FBG 8.3 AT 4.35 this morning.

Tea, pain killers with extra codeine. Currently BG 7.3. That's after a bowl of soup for breakfast. Would have had something else, but it was in a pot, ready to go, so it was the easy option.

I wouldn't normally take a 2nd dose but just took a regular sized dose of pain relief because I really don't want it to get back to yesterday's level of pain. Weak I know, but I'm no masochist.

Failed to get an appointment for a GP phone consultation today - less than 5 minutes after they switched on their phones and I was too late. Have to try again tomorrow. This is a new way they are issuing appointments. Latterly they were allowing phone calls from the GP at their convenience and we were (usually) called back the same or the next day and the GP would decide if we needed to actually be seen. Not entirely satisfactory, but it worked after a fashion. Now they are issuing on-the-day phone appointments - only on that day so once they are gone for the day, they are gone and that's it. Try again tomorrow. I can see many more people going to A&E as a result. Anyway, I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can get in quickly enough to beat the opposition.

Must admit am getting more and more anxious about an appointment at City hospital on Thursday where the doctors want to discuss the scaring on my lungs and medications to combat it.

Four grandchildren here today reducing to two for the next two days. Childcare and social care for parents is the legacy of the Grantham Grocer's daughter for plenty of my (our?) generation and my extended family. I'm pretty sure we/they all knew but many wrongly thought it would be someone else to pay for their tax cuts. How's that working out with care costs and deposits for kids homes? The sting in the tail is the attached and the problems @Annb highlights. Where did that money promised on the side of the red bus get to fella?. A tin foil container.
I used to use cats dishes to feed the cats. But I had to wash them, and sterilise them, obviously, and the fox often left his little message in my dishes. Very impolite of him considering he was eating from them. So, as I cooked in foil dishes so that the pan is not that dirty, I thought why not use them for feeding the cats the next day which is what I did. And the foxes love those noisy, shiny dishes...

She is fine. Seems to have grown noticeably in less than a week. She is still not wanting to be stroked or inclined to sit on laps though. Let's us both know with teeth and claws! Not at all the relationship I wanted.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who question the GP appointment system. Also how we arrived at it.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.5. It would be rude not to say thank you to that meter.

Mentioning meters our smart meter was installed yesterday morning, by a guy from Krakow, reasonably good accented english, he worked tidily and efficiently and didn’t object to me sitting on a chair watching him work. Mrs J made a comment when I asked him if he would like the use of my lead light when he had disconnected the electricity, he politely declined with a wry smile.

Now the monitor is a wonder, with me wondering how much various pieces of electrical equipment cost per hour and satisfying that wonder, by wandering around Tilehurst Towers switching equipment on and off. It is easy to see how one or all six of me could become fixated with this piece of equipment.

Do I trust the motives by the electricity supplier, a resounding no is the answer. Time will tell.

Today I have been taken to a supermarket and banished to the koffy shop and am only now at 14:39 managing to drink my 10:30 constant tea, the tea is the constant the time is the variable. Please don’t panic I have had my safety koffy.

Stay safe all and look for the positive in life by avoiding the media.

Do you have a call back facility on your phone? This allows your phone to automatically redial when an engaged number becomes free.

No, we have redial, but not call back.
Hypo just now. Shouldn't be because BG is at 3.9. Unusual to have symptoms at that level. Had a packet of crisps when it started to drop to try to halt it, then a banana. Still feeling shaky and loud heartbeat. Very odd. Normal hypo level for me is 3.4. I know it's not so far off but it is unusual. Obviously got the insulin dose wrong at lunch time.

Trying to work out the correct insulin dose is a nightmare. When I was on insulin I could never understand how blood sugars after identical meals could vary so much.

Went to Carlisle dermatology today, they suspect I have a melanoma and it has to come out urgently.
But I am due to have my pacemaker changed on 3rd March so there is a conflict and they can't use Radio Frequency cutting.
Marjorie has photographed the lesion and it certainly looks like a melanoma to me.

Our walk around Oxburgh was lovely in the sunshine. There were so many snowdops. I don't think that I have ever seem that many there.

Mr K then had a brilliant idea - lunch at The Twenty Church Wardens after our walk. I had trout fillets and salad - delicious. Now home and relaxing and reading with a coffee. A perfect day.

4.20 pm - BG now 4.5. Had to have a jelly baby to get it up to this level. BG rose to tht level by just after 3 pm but I still felt really bad, so I took a jelly baby, which should have pushed BG up by 2 or 3 whole points. No effect at all. Feeling a bit better, but all aches, still heavy heart beat and a bit shaky. Have to think about what to do next. Maybe a cup of tea and sit in the big chair for a bit before thinking about making a meal.

I can assure you that it will be a love/hate relationship with that smart meter Alf.

Mine has landed in the naughty corner again, because it keeps telling me I have exceeded my weekly budget and scrolls that accusingly non stop constantly across the entire screen. It is lucky I haven't taken my hammer to it. Yet, I look online on the energy site, and that tells me the energy supplier are happy with me as I will be in credit at the end of their financial year.
