What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Just noticed that predictive text has inserted irrelevant into my post. Predictive text is so annoying sometimes.
Predictive text and predictive grammar is the most absolute annoying thing ever.

And I typed an email to offend the other day, and it was absolutely correct when I typed it, because I spellcheck it myself, but between those few seconds before I pressed the send button it has changed a lot. And when I went to read it from the sent folder it was not what I had said. And I had to send an immediate apology....

Look what it has just done there in second paragraph "And I typed an email to offend the other day..."

What I just actually wrote was "And I typed an ego to send the other day..."
It has altered it again...
NOT "ego", "email"...

I am convinced either the programmers or AI are having a laugh at our expense...

My friend typed me a reply...and AI had some fun with that...

Good morning everyone from another predicted 10 degrees today but I shall still be wrapping up in layers are we are off out, out. One of mum’s friends is picking us up for a trip to the sea side and a sea food restaurant where all manner of creatures can be chased around your plate to the sound of ooh la la and some galic shrugs. 5.8 on the scales of doom this morning so best not have any more Leffe - yes, I know but hey! Art bit - not a lot done but I don’t mind. Hope your day is kind to you. I simply must have some koffy.

Sounds like a grand trip to the seaside @dunelm
A paddle on the menu?

Better warm up with your coffee first....

Sounds like a great day out. Have fun chasing those fishy things around your plate and enjoy looking at the sea, but keep warm - it's not exactly equatorial out there.

When I used the "Word" word processor, predictive text could be a problem, but that was a relatively old version and it wasn't too much problem. I currently use the "Libre" word processor - not quite as "clever" as the current "Word" and it doesn't have predictive text (or if it does, it doesn't turn on automatically and I haven't found it yet). From what I have heard, the up-to-date version of Word is a pain in the neck.

Edit: Does this site use our own word processing software? If not, it doesn't seem to cause me any problems. It does highlight words it thinks I have misspelled, but doesn't insist on corrections.

Happy national bin day Ladies and Gentlemen.

A 5.8 this morning on that meter of etc, etc, etc, this was fuelled by a large lump of cheese just before bed last night.

Their seams two bee a few moans and groans today about predoctive toxt and grammer. Four someone like myself who’s knowledge off spelling and grammer is a tripefull lacking predictive text and grammar is helpful and a useful indicator as to what and how a word is spelt and how it is used.

Now it is time for me, me’s and myself to depart.
Stay safe, remember its still very dangerous out there politicians and the media are loose.

Fbg 6.5

Because I don't really want any Amazon parcels coming in the dark now, for obvious reasons. I paid £5 something to get it before 1 pm delivery today. I shall see how that works out and if they stick to it. And if they do, then I shall save my potential Amazon purchases, to get a larger amount to make it worth it, and then I'll pay for that before 1 pm delivery. Because it is peace of mind that it's not going to come at 10 pm at the dark of night, which mine often tended to come late in the evening.

This will be a strategy for the dark winter evenings. Once we have longer daylight evenings, then I will go back to the free whenever it arrives system...

Email just said it is out for delivery, but no more accurate delivery time given, just says before 1pm...I need to move to the front room...now...

Well, that was pretty good.
Parcel came before I had finished putting everything in the front room by the couch, and making my cuppa tea.
It was more than worth that extra delivery fee. To arrive so early. Stress free. I will try it again very soon. I am not very far from their parcel hub, so there is a chance I might be almost first on their list every time.

Wildlife nighttime camera...
Cat Merlin - doesn't it ever stop raining round here?

No it doesn't Merlin...it rains virtually every night. Poor Jade is soaked...at least you are dry, and can get your cat biscuits under cover...

Creative is something drawn on my first iPad bought in 2010. It was only 16 GB. No camera. And I used that for 6 years! It still works. Still got all my original apps. I keep it charged and backed up, so hopefully I can reinstall if ever needed.
Anyway, I played around with it this morning...and this is what you get!!!

Time for a cuppa....
Have the best day you can...

Hi Genn.

Because I've been tinkering with scooter in street, I see the delivery drivers .

Very few seem to come in the Amazon wagons, most look like van owners freelancing

I wouldn't be surprised if many are either doing it part time after work of sharing use of a company van (a few are liveried up with signs for the owners other business )

So many of them arrive, towards the back end or later of the day .

Liking your plan for winters darker nights ...worth the money in group purchase for the peace of mind

Definitely it is having a laugh at our expense. The worst one was when a friends dog went deaf and I sent a text saying how sorry I was that her dog was now deaf. Predictive text changed deaf to dead. Luckily my friend thought that it was funny.

Same here. I am often by front window if sun is shining. And I see a lot of white/unidentified vans delivering from late afternoon. They are trying their hardest, the drivers, to make ends meet. And what is problematic for me when a white van stops and someone comes out after dark and up my driveway, I don't answer the door. I'll wait till the driver comes back to the white van, and then I go out and they've left it outside my door, the Amazon parcel.

And that is very stressful for me because I am looking left right and centre just in case, when I get the parcel because sometimes they leave it in the front garden when they're supposed to leave it at the side door.

For this playing a relatively small sum of money for safety, for it to be delivered in daylight in the morning, it's incredible peace of mind for me.

I always have a list of staples that I need in my Amazon basket, like cat food and my food, and when I need something for myself, I can now just add it to that and then I've got my quantity I need to make paying extra for this delivery worthwhile...

Morning all on a very sunny day here in what isn't really anything I understand as East Anglia or The Brecks as a whole. It is just a very odd/unique little area. Not exactly a surprise given all the contributory factors. My bg was 4.8 from the blood samples yesterday but it was "collected on 08/02/2023 11:40 from Venepuncture (Serum) " (yes, like Hermione I checked this out earlier for a little light reading) and "resulted on 08/02/2023 22:32." I wasn't technically fasted - I had some almond milk in my huge mugs of tea - good hydration makes blood sample collection easier I'm told. Given the method and time delay before analysis anything up to .5 could be added. Seems as though I have a loose handle on this bg malarkey. @gennepher good news on the parcel and the sound plan for the darker evenings. Thank you for that creative which has a kind of art noir beauty. I'm going slightly native. @dunelm not a bad fbg after #Leffegate.and thanks for the art. Enjoy the seaside and seafood. We once had an amazing day and meal at Lacanau. Celeriac chips were duly eaten yesterday but the plan to avoid salty sausages was scuppered by the logistics of feeding 2 grandchildren plus their parents.to a tight deadline. Try again today. Enjoy your day as much as humanly possible but don't pretend you are living your best life just for social media.

Thank you Ian
Thanks for the painting compliment...

I should have included this in my earlier post - relates to putting on a show for others. My sympathy for those growing up in the instagram/Tik Tok, whatevs era. So many Golden Calves, innit. Party Bros ( nice, subtle? link with football's 200 PL goals club trio all being white? Andy Cole and Thierry Henry conveniently didn't happen?) make good tight ends but not PMs although both make loadsa money. Someone once said the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? Some excellent examples of doing just that on here. Very hard work at times. Everyone tries and everyone fails (at times) - Jess Glynne again. Wise young lady IMHO.

FBG at 3.20 am was 9.6. A bit of a wobble down then up to 10.9 but now, after breakfast, it's 7.8.

Fairly bright day here at the moment, although it was very wet and windy when Em came at 7.30 this morning, and even when she went to school at 8.30. At least the wind was behind her as she went up the road so it must have been from the south west. The constant wind is affecting the temperature in the house. The kitchen is warm enough, but the rest of the house is pretty cold.

There are advantages and disavantages living here on the Islands - one disadvantage is the transport problem when the weather is bad, or when the ferry breaks down; one advantage @gennepher, is that other than in the town, we don't really need to lock our doors, or wonder who is there late at night. I do have a set of keys but they have never been used other than when we went away to the mainland for something. Even then, we left the back door open for Alistair to get in with the post. When we first came here, even in town, nobody locked their doors, although the children's swings were padlocked on Sundays - children were supposed to be indoors being taught about the Bible on Sundays, not playing outside.

Went to Carlisle hospital this am to get my new hearing aids. When I get use to them it will be an impressive change I will be able to hear warblers again.

Then I took Marjorie to Gretna Gateway... We haven't been for some years, it was very poor and I couldn't get her to spend any money.

Keswick would have been better

Anyway I am gradually extending my radius from home again in the car.
