What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Just a quick post.

No FBG as awaiting delivery of strips ...my failure to not order in time .

Spotted a news item..

Big pharma is something I'm sure we on here have all heard about

"Dope sick" series (worth the watch ) documented the opioid epidemic in the US

A docu/film about the family & company responsible for the epidemic won an award

Little people sometimes win.
Does that include those who come out a cat flap with a ten on?

Good morning everyone from that confusion that is 12th Night. Time to get those decorations down if you have not already done it. Here in the dark and dangerous north we have already had the cavalcade of the bin men, blink and you will miss it. All the best to @ianpspurs on his journey across the fens in search of the great level and a successful outcome. Art bit - some detail added. Have a great day if you can. I have already had koffy.

All the cats have decided that the surprise jelly Whiskas is their preferred choice. I haven't opened the other box yet - it has different flavours.

Nighttime Trail Camera.
Cats & Fox interactions
Cat on the swing, Jade, appears to be comfortable with very close interactions with the fox.

Creative is a painting with ZenBrush3.
I was playing with colours yesterday. The only thing with ZenBrush3 is that there are a limited amount of undo strokes, sometimes it is 3, sometimes is 5 undo strokes. With Procreate and other apps there are often many undo strokes. And I often use layers in these apps to experiment with the next stage of the painting.

But in ZenBrush3 there are no layers either. At the moment I am using a more English way/techniques of painting in ZenBrush3. I find it a lot easier to do traditional Chinese painting or Sumi-e in ZenBrush3.

Then in the morning, I might spend another hour finishing the painting depending on my thoughts and mood for the day.

I am experimenting my way at the moment, and seeing what transpires.

It was windy and rainy last night, and so I didn't put my recycle bags out last night, otherwise they would've scattered to the 4 winds. Just got them out now, the wagon can come just before 7am...

Time for a cuppa...

Have your best day you can!

Love the creative. I no longer have a drawing/painting package since I transferred to a laptop from a big old-fashioned desktop (CRT) used for desktop publishing. I wasn't very good at the artwork anyway. Not even sure if the old one is still operational but it is still stuck on the corner desk, taking up valuable space - dominating the space, in fact. I was fond of that old machine and haven't the heart to get rid of it - even if Neil would let me - he collects old computers and old keyboards (musical ones).

Drawing for me, these days, is by hand - really old-fashioned and I don't do it very often. I so admire the artwork that you do, Gennepher and the pleasure it gives everyone.

It's coming along and looking more interesting day by day. Still not sure if it is a river or a road down there. It is showing signs of a canal, of course, so perhaps that's what it will end up as.

FBG 12.9 (It was 13.4 last night). Very short night, new pain kept me awake - bed at midnight, up again at 2.45. Had to keep my left foot pressed down onto the cold kitchen floor to ease this new pain. Might be varicose veins in my foot. Can't fremember now how painful v.veins were. Very, I think. Just one more thing to be endured.

Home again, home again jiggity jig. Thanks for the good wishes @gennepher @jjraak @dunelm and @alf_Josiah - if I missed you I'm so sorry. Nan London is now being discharged later today so JKP will see her and NL will spend a little of her 93rd birthday with her daughter, at least one grandson and probably 2 great grandchildren. @jjraak the venerable Old RR handles those roads far better than the Sportage. Some massive potholes and subsidence but probably "wouldn't spill a drop." One "dip" marooned a bus for two days last summer. Filled in but now sinking again. See attached - not really a surprise. @alf_Josiah I hope the teabagomenter did the trick. @dunelm I'm liking the reassuring solidity of that structure. @Annb hug for the pain but winner for the positive attitude.

Yes, mind those trees @Krystyna23040

It is wild and wet and windy here as well.

Enjoy your day back at work!

Remember to take your breaks/rests!
Yes, @gennepher as I get older the breaks and rest time are becoming more and more important. I just need to remind myself to take the breaks and that I am no longer 'Wonder Woman'

Thanks @Annb for the lovely compliments.

Good morning from a now calm, dry but very particular sub region of the Exotic East - y'all saw the map. Today Jim Reeves (WTMW) plays Only Connect in my internal battle to understand/cope with What Just happened?: sorry Marina, I didn't buy it yet. So, just what connects Kevin McCarthy, Newt Gingrich, Roger Ailes, Donald Trump, N Farage, D Cummings Esq, B Johnson, The Mercers, Cakeism and the chaos seemingly engulfing UK Plc? Spite and vaulting ambition which o'erlaeps itself are decent shouts. Somehow I just know LC food is mixed up in there. Moving on. @gennepher wonderful, timely gift and thanks for the creative. @dunelm thanks for the latest artwork and seemingly positive news on the echocardiogram - entirely different sound minus his Bunnymen. @Krystyna23040 yes, avoid the trees and as Genn says take your breaks. That was the only advice I was given by the person allegedly in charge of my probationary year. @Annb thanks for asking after my Granddaughter who is/was fine when last seen and very much heard. She will be here later after school with her brother. Hug for the mobility issues which Move More seemingly exacerbates (initially one hopes). Nan London is still in the isolation ward but has definitely not regressed. The drugs leave her confused at times. At others she is sharp as a tack..Tomorrow is her 93rd birthday and JKP may be allowed to visit. Today is my retinal scan about which I'm ambivalent but I'd rather meet my maker with my eyesight intact. Enjoy, celebrate, grin and bear or some cocktail thereof your day. Veganuary - we are still munching through a few ribs of beef and W******* were/are discounting red meat heavily. What just happened indeed. Poem and artwork here: ( Let's not fall out Linda, reading Isaiah 61 is more my style but I "get it") Assam time.
* Nan London is out of isolation:woot::woot:
Hope the scan goes well @ianpspurs

I.love this painting. You can feel the coldness of the winter scene.

Good morning everyone. Very quiet in here this morning and very calm, bright and promising outside here - sunny intervals and a moderate breeze. Today Nan London is 93. JKP is waiting to hear if hospital will allow a visit but the main thing is she, NL, is being treated and making progress @gennepher good news that the cats enjoy the surprise gift and that you met the recycling deadline. Thanks for the creative and insight into how that was produced. I like the light blue (Cambridge Blue?) Today I am off across very Fenny Fen roads - literally sinking in places - for more immunotherapy. Chased up missing appointment yesterday and was given some options so all good for me but obviously not for everyone. Need to fit around potential visit to Addenbrookes, school pickup then feed and water two grandchildren. Two car day, thanks be to God for that blessing. Today's poem and art last one tomorrow - hope some have enjoyed them just as poems and art. Peace be with you all.
Good that Nan London is making progress. Hope JKP can visit her today.
