Hi all,
Saw nurse practitioner this am, still itching like fury but it's not shingles it is too extensive.
Perhaps allergic reaction to something put on to cleanse me for operation. Bloods done and results will determine if I need antibiotics for Cellulitis a possibility ..I hope not.vShe will ring at 1830 when results in.

Got results for the skin lesion, it is a Melanoma in situ and they took enough tissue to excise the lesion fully and will keep me under observation now.
I do not worry too much, I am in God's hands.
It could have been better news though, but the damage was done over half a lifetime ago

Informative but also winner. I'd never heard of palming, but must give it a go although my hands are pretty well always icy cold. The winner is for the lighthouse. Being a sailor, Tom was always interested in lighthouses and some were fascinating shapes. Some are very plain (the one in Stornoway is squat and plain white but there are plenty of others shaped more exotically. After dark, we can see the light from Cape Wrath away in the distance, on the other side of the Minch. Can't help watching and counting as the light swings around.

Edit: the starlings are nesting again - trip after trip to the eaves of the house with bits of grass in their beaks. They are often quite indignant if they notice us standing inside the window looking at them and wait impatiently, perched on the handrail on the ramp outside, for us to move away, so they can fly up to the nest hole with their offering. Do they think we don't know they are living there, I wonder. When I say perched, I mean they fidget around, almost jumping with their impatience as they wait for us to go away.

One of the herons from Stornoway visited the field across the road from us yesterday. That's a fairly rare event and sent Neil running for his camera.

Yes I watched and counted as the light swept round when I was a child. I had forgotten that bit.
Okay, you have cold hands too. I use a small electric pad to warm my hands first. A hot water bottle on your tummy/lap would work too. Or warming your hands first in a bowl of warm water.
I am in bed lying down, but when I say like down I can't lie down because I can't breathe lying down, so I'm sat halfway up with pillows and stuff. The pillows are important to support your elbows and arms so that you can comfortably palm your eyes without getting shoulder stain, which is what you get if you're sitting upright in a chair and you have arthritis...my hands just slide down, sat in that upright position...
Set aside half hour once a day if you can...it really does help to allow your natural eye lubricant to come out, and makes my eyes comfortable.

You can palm your eyes any time for a few minutes at a time when you are at the computer or reading a book. I do need my arms and elbows supported though.

Could be connected to Pesto Gennovese being rather spiffing - I do hope so. @gennepher thank you so much for the creative and the information about palming. @dunelm as @Annb said, colour really makes sense of what I assume you always intended. Lawn cutting? Far too wet here* but something to look forward to. Now fruit tree pruning and felling are off the menu only gardening of interest. @SlimLizzy I echo your sentiment for @lindisfel. @alf_Josiah hopefully today is the day for -ve(s). Grocery delivery day - wonder if we'll only get our own order this time? Make your own kinda music today but be mindful of the needs and wishes of others. Is that a law, guidance or just words?

Just about ready for my cleaner to come, if she does. She called off yesterday because her little girl was ill. I'll wait for an update today before I finish clearing the floors. Plan was to do the windows as well today, but don't suppose that will be on. Problem with the windows is that we have things built in front of them - built in bookcase, desk, sink unit and so on. That means I can't reach the windows to clean them. I have actually just ordered a gadget which might make me able to reach, if it's any good. Worth trying anyway. Meantime, the windows are filthy, especially the one behind the sink, where I was growing plants but which will remain clear from now on, and the window frames are growing black mould where they have held on to the damp and been too cold. In fact, Neil, although feeling pretty grotty yesterday, took the blind down from that window and cleaned off as much of the mould as he could and cleaned the grime off the window. Looks like a repaint job, once the weather gets warmer so that we can keep the window open.

Edit: multiple typos. Why don't I ever see them until the post is up? Problem is, I learned to type when I had badly bitten finger nails and now that I have, finally, grown them successfully, they keep catching the wrong keys, especially a "g" before a "t".

This covid incarceration is really annoying, I have things I want to do, things I need to make, motorcycle to ride, the fact that I don’t have the energy is neither here or there.
It only seems like day number 17358 of incarceration.

Things could be a lot worse and are for many people.

Now I must depart stay safe all, luckily we have a fantastic lighthouse to guide us.

Am really happy with another 6 this morning - 6.3.
I used to feel that I had failed if my fbg wasn't in the 4s or 5s but since the run of high fbgs it is so lovely to see it dropping down into the 6s. It feels a like a really big win over this horrid T2D.

When everything crashed after ditching the low carbs I was getting fbgs in the 10s and 11s. I was so upset by these numbers that I couldn't post them on this forum - so didn't post numnbers until they were down to the 7s and 8s. It has taken weeks of really low carbs to get into the 6s. Daytime readings have improved enormously also.

Good to hear Mrs J is now testing -ve. MY SIL was fine after the first few days with covid but she continued to test +ve for many days after feeling better. My brother on the other hand, had covid, felt fine all through it and tested -ve very quickly. It's all "in the lap of the gods", so to speak. Maybe Someone wants you to take it easy for a bit.

Decided to let my diabetes nurse know what was happening with my BG readings, and why. I sent an email and I was hoping she would reply and give me my HBa1c result from my last hospital blood test. Had no reply, so maybe she's not talking to me any more.

Kiki had been having fun in my absense. Apparently she held a courting party one night. Neighbours female cat and a visiting Tom. She didnt even come in for dinner or breakfast. I thought her recent operation would reduce attention fromTomcats. There was one came to visit a few days before she was spayed, not seen him since, but now she has somehow attracted very persistant Tom and stopped out all night with him again yesterday.
It's been very wet here, the ground squelches underfoot. MrSlim has done
very well to get my greenhouse up. Sadly it's more flimsy than either of us expected despite the advertised "strong steel frame" and "extra struts to improve stability" Maybe those should have been a red flag?
MrSlim appears to have lived on sweet stuff while I was away... allowing himself to indulge. Ok! shopping trip desperately needed.

Yes, and you can almost see the waves in the cave when you hear the music. Sadly, I never made it there myself, and never will now, but I've been told about others' experiences so have had to live that one vicariously.

Fbg 6.5

On the wildlife camera - Badger & Fox & Cats

A busy night.

All the regular strays had their food early evening, and around dawn. I didn't include every video clip of them because this video would have been very long!

The fox, Foxy Loxy, is often first on the scene when the cats are still feeding. Foxy Loxy jumped on the swing a few times to eat the cat biscuits I put there solely for the stray cats. I do put some on the ground for the foxes and badgers, but Foxy Loxy wants/must have those cat biscuits on the swing.

The same for the badger, KissyKissy (named because he often tries nose to nose contact with the cats, earning him a smack on the face). KissyKissy is absolutely determined to get those cat biscuits from the swing. He tries again and again and again in this video. He knocks over the bucket of drinking water in the process of doing his best efforts in trying to get on the swing. He falls down time after time. He deserves top marks for his determination. At one point, his mate comes along to find out what her hubby is doing. She does not have the same fascination as KissyKissy has with my garden, and cannot see what the attraction is. It seems to me she is looking for a bit of nookie, or at least some attention from her mate, But he doesn't take the hint, and continues hell-bent on getting those cat biscuits on the swing, and she leaves.

Creative is #5 Lighthouse digital painting in Procreate. I tried out a new brushstroke tool - Gesinki Ink, which I used mostly for the waves.
And for the fine scatter of stars, I made a duplicate copy of the Driven Snow brushstroke tool, and altered the different settings within it to create this fine scatter of stars you can see when there is very little light pollution.

Time for a cuppa, and a nap to rest my eyes. I palm my eyes, but first I warm them on my small electric heating pad (because my hands are often cold) and I lie down and palm my eyes. Some info here if you are interested.

Good morning everyone on a very blustery start to International Bin Day here in the dark and dangerous north. Today the garden bin can make an appearance for the first time this year and Mrs Miggins has nicked next doors bin as well as she has been enthusiastically messing about in the garden and yesterday, mowed the lawns. I did helpfully offer to lay string lines but she declined the offer. No idea what she said as it was in a foreign language - probably Doric. Art bit - another one bites the dust Freddy. Have the best Thursday that you can, they only come round once a week. Time for some lofty.
