What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.6 this morning. Was really tired and hungry yesterday and had 25g of carbs. I know that my pancreas cannot cope with more than 15g carbs a day at the moment - but that didn't stop me eating more food. Must do better today.
It is a pity being unable to eat those few more carbs, and it's hardly anything to the non diabetic person @Krystyna23040

When I am tired and fancy a few more carbs, it doesn't make me feel any better or less tired when I succumb. But what does help me a little on those occasions is a small 4 ounce coffee cup of milk, but I add some double cream. I can only do this occasionally and it does not raise my glucose levels by much.

Good morning all from what is a bright, pleasantly warm and dry L.A. which isn't the case for all of you I know. @karen8967 good to see you posting and with such a splendid fbg. @dunelm winner for your fbg and sharing such a wonderful piece of art but hug for the after effects of #dunelmball yesterday. A tad extreme just to avoid painting the hallway. @Krystyna23040 JKP showed me an amazing photo of the high tide today at Holkham. It seems to have been up to the little wooden bridge just after the car park. @gennepher wonderful story of the revived oak and amazing image of the acorn. Well done for escaping the Bell People. @Annb I'll PM you as my post on the misuse of the pursuit of wellness by conspiracy theorists clearly landed badly. Enjoy or endure your day with Grace, Fortitude, tea and maybe keto cinnamon doughnuts. What are your neighbours called ?
Thank you Ian

My neighbours? Mr/Mrs/Ms Everyone. Some a bit closer than others, but those ones are all my age and older and popping their clogs all too often.

Creative is a straight photo today.
My oak tree finally has acorns!
About 20 years ago when I dug up the front lawn (I do not mow grass, ever, to plant some low shrubs (all now high shrubs and trees), I discovered several sawn massive tree trunks below ground level. They were oak trees. Then I found more sawn down oak trees on my property, all hidden below ground level. That made me sad that it appeared that the builder of this estate in the 70's had possibly cut down all these venerable oak trees just to make money. Or they could have been cut down years before, for the shipbuilding industry.

I left most of them below ground level. But 3 sawn off massive oak tree trunks, I exposed to the daylight and air. I did not think it was possible after being sawn off below ground, that they could grow again. But I like to believe the impossible. Over time some small shoots grew from all the 3 tree trunks. And over the years I found the 3 oak trees had oak galls, which is home of the oak gall wasp. This year however, there is not one oak gall on my 3 oak trees. BUT I HAVE ACORNS!!!

Creative this morning is a photograph of an acorn, still green. And what is amazing to me, is that the little fairy acorn cup looks as if it has been crocheted in fine cream wool. I have never seen an acorn in this earlier stage of development (well you wouldn't, they would normally be high up in the oak tree, unseen). I didn't know nature could crochet!

Have the best day you can.

I need to get going...

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, it would have been good Morening but we were out for dinner yesterday evening and when we got home got involved in a video call with some greaser ( motorcyclist) friends hence over sleeping.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.0

Me, me’s and myself got taken to 3 yes 3 supermarkets this morning, wow this is called living dangerously I believe.

Hopefully attached should be Mrs J’s latest painting by numbers from her artwork folder.

Stay safe allIMG_0190.jpeg

I will try that @gennepher . It is annoying that my body is reacting so badly to just a small amount of carbs.

Had my hair cut this am and sat and had a chat with my barber. He and his father have cut my hair for over 50 years. He cuts it at his home in Wigton being 74 year old and very bad on his legs. His parents are long dead.
He is real fan of John Wayne and Elvis having travelled to Graceland once.
On the way there I saw a guy who we knew mutually in the past and he looked a real mess. Apparently he was an alcoholic and his wife had divorced him and he had married another alcoholic. He was walking or staggering down the middle of the road this am. What a state to get into poor guy. He had a good taxis business and a second home in Cyprus when I knew him.
He would swim every other day and about ten years younger than me and quite fit. I felt sorry for him, realising I am a wreck through no fault of my own.
Very stiff today after physio, couldn't walk far.

Yes, an amazing photo. I have never seen high tide coming in that close. Usually when we visit we have quite a long walk along the beach to the sea.
When there is an unusual high tide around here. The promenade areas can be very dangerous and under water.
The waves pounding against the wall of the promenade is quite spectacular pushing the fountain spray very high. Of course, it has been known for the local constabulary, to close the promenade and spoil the youngsters fun. Dancing the waves is a local phenomenon!
Getting wet is a rite of passage!

Our neighbourhood does qualify as a retirement venue! We were the youngest family when we moved in.
Only one of our immediate neighbours have defied us moving in!
It won't be long I fear!
Ha!

I'm beginning to think I am developing shingles. Either that or some other inflammation of nerve endings that I don't know about. I never had chickenpox and I thought that meant I couldn't develop shingles but apparently not because I had it a few months ago. I also had the shingles vaccine a few years ago. Now I think it is back. Paracetymol and codeine is the answer so I will up the timing of my painkillers. I'll be trying to get a phone appointment with the GP on Monday anyway to ask about my blood results.
