Why have they admitted you?I really can't express how thankful I am towards the people on here. The best I can say do is say thanks and please know that I mean it. Now for days of ****** hospital food (I've been admitted)![]()
Though unless there is someone else there to give it, its no use, not something you can use yourself afaikIf you haven't got glucagon at home, I'd suggest asking for a prescription for that before you leave hospital
You can, although it's hardly ever necessary (if you can take glucagon you can have something sweet as well).Though unless there is someone else there to give it, its no use, not something you can use yourself afaik
That's why I don't have any, I live on my own, no-one to give it to me for 95% of the time
You are very welcome. Glad you're OK and looking forward to the wonderful food served in hospitalsThank you @KennyA
They admitted me because of the low blood sugar I assumeWhy have they admitted you?
Let us know how you're doing!
To be honest this can just happen, could be any number of things which may not be identifiable after the factThey couldn't explain why the BGL was low.
Is hitting a blood vessel an issue? I do know that with my rapid insulin inject last night before dinner there was blood. This is not something that normally happens and not something I mentioned at the hospital: I'd forgotten about it until just now that you mentioned itTo be honest this can just happen, could be any number of things which may not be identifiable after the fact
Maybe you hit a blood vessel when taking your insulin, maybe you were just using up more glucose than normal for whatever reason or your body was being more efficient with the insulin, maybe the food you ate actually had quite a bit less carbs in it that you thought, maybe you accidentally had slightly more units that you thought you did - and yes I'm sure many of this have had/done these before. Or maybe something else entirely, yes a lot of 'maybe's
Well it means it would likely work a lot lot faster than it otherwise would if it goes straight into the blood streamIs hitting a blood vessel an issue?
