em has been here overnight so I'm about to make some bacon pancakes for her to have with some syrup. She's still out for the count though, so there is time in hand.

Checked BG - it's 11.4. That's after insulin and the slice of bread and butter.

A mild bright afternoon, so after walking down the road to look in the river from the bridge we came back and sat on the garden seat looking up into the trees in the front garden. Not much to see until a roaming band of Long-tailed **** went across garden.
A flock of Fieldfare from Scandinavia around at the moment consuming all the Holly berries in the area came back as we went inside.

Have found my breathing poor just recently and working in the garden very difficult but my right lung collapsed some years ago now.

But life is wonderful even if gets difficult.
One day at a time sweet Jesus.

A rather prudish deletion. :)

BG 7.6 it dropped to 7 two hours after Breakfast yogurt and berries
Then BG before evening meal 5.9 meal was pot-roast with carrots and turnips and leeks
Two hours after evening meal it shot upto 10.6 no carbs all day only in vegetables.
Makes you want to give up I just can’t win whatever I do even with the 40mg of Gliclizide in a morning now. K

Carrots, turnips, leeks. All contain carbs and, if you are susceptible, can very easily put BG up. Perhaps have fewer vegetables and more proteins/fats in your pot roast serving?

I'm currently having the opposite problem - my BG is dropping despite having various things to try to boost it. It just won't come up above 3.9. I took my normal full dose (60u) before my meal. BG was 7.9 before hand. I had pork belly and onions (fried) and a slice of wholemeal bread. BG dropped 21/2 hours later to 3.9 (Libre and finger prick) and just won't come up despite a milky coffee and 2 sweet biscuits (sore throat now because the biscuits were too sweet). If all else fails, I'd better make some meusli (oats should do it).

Hello everyone from a currently grey and misty start to the day here in Uncle Sam's outpost within the Exotic East of England. Good news from Nevada imho. @gennepher very gentle hug for the gastric issues. I assume you have carried out a lat flow test just in case? Thank you for persisting until you could share that autumnal creative. Keep up the fluid intake today. @dunelm wonderful fbg and art. I hope the balance of your memories, thoughts and emotions this Remembrance Sunday is positive. @Krystyna23040 enjoy Sheringham Park and any Bush tucker coffee or sausage rolls you may win in your trials. As I type, I am drinking my black tea. England have taken a wicket and shortly the oven which JKP set last night will begin cooking the goose. Thanks be to God for His mercies to me. Enjoy your own unique mercies and pleasures today. Same place tomorrow everyone?
We did enjoy Sheringham Park and the Bush tucker we won in our trials @ianpspurs.
At 11am, by a stroke of luck, we just arrived at one of the viewing areas and did our 2 minutes silence looking out over the North Sea.
