What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

From my post previously, a little regression.

Been noted I'm a little (lot) more
bristly in my responses.

I noticed it myself, but can't quite put a finger on why, but I do have a working theory.

Perhaps the improvement physically has let me look back at the year or two with some suppressed anger more easily released ?

The viewpoint I thought would change & shift the focus from the time line being the .....

Second (impact)
Minute (a blank after impact )
Minutes (before assistance )
Hour (at site being stabilised)
Day, weeks & month.(in hospital)
Months, year/s (recovering)

if anything that time frame focus has hardened and made me resentful.

Maybe I'm just ( or have been ? ) unconsciously internalising it & only now feel able to leech it out, albeit in an unpalatable way to those undeserving of it...?

Mmhh.
Such a trauma is bound to have affected your emotions, thoughts and responses. Then the slow recovery just makes it more difficult to deal with. Life can feel so unfair/unjust sometimes. It certainly hasn't been kind to you. Exercising and strength building are good ways to go, but maybe some kind of emotional or mental relaxation might help?

Morning

A mixed day weatherwise here.

Rain then sunshine, rinse & repeat throughout day.

Another few days basking in the excellent micro climate on McGarrett plains, as I got another day pass at only $5.6....wot a bargain .

Gym last night went well, again.

Not done any floorwork as the performance of getting up & down is decidedly ungainly & clumsy .

But cajoled by my trainer, I gave the group bridge exercises a go.

I do those on the bed most mornings, but wanting to show willing in class, (and the point made I have to start moving out of my comfort zone re knee pain, spurred me in )

I manage to complete the reps
However the overturned turtle performance didn't go unnoticed.

Unlikely I'll be attempting that again for a little while :(

Enjoy the day, y'all.
I've often heard that God loves a trier. Anyone here is a trier by definition but you, sir, are are a legend. Other ends are, of course, available and easily spotted (wearing MAGA merch or threatening to send the desperate to Rwanda/ram boats/turn back the tide/out Atwater Lee. UK has 99 problems and Golliwogs ain't one of them. ) Loving the y'all touch.

On a slightly different subject

( @ianpspurs look away now .. ;)
)

TV.
Been watching a tad more of late

Never one to just watch mindlessly, I have to buy in to anything on telly

Slow horses, very engaging.
Twd, the Last kingdom, vikings, reacher & banshee all hit the mark in various ways

Had noted the 'Terminal list ' Amazon

One review had put me off it.

Gave it a go last night....and yo.
I found my new TV fix

Who knew young star lord, guardian of the galaxy's glib cheeky quip king, could actually do gavitas.

Really enjoyed it, can't wait to watch again this evening (yes, yes, I could watch now, but I like set times, etc )

Oddly enough we also watched operation fortune recently...
A Jason Statham vehicle, or so I thought (guy Richie)

However once we got over hugh Grant's bricktop (snatch) accent.

I think he rather stole the show

A flurried mix of oceans 11/mission impossible/any Richie movie, so the expected was expected & delivered.

It's no where near as good as his others. Inglorious B's , snatch or Lock Stock...
But it whiled away an hour's or so pleasantly.

It's as good a way of relaxing as any. Enjoy.

I'm the kind of person who reads the end of a book before I get into it. I need to know it's going somewhere I want to end up. The only mindless TV I watch is "Death in Paradise" and "Beyond..." Easy going and you know it's going to be a good end. Can't trust other dramas to do that. Not even sure about the "Beyond Paradise" - not all that satisfactory as a programme. A step too far, I think.

Thanks for the spolier alert. Noise cancelling headphones, the attached (ever growing) playlist and sky/bt apps (sport, obs) on this device are a great blessing. Does mean I can be in the same room as a couple of people whose viewing habits are like fingernails down a blackboard - especially one. Not sure why Attenborough grinds my gears intensely yet Countryfile is loveable. I have convinced myself that is lead us not into temptation and no amount of prayer has so far shifted the dial. The Bose ones block out everything at a low volume. Mid range ones need a tad more welly. Fitbit's reminder to move setting is also a blessing.

Absolutely hear that.

Action movies, gun fire, etc don't bother me, but the minute people start arguing on the TV...my hackles go up, so much so I usually have to leave the room.

(Usually to avoid being ordered out...)

I have an awful dog like habit. You know when they bark because other dogs bark..

And that arguing & shouting has me shouting back at TV if I sit there too long listening....:banghead:

So I completely get it .
No rhyme or reason.

Attenborough's a marvelous presenter, but for you ..it is what it is

Who am I to argue .

To my mind this riffs on that idea and extends the wokerati debate. Several people have commented that as a nation, indeed western societies in general, have become more shouty and intolerant with the rise of social media. Silo mentality. Mea culpa I guess.

I know

That's why I baggsied a spot for you too
Brilliant - especially as I am back again with a 5.2 before lunch. I nearly dropped the meter in shock.

Pancreas and liver look like they have woken up - or perhaps they have been on strike and have just gone back to work. Or, just maybe, they wanted to make sure that I had learnt my lesson and won't 'go rogue' again.

The only thing that does worry me though is that they may just collapse with exhaustion tomorrow and not be able to control my blood sugars tomorrow.

Matthew 6:34 (NIV) - don't even think about me ever applying that to myself

The whole idea many sit in groups who are only in those groups because they agree with the groups premise & ideals, where others are deliberately or subtly excluded.

Might just mix well when confronted by ideas that don't confirm to theirs, was a hard act to pull off , no wonder the volume is raised when so few manage it.

I think an Obama speech said it best, that even though we vigorously disagree, we should be prepared to listen to other arguments

For that's how change happens

Apartheid
Civil rights
Self governance
Freedom
Independence

The silo mentality surely is a step backwards, imho .

Must be incredibly hard in some cabinets if they are anything like the senior leadership meetings of many schools or large organisations. Some truly bizarre people promoted to important positions who always seem to have been incredibly over promoted/have amazing self promotional skills without any obvious talent for the job. Real skill to keep a straight face when they talk. There were some bright enough people in Bojo and Trump's cabinets whose real views and morals were sensible.

A bit late this morning, because Midnight came to my bed in the night upset. He'd had a kerfuffle with something. So, when I was sure the garden was clear of wildlife at dawn this morning, I went out and got the SD cards, I downloaded them but they didn't show me anything that Midnight might been involved in. He had a bit of missing fur but nothing serious. So he's been in clinging to mum mode so far today, and so I am behind in everything.

This is the video I made this morning from last night's SD cards.

Fox & Badger & Cats
This greedy fox ate all the biscuits I had put out for the stray cats...

Forgot to link the video...here it is...now I do need that nap...

I have been using my hand massaging machine to try and leave my arthritis in my hands.

I found you could use a glove, not a surgical glove, but one of those looser plastic gloves, put handcream on your hands, put the glove on, put hand in the hand massager, and it massages the cream in beautifully. It is quite nice actually...

So, I was able to paint the Creative today which is Lighthouse #27 painted in Procreate.

Now I am ready for a nap...

Have your best day...

I was referring to Obama's farewell address
None of this is easy. For too many of us, it’s become safer to retreat into our own bubbles, whether in our neighborhoods or college campuses or places of worship or our social media feeds, surrounded by people who look like us and share the same political outlook and never challenge our assumptions.
President's farewell speech

Some more hugs @jjraak

I can do a good number in that bristly bit...it does have a connection to current and past problems. Some poor unfortunate can be at the receiving end of it from me. But on here, I don't give that first bristly response any more (fingers crossed, although I did on another site a week ago, and upset someone, like heck was I going to apologise).

But I 'walk' away from my initial bristly response feeling on here, come back a few hours later, and the bristly response has usually more or less dissipated. And I wonder what the heck I was thinking of, because I wouldn't have been fair to that person, even though my initial bristly response would have been justified in my eyes...

There are some poor unfortunates who do get it from me...

And I do have to remember that Google records and keeps every comment I make, and I would much rather it didn't come back at some later time and bite me In the posterior...
