What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.6

Finally uploaded to YouTube. It will allow me to upload now.

On these 2 sd cards, cat Merlin guards the swing all night ...
A new small ginger cat wanders through. He looks at the swing in passing...
Merlin lets the regular stray cats to feed off the cat biscuits on the swing.
Although he has words to say to bully cat Marmalade.
Neither the foxes nor badger tried to feed off the swing, and left those cat biscuits alone. Both fox and badger drank water...
Merlin seems to have kept an orderly swing all night.

Now, I need to look at the next two sd cards, where I think the swing might not have been so orderly...

Creative is #3 Lighthouse digitally painted...

Although I have a lot of reference material of lighthouses from the UK and from the States (I have a friend who send me frequent envelopes of lighthouses in the USA and Canada, and also lighthouse memorabilia), these digital paintings I am doing from the comfort and warmth of my bed (propped up comfortably with cushions), I am not painting exact representations of the lighthouses. And I am only interested in the actual lighthouse itself, not the house or indeed the mansion that is attached to many lighthouses from the States.

My childhood memory of lighthouses is like Beachy Head lighthouse, painted red and white. Just the lighthouse in stormy waters in the sea with no buildings attached to it. I had an emotional attachment to lighthouses as a child. I have no idea why. And so this, combined with the stories/history I read on the one I am painting that day, determines the mood of the painting. And I won't be saying which lighthouse has been the inspiration for that painting...these lighthouses are for my morning meditation.

Time to start the day.

Just finishing my last cuppa tea from my nighttime tea flask. It is still hot!

Have your best kind of day...

Still problems uploading.
This one I uploaded a month ago, so I have made it public, so I am still posting every day.

Cat Midnight, Cat Merlin, and Foxy Loxy ...

A lot of activity.
Just after half way through, cat Midnight jumps on the swing, but Merlin is asleep there, so startled Merlin smacks Midnight!

Creative is a lighthouse digitally painted in Procreate....

Now I have to go and clear the mess round the swing outside. Stuff had been pulled off in the night. But I have no means of uploading the sd cards to view them to find out what happened until I can get more space on my iPad. And I cannot get more space on my iPad until I can upload those videos I had already edited up on to YouTube. And only then I can delete unwanted videos off my iPad...

Time for a cuppa and a nap...

Smashing - we did a tour of lighthouses in Northern France and then down the coast as far as La Rochelle - some interesting ones.

Good morning everyone on another bright and beautiful start here in the dark and dangerous north. A 5.4 on the gom jabbar this morning and that after a couple of Bratwurst with pickles and a dollop of kimchi. Tuesday - what to do on a Tuesday - oh yes, dentist to get my tooth fixed. Art bit - a couple of lines for filling in later on. Have a smashing day if you can. I shall drink koffy and over brush my teeth.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen from what is now known as Covid Central, well till we start testing-ve.
@dunelm good luck at the dentists, we once had a dentist who’s surname was Pegg !

This mornings reading was a solid 5.7 .
All is quiet at the moment and not much is happening so I bid you all well, stay safe and if in doubt run for the hills.

6.8 this morning. Have got a lovely long break between classes this afternoon so will be able to have a meal in the pub across the road. Usually I only have time on a Tuesday to dash across for a coffee.

Now must knuckle down and reluctantly tackle the admin.

Good luck for the toof....

8.5 this morning at 2.30. Hasn't risen very far - currently (9.30) it's only reached 8.9. My own fault, after a disorganised day yesterday. It was the day for making the food for this afternoon's event. The savoury food was not a problem - I made jewelled rice, but the rice was cauliflower rice, and a butter bean and pecan sauce to go with it. On the other hand, I made lots of cupcakes and made butter icing to top them with - that involves piping bags and nozzles, often a bit of a messy business; also involves checking the flavour of the butter icing. Result - I ended up with only the very early breakfast and nothing for the rest of the day, but BG was still running highish all afternoon and evening.

Neil is ill today - it started yesterday afternoon. Doesn't look like Covid and it may be just a cold exacerbated by his blood pressure problems and having breathed in paint fumes from a job he was doing. He is keeping to his room, wrapped up warm for now. Alistair has volunteered to take the food to Stornoway for me shortly, Luckily he has a day off today. He was hoping to get help from Neil to do some plumbing in his house, but will just do some work on the dog containing fence instead.

Sunny start here, yeehaw. 5.3 from Swipey today but 2 hrs later. Even so, either this stuff works or it doesn't. Far too many apologists these days often masquerading as influencers. @gennepher good that Youtube now works and thanks for the lighthouse even though the colours scare the whatsit out of me. @dunelm thanks for the pre-filling lines - subliminally linked to dentist? @Krystyna23040 good news on being able to take a break. @alf_Josiah socially distanced hug. Trip to the grave cancelled yesterday now going today. Have a song and video which is how I imagine you wonderful people live your lives. Lyrics

Wildlife nighttime camera

Cats & Fox & Badger
A very busy night.
The cats were feeding constantly on the cat biscuits.
The new small ginger cat appeared again, just walking through, looking at the swing.
The badger, KissyKissy, pulled off Midnight's warm fur fleece on to the rainy wet ground. He played with it, and then left his message on it. He returned many times to leave message after message on the fur fleece.
The fox, Foxy Loxy was surprised this fleece was on the ground. And Midnight was very surprised to find his warm fleece blanket in the wet, in the rain...

That fleece is now soaking in a bucket in the garden, but I think I will throw it away, because that badger will only pull it off again, now that he has 'scented' it.

I have learnt how to make a custom thumbnail, which I am allowed to do now that I have verified myself. It is much better than YouTube's random image of a blurry picture of nothing from your video. So the thumbnail should be the badger, KissyKissy eyeballing Little Ted and just as he is pulling Midnight's favourite fleece off the swing....

Painted in Procreate using a flat brushstroke, syrup brushstroke, driven snow brushstroke (used for the splash on waves, and rainforest brushstroke (used for clouds, the sea, the sky, and the waves). I also used another app when I had finished the painting, DistressedFX to change the colouring a little.

Time for a cuppa.
Have your best kind of day.

smashing. That sky really enhances the wetness in the foreground.

Good morning everyone on what looks to be a bright and sunny start here in the dark and dangerous north. Spent most of yesterday morning wandering around shops and stores but little on my list was available. Pleasant lunch with Mrs Miggins and her twin (not identical so no name badges required - unlike the ninky nonks, Chaos and Mayhem). Sister in law is having to take iron tablets so suggested more spinach, liver, dried apricots and perhaps seaweed although I have seen research to suggest that only Nori and Sea Lettuce have sufficient quantities of iron and vitamin C makes for better absorption. Retinal eye torture this afternoon, what a treat! Art bit, detail added, some colour to be added today. Have a smashing day if you can. Take some time just for yourself. I shall make koffy and then do some exercises.

Hi all,
Have been feeling somewhat under the weather since weekend but have had this severe large scale area on my r.h.s back that has a severe itching rash that the local surgery are not dealing with cos their overloaded.

Nurse practitioner said it could be cellulitis and did bloods, but she was off Tuesday and no follow up. I rang up repeatedly to check if my CRP was up but no clarification. I am classed as extremely vulnerable and the action or non action is simple and quick.

Eldest was going to ring up but I don't want to upset them. Her outlook is, they are professional they should not get upset. :)

Our surgery was rated one of the best a few years ago under the previous doctor who retired. Then there was the pandemic and all the doctors disappear not to appear again and it is mainly nurses now who are very good but that is not good enough.

I remember Hunt? promising GPs would be available 24/7 it's a joke, they turned off the tap well over a decade ago.

Up at 1.30 am, BG then was 5.4. Much better than yesterday. Up to 7.5 by 7 am, but not too worrying. Been busy doing chores since 4 am - mostly clearing up after the effort of making food for the "event". Wasted effort though because I received an e-mail this morning asking if Alistair had delivered it, because it was nowhere to be found. Alistair delivered it all at 5.15 pm - that's 15 minutes after it was supposed to have started, but nobody was there, so he unloaded it all onto a table and left - he couldn't hang around, Em was in a school play and had to be there on time. So, somewhere, there are 4 foil containers of food. I hope they are found before the cauliflower dish goes off.
