What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Looks like the wait for a physio is six months locally on NHS. I think I shall have go privately to get some improvement.

If I stand or walk for more than 15mins my back hurts since a fall before the pandemic. Not bad sitting or lying down. LHS, I think its the S.I. joint.
D.
A six month wait for a physio is appalling when you are in pain.

6.9!!!!!
I'm not surprised!
The heating had to go on!
Similar situation to @lindisfel, our front room faces east, so no sun because of housing facing us, then it doesn't shine into front room, because it's moved South by then! So, by the temperature had dropped in the shadows to around freezing with the wind and rain. It is cold! Not so the back room or garden! Absolutely not when the Sun is out after about 11am.
After such a great reading yesterday, I did want to keep it around there but something intervened!
I have developed a cold! Flu? Man flu? Virus? Maybe covid????
Symptoms, temperature up, dry throat and cough, hesdache, snotty nose streaming (using kitchen roll). Which combined with the rest of the usual stuff (suspects) symptoms. It is not a good morning for me!
No smell, no hunger, no thirst, but I have forced a gallon of tea and water down me!
Had me walk and me bit of garden and house chores.
It is really windy out there again, no rain yet today. But after more thunderstorms last evening, I can see more coming later. Cloud formations are huge and beautiful, depth of colours, but the spaces between are an azure deep blue!
Did you know the ancient Greeks called the sky colour bronze?
My better half, has had a little bit of bother with her new pad. She couldn't unlock the thing, when she turned it off! I had to spend a good hour unlocking the security features and the settings, so she could use the thing without having to mess with it. But she will anyway!

Having one system, isn't a money spinning option in our lives.
That is why everything is split up and down into different aspects of how to make it more convoluted and if it is a different system, then someone will make money.
Sub contracting, outsourcing, dummy corporations, and so on!
Every thing you buy has different options, technology, as companies try to outdo the others, to try and get you to buy it!
As always in our country, it's about money and how the rich can get richer!

Going for a lie down! Not well! Maybe it's bird flu? Maybe it's the dreaded lurgy? Maybe, this is it? If I don't post tomorrow, I will be in an intensive care unit or in isolation, with drips every where!
You may laugh, but I'm not well, even dying!

How come? Another long post, I don't mean to do it, but I just can't stop!

Enjoy your Sunday, gonna cook now, chicken and tomatoes!
Hope you get over the virus really quickly @Lamont D

I see there is a new virus sweeping Europe which has the characteristics of bird flu.
I think I will press the opt out button! :)

Looks like a beautiful but cool day in Cumbria on the North side of the Jet Stream. Its hard to believe most of the world is wrestling with heat. We had to put the heating on yesterday am, like @Lamont D

I hope you all have a relatively pain free day that goes smoothly.

Good morning everyone on a beautiful serotonin reuptake inhibitor of a morning here in the dark and dangerous north. 4.9 when I checked at 0530. It’s gone up since then, thank you Amlodipine, we love you too. I am preparing to take advantage of this sunny day by dosing up on a cool mix of Tramadol and Paracetamol so that I can have a nice and hopefully pain free walk. I also have a trip to prepare for. Going down to the Bristol area but not all at once. Will stay over with youngest son and family on Wednesday night to break the journey - and also to get attacked by the Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse. Same plan for the return journey. Art bit, getting there. Hope you all have a smile for the day, I am still living it as Tuesday. Despite the advice from meddling non koffy drinkers, I am now going to pour some more koffy.

No plans to visit Europe just yet but I will be visiting my parents in September. I am sitting in the garden in the sunshine, making serotonin and slurping koffy.

Can you sing the Grantham Anthem? :)
Didn't see many of the Spitting Image programmes so I missed the Grantham Anthem and had to look it up. Good to start the day with a laugh. Thanks for that.

Edit: BG 8.9 at 2.45 am and rose to 9.2 by 7 am. Stuck there until 9 am when I had insulin and breakfast. It should go down a bit but won't test for another hour at least.

Few bad days emotionally, during which I seemed to be paralysed and very little got done. Hope I am getting over it now. Lots of catching up to do.
Meanwhile MrSlim is tearing out units and plasterboard in the kitchen after I heard dripping noises last night. By the look of it that pipe has been leaking for months. Why didnt I hear it before? Kiki came out from under the unit with wet feet. She is assisting with the work in her capacity as chief spider exterminator. She is still staying close and we now think she may have come across a Stone or Beech Marten. Certainly an animal large and fierce enough to scare her, probably about her size. There are droppings indicating it has been eating blackcurrants, in several places.
Although the leak itself may be relatively simple to fix, restoring the kitchen will take days.
The current heatwave in southern Europe is not affecting us. We have had days of cloud, rain and strong winds.
@Annb has Em recovered her spirits after hearing the nasty words?

Yes - she's back to her normal self again. It only upset her for a day or so and then she just shrugged and got on with her own life, in her own inimitable way.

A few weeks ago she had her hair cut in a modern style with one side of her hair cut to about 1/4 inch long and then a pattern shaved into it. The rest of her hair remained at the original length. Then her elder sister dyed her hair red for her. It has been like that for a few weeks with the colour gradually fading. Then, a few days ago, she went, with her sister to a hairdresser and had it recoloured - pink with purple ends. I don't approve, I have to say. She's too young to be experimenting with chemical effects on her hair but - it's her hair and she knows what she wants.

Her parents are doing much the same as I did with Neil when he refused to have his hair cut (a bit younger than Em is) - explain the problems but allow the decision in the hope that it will be grown out of rather than impose our own wishes. It worked for a long while with Neil but I notice that now, in his fifties, he is growing his hair again and wearing it in a kind of mini pony tail high on his head. No way I would even attempt to change his mind now.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, here in Tilehurst Towers things are undecided, but it is acknowledged that waking up is good start to whatever day you want it to be, I read that Tuesday has been claimed, therefore today can be whatever day you want.

Blood sugars were a late night cheese snack fuelled 6.9, me, me’s and myself are happy with that.

So far today I have drunk tea, now drinking strong koffy, sorted out my music paraphernalia as per Mrs J’s instructions, made beds done 45 minutes plinky plonky, perused the Tool station and Screwfix web sites for box spanner’s so I can do another of Mrs J’s tasks as well as looking at M8 x 120mm long coach bolts, for one of my commissions and finally eaten breakfast.

A myriad of pills are yet to be consumed and a discussion is required with Mrs J as per the rest of my day, all those years ago when I uttered those fateful words “ I do “ I never dreamt they meant I do whatever I’m told by Mrs J.

Stay safe and strive to bring a smile to someone’s face.

Morning again from where summer is delayed at the sorting hub according to the attached. Same Evri day lately, I preferred June's Prime weather :D Still better than 40+ or needing heating and Sou'westers. Today was the last day of school year in 1992 in Cambs. Like a good boy our youngest son arrived at 14.00 hrs so I could leave at lunch, drive down the A1 from Peterborough and see him arrive. The midwife seemed to think as we already had two I/we could be left alone - not sure my Uncle (top man there) would have been impressed if told but all was well. His brothers were a tad miffed that at two hours old he mustn't be fed the smarties they tried to force feed him. I spent the next few days deep cleaning the house - Milton everywhere, literally, even every light bulb. JKP had had some issues with the pregnancy. @dunelm hug for the need to take so many painkillers but enjoy your walk, time with the youngsters and travels. Thanks for sharing the art and nice start to your post. @gennepher thanks for the creative which seems redolent of Australia to me - deliberate, inspired by daughter? @Annb good on Em for bouncebackability. @SlimLizzy hug for the emotional problems and extra work from the leak. @lindisfel good memory of the GA. @alf_Josiah you have what some call a Honeydo relationship, not uncommon I'm told. Enjoy your day as much as possible everyone. We may have this treasure in earthen vessels and a few tents herein are showing signs of wear but it is still treasure.
Edited to make DOB for #3 correct
