Should be going to the market today. Or at least had a vague plan to do so. Cant remember exactly why though. Purchase of a golden courgette plant? We like to use the recently opened bakery in the small town but today am finding it hard to get going. Think I will take suggestion from @Krystyna23040 play some mahjong instead. There is another market in a different town tomorrow

Morning all from a not what was supposed to be in the tin start here in L.A. I'll skip the fbg update as Swipey now throws out some possible numbers along with the frankly risible. Today is the tenth anniversary of my parents' funeral so I'm off to visit and tidy their grave as well as checking on those of several relatives. @dunelm good news on the cafetiere and deciphering the signs. Where we are headed folk can slip in and out of English and Welsh in the same sentence - disconcerting. Thanks for sharing the latest art. @alf_Josiah don't be hard on Mrs A J - or the plumber. @Krystyna23040 the dog walk sounds wonderful and enjoy Mahjong first (interesting autocorrect). Have a song which I chose to be played as the coffins entered the church - seemed to fit what happened perfectly. Have a great day
What a great song choice.

Like muchly .

BG at 3.30 am was 11.5. By 6.30 it was 8.9. Just had breakfast with insulin, so it should go down a bit.

A baking day today - another small function in Stornoway tomorrow - and I am making some low carb scones to take with me and experimenting with some cookies using a banana as a sweetener. If they work, I'll take them. If they don't I'll chuck them out to see if our resident starlings will eat them.

I am fascinated by the pair of starlings nesting above my kitchen window. They are so acrobatic. To get into the hole they are using as an entrance to our roof overhang, they have to cling to the roughcast beside the window and then launch themselves to the side and up at an angle to the hole. But to get into the hole they have to fold their wings, without hanging on. They are amazing. And they do it seemingly hundreds of times a day, bringing food for their brood. This year, though, we must get some nesting boxes for them among the trees and close up the holes because they do make an awful mess of the path and the windows. We have about 6 or 7 pairs nesting in the various ventilation gaps that lost their covers over the winter. I don't begrudge them their cozy spaces, but it's difficult to keep the place clean. We always leave the montbretia plants to die back because the dead leaves make such good nesting material but it is getting a bit out of hand. I'm not sure if starlings are protected or if I am allowed to evict them from my roof if I do provide nesting spaces for them.
Nature.

Just incredibly inventive at times
& Seems to love to tease us with "how the hell, does THAT work ":wideyed:

Bumble bees, anyone ? ..mmhh.

Such a nice gesture putting up with the mess to benefit the birds.

Ah - bumble bees. We have a dwarf willow a few feet from the kitchen window and there's another fascinating scenario. The bumble bees love it when the catkiins come out. On a warm and still enough day we usually have about 20 or more buzzing around the bush. We very rarely see any other bees but these cute furry creatures seem to congregate there. A bit too breezy for them today though.

Lots to do.
Just having my afternoon nap!

Yesterday I realised I had more bird's nests in my back garden than I had thought.

In my front garden nesting is at least one pair of blackbirds, and one pair of chaffinches.

In my back garden is the sparrows who produced that incredibly noisy Miss Fluffy and her little brother. Dad looks after Miss Fluffy, and Mum looks after Little Brother. And I thought that was it for this year. But last night I realised there was another pair of blackbirds, and the male was coming low out of the clematis and honeysuckle (where years ago I had made it cat proof with wire chain link for birds to nest, against my cat Lynx at the time). And this blackbird is getting food from the frog pond below their nest. And this morning there are another 3 fluffy baby sparrows are on a willow branch, just like a Chinese painting, with their parents....

This garden is 'Gennepher's Baby Bird Daycare'...

The nighttime Wildlife Cameras.
Cat Merlin's long night.
Also Fox & Badger
This is from a while ago when the swing looked more comfortable and I didn't need to tie everything to the swing to stop the badger pulling them off.

I am a bit busy at the moment this week, so my sd cards from the nighttime cameras are building up. I don't have time to download and edit today.

Creative is a Dandelion flower, painted in Procreate.
When I do my digital painting of the flowers in my garden, I have Google ID the flower from my painting. Sometimes it ID's the flowers, other times not. Google tells me this is a Pot Marigold. No it's not!

A cup of tea now, and do something useful.

All the cat biscuits in the kitchen were gone last night. And also the dish they were in was gone. Midnight was guarding the cat biscuits on the swing last night, and those cat biscuits and dishes were all present and correct apart from a a few mouthfuls....

The baby birds are quiet, they are having their afternoon nap....I might join them with another short nap.....

Whatever the actual plant thank you for sharing. I'm going with evocative as the vibe it gives off for me. I'd have a cuppa and a nap. Strategising is best done that way.

I always find playing mahjong really relaxing.

Autocorrect is being really annoying at the moment. It seems to be changing things as I press post. I did in the end do some admin but probably played more Mah Jong than I should have.
It does that to me @Krystyna23040 change things as I post.
I proofread my email, pressed send, then check the sent email, and it was nothing like what I had said...

I play 3D Mah Jong on my iPad...

Smashing, vibrant dandelion.

Good morning everyone from another wonderfully sunny start here on The Gower. Yesterday was a day of coast, castles and climbing hills for ‘views’. Smashing day but with nearly 8 miles under the belt we were quite tired in the evening. Could have been the wine stops but I am going with the distance traveled and a lot of it up hill. Anyhow. Art bit - some more of the great indoors. Also a couple of snaps from yesterday. Have a wonderful day if you can, we are off to Swansea on charabanc but first, koffy.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those lucky enough to have good weather, wether it’s spelt wether or weather, Engrish is such a strange written language.

Bloods this morning were 5.2 .

@dunelm I know the Mumbles well, but due or dew to covid have not been there since 2019, shame really. Enjoy your visit, a long way from the dark and dangerous norf.

Mr Plumber has to revisit due to faulty components and also incorrectly ordered toilet pan. Hey ho such is life the universe and everything. Mrs J’s car has gone for repair and an insurance arranged hire car has been delivered. So yesterday was busy and today is plinky plonky lesson, best take ear plugs, just for my excuses for not practicing hehehe.

Stay safe all and safety koffy is calling.
