What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good afternoon from a manic Monday of a morning here in the dark and dangerous north. Girl in the bubble has decided that Chicken Pox needed a go. So, quick check in NHS website and down into town. We have two pharmacists and according to NHS website both are open - oh no they’re not - must be pantomime season. So, back home (bonus 3 mile walk). Upshot is that camomile lotion and antihistamine linctus has now been obtained. Art bit - it’s all in the detail. Enjoy the remains of the day, I should have another koffy, I deserve another koffy - but - it’s past the yard arm and I dearly want to have a nap.

Here in France they sell a homeopathic remedy for chicken pox. Sorry i cant remember the name. Its supposed to reduce syptoms. Might be worth you checking if anything similar is available. Also there is a specific anti itch gel for chicken pox and this I bought in UK.
Hope the girl in the bubble has a mild dose. Chicken pox can be awful.

What happened to Brexit and the bus with 350 million per week being put into the health service rather than the EU
I have a bridge (or two) for sale from the same supplier if anyone is interested. The official narrative now is "surely no one actually believed that.?" That was 4 PMs ago in an age we must not mention. This one is summed up by the attached.

I was locking up yesterday afternoon, when I realised there was a box outside, blocking the cat flap. It was an Amazon parcel addressed to me. I hadn't ordered anything, so, I was puzzled.

It was two long boxes of Whiskas cat food. No message in the box, and I am currently unable to find out who sent it to me.

It is a totally welcome unexpected surprise, which is greatly appreciated. Midnight approves, and so does Jade and Ammy - they had first dibs!

So, a heartfelt thank you for whoever and wherever this came from.

Wildlife nighttime camera - Cats and Fox.
Cats are Midnight who is patrolling, Jade who sits on the swing, and Ghost Cat
Fox is Foxy Loxy who is always constantly searching for something or someone...

Creative is Midnight in ZenBrush3
He was sitting in front of me, and I was trying to get his accurate shape, shifting the digital paint this way and that way, and using the digital rubber! After 10 minutes, he said that's it, and came over and sat on my painting arm and hand.

Going to join Midnight in a nap now.

Have your best day.

What a thoughtful & unexpected present, @gennepher.

Wish I'd thought of sending it, but I doubt many give enough info to get such a package to the right address or person .

Whoever sent it, certainly knows how generous you are sharing with the wonderful menagerie in that Magical Garden of yours.

Nice portrait of midnight, too

Thanks for Midnight's compliment @jjraak

I have asked some obvious suspects who I know have my address, but they say no it wasn't them.

But I do belong to Postcrossing where we exchange postcards, and there is my penfriends, so there are a potential another thousand people who have my address...although none of those address details are published online.

I have posted this thank you in a few places, so it is possible the giver might see it.

But if I were giving something as a surprise, I wouldn't let on, and keep it as a mystery ...

I am not much of a secret am I?

Thank you @SlimLizzy for letting me know. The girl in the bubble seems to be doing OK with what her mum has on hand - camomile, petrolium jelly and some antihistamine linctus.

What a wonderful surprise from a thoughtful friend - smashing of Midnight to sit for you.

@ianpspurs, wondering how your granddaughter is doing now. I do hope she is feeling much better. And @dunelm, hope your little one is feeling much better. Chickenpox is one of those things we were encouraged to catch but it left a lot of kids with scars - small fingers have very sharp nails and c.pox brings them into action. Alistair still (at 53) still carries the scars he inflicted on himself at the age of 2.
FBG 12.9 - that's after a last reading yesterday of 13.0.
Legs still refusing to work very well today, but I am managing to hobble around a bit. Better not overdo it though. My pains have become worse since I started doing the little "Move more" exercises that Kirsty Wade and the physiotherapist gave me to do over the holiday. It's probably the kind of thing I should try to push through, but I'm not so sure that works in my situation.

Good morning everyone on what looks to be a fine and breezy day here in the dark and dangerous north. It’s Watt Tylers birthday today. I wonder if he would, today, have super glued his hands to the ground in Smithfield Market - it’s all the rage and might have saved him. Echocardiogram went well (the sonographer did not shout “oh my god” and press a big panic button) , so back to the hospital next week for results. Our beaches have been very crowded over New Year so we have given them wide berth - might get out there today especially if the funicular is open. Art bit - another beginning. Have a smashing day if you decide to. I shall finish my koffy and then make a mug of tea to take to Rip Van Miggins.

An interesting beginning there, @dunelm. Will it be a bridge over a river or canal, or over a road? Not so disorienting as the stairs to (no)where. Glad the echo-cardiogram sounds to have gone well.

Glad the echocardiogram went well @dunelm
A snake canal bridge! There is one near here...

Good morning from a now calm, dry but very particular sub region of the Exotic East - y'all saw the map. Today Jim Reeves (WTMW) plays Only Connect in my internal battle to understand/cope with What Just happened?: sorry Marina, I didn't buy it yet. So, just what connects Kevin McCarthy, Newt Gingrich, Roger Ailes, Donald Trump, N Farage, D Cummings Esq, B Johnson, The Mercers, Cakeism and the chaos seemingly engulfing UK Plc? Spite and vaulting ambition which o'erlaeps itself are decent shouts. Somehow I just know LC food is mixed up in there. Moving on. @gennepher wonderful, timely gift and thanks for the creative. @dunelm thanks for the latest artwork and seemingly positive news on the echocardiogram - entirely different sound minus his Bunnymen. @Krystyna23040 yes, avoid the trees and as Genn says take your breaks. That was the only advice I was given by the person allegedly in charge of my probationary year. @Annb thanks for asking after my Granddaughter who is/was fine when last seen and very much heard. She will be here later after school with her brother. Hug for the mobility issues which Move More seemingly exacerbates (initially one hopes). Nan London is still in the isolation ward but has definitely not regressed. The drugs leave her confused at times. At others she is sharp as a tack..Tomorrow is her 93rd birthday and JKP may be allowed to visit. Today is my retinal scan about which I'm ambivalent but I'd rather meet my maker with my eyesight intact. Enjoy, celebrate, grin and bear or some cocktail thereof your day. Veganuary - we are still munching through a few ribs of beef and W******* were/are discounting red meat heavily. What just happened indeed. Poem and artwork here: ( Let's not fall out Linda, reading Isaiah 61 is more my style but I "get it") Assam time.
* Nan London is out of isolation:woot::woot:

Thank you for asking @Annb. She is doing quite well thanks. Her mum clipped her nails and puts cotton mittens on her hands when she goes to bed. Hopefully she will be back to her usual bouncy self be the end of the week.
