What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those that try to identify as an honest not self serving politician. Early footnote allegedly rarer than unicorn droppings.

Blood sugars this morning, a tale to tell.
Firstly 7.1, secondly 30 seconds later on the same finger 6.2 these levels are fine, but I was trying to understand why the 7.1, thankfully Mrs J reminded me, me’s and myself that dinner last night was a fresh cooked pasta one pot dish by Jamie Oliver. This explains the elevated levels.
The 0.9 difference shows the blood sugar readings can only be used as a snapshot, in my non medical opinion.

Now let’s move on to @dunelm’s tower, unsupported or otherwise it reminds me of the Tower of Art at the Unseen University 800ft tall and 8 888 steps. In my ignorance I shall assume that dunelm is a Terry Pratchett reader.

I shall abstain from commenting on politics, immigration and religion, but we are a mongrel nation and as per canines mongrels are more robust than pedigrees.
As that comedian Dave Allen used to say “ May your God go with you “ I tend to use that expression in Reading, to coin another expression when the “ God bothers “, bother me on my way out of town.
Now it is time for my afternoon nap.

Stay safe all, we heard this morning that friends who had their top up jabs 3 weeks ago have tested positive for covid, stay safe if can.
Gravity is a habit that is hard to shake off (Small Gods, TP).

Sorry if that brought back unhappy memories. Btw, my Swipey is reading 4.9 after a coffee with cream and a Fattbar cookie which is much more normal. I may need to eat earlier but I don't like most LC food especially early on so just avoid it for as long as possible. How are you getting on with Cronometer?
That's okay. Memory lane is interesting.

I tend to have the bulk of any carbs I have for breakfast, but remember, my breakfast is often very early, maybe 4:30 to 6am. Then the second meal can be anytime from 11am to 2 pm. But I can eat in a smaller window than that. If I have carbs later then my readings are in double figures.

Cronometer is helpful to keep me on track...

A busy night ...

Creative is my scented flowering Lilac.
Yesterday I hung my washing, on hangers, on the scented Lilac Bush.
When I brought it in, the bungalow now smells of lilac overnight...

Have your best day.

Time for a cuppa and a nap.

Love the lilac. Lilac is just about my favourite plant. When we first moved to Canterbury from London, I was 4. I remember the day we arrived by bus and saw the city for the first time. It had been heavily bombed and the area we were standing in looked out over an area of cellars open to the sky and lilacs! There was a sea of lilac where the plants were growing in the ruins and to my, childish, eyes the place was a beautiful wonderland. Of course, the whole area was redeveloped and then developed again and the lilacs have all gone but I have always cherished that moment.

Morning all on a chilly start here in L.A. Swipey offered up 4.6 rising to 5.2 which seems about the going rate. Pea shoot and garlic, with venison strips, stir fry and a little Thai green curry sauce may be a keeper. Today is a 4th birthday event here for the Little Guy's © big - her words, she is incredibly delicate, very loving sister. @gennepher thank you for the creative and the idea of a bungalow smelling of lavender. I used to like the smell from a neighbour's lavender when I cut his kerbside lawn. @Annb lovely memories so do continue to cherish that moment. Tea to drink, preparations to make here but the organising committee are abed so me and the dogs have some time together. Have your own kind of good day.

Lovely Lilacs

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny start here in the dark and dangerous north. Bloods being a sensible 5.2 this am so calm down, it’s only a snapshot on the kodak disposable 110. Unsupervised for the day today. Which is good given the result of yesterdays Army V Navy at Twickers. RAF don’t bother - distinct lack of tablecloths, foi gras and Champaign I guess. Mrs Miggins has already gone out and left me in charge of the washing machine. Hope I remember what I am supposed to do. The words “spin” and “pegs” were mentioned - sounds exhausting. Art bit - details added to lower bit to please the gravity police. Hope your Sunday is tip top. Put on your best hat and promenade. I shall first drink some koffy.

Much more stability on display. Not that there's any harm in defying gravity, if you can do it. Same as age really. Something I would like to be able to do - defy both gravity and age.

A quick Morening Ladies and Gentlemen I am under full supervision and time pressures today.
Blood sugars this morning were 5.3.
Excuse the slurping sound but koffy is a must, ah safety koffy.
Now me, me’s and myself plus the other not named 3 of me must get our combine act together or Mrs J will explode into something terrible.

Stay safe, stay away from Mrs J, I’m bound to transgress is some way, shape or form.

Oh hand and foot note Mrs J wants to trim my beard……..with a scythe

Talk about defying age and gravity! I walked up the lane that runs past and across country at the back of the house, it's very rough and one requires a stick to keep upright.
I found it difficult but even the short distance I did was an achievement. In the warm sunshine yesterday loads of birds were singing. I found it hard but it will be very good for me in improving balance and gaining strength again.

There is an old railway track that is overgrown and the local farmer has created a few small ponds and a wildlife area but this area is out of reach because it's far too rough and requires climbing gates and field boundary fences for c.a kilometer. All the time I have a 'hawk' watching me telling me not to do too much. :) So I can resist temptation.;)

Thank you very much @Annb
I remember bombed out sites, but they had rose-bay-willow herb, and Buddliea.
They did look magic sights to a child.

Thanks @ianpspurs
Glad you had a good memory from that.

@dunelm thank you for sharing the now strong and stable art. Do take the very best care of that washing and the machine. Can the machine not be controlled remotely? How very quaint. Good news for you that the Brylcream boys lost. Now if pre-accident Bader were still around .... @lindisfel good news on the walk - you sound eerily like my dad. Unlike him, do take your phone with you.

Bearing up well @dunelm
Hopefully will still be standing tomorrow for your excellent colour skills.

I trust all the washing is pegged out now, enjoying that sunshine.
And you are reclining in your garden chair with another well earned coffee....

My head would be defying age and gravity @lindisfel , and leapfrogging over the stiles, gates, and boundary hurdles to reach those ponds and wildlife area...but my body would be left far behind, leaning against the first hurdle...sigh...

7.8 this morning. Hopefully will see some 6s next week.

Having a relaxing day today. Early morning dog walk then a stroll around the shops in our local market town. Surprisingly we have done 7K steps already. Longer dog walk this afternoon, a bit of lesson planning and admin and then relaxing and reading and lots of coffee.

I'd contact the temp agency and ask for that super diary secretary asap
I really do think that I must do that asap. About 22 years ago, on a training session, we were asked how many classes and 1:1s we ran each week.

I did wonder if I should lie about how many I did, but I am hopeless at lying so told the truth. The teacher was horrified and she said that she guaranteed that I would be burnt out within 4 years if I didn't cut down. Not happened yet, but I must be careful and not take on.more work than is sensible.
