What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.4 today!
A nice sunny start if not a bit nippy, clouding over and as always on the peninsula windy!
Went to the big city this morning to do some banking. It's been a while since last visit, if it wasn't for the tourists, it would indeed be struggling! Had a walk around and couldn't believe what some of the big high street stores are charging for some items. You need a mortgage for a pair of trainers!
Anyway, after getting to the bank, which is shutting at Christmas and the nearest one is at least a very long journey on a bus. I asked how to continue banking if certain circumstances happens. The bank teller showed me how on my iPhone. I mean, why don't they tell you these things?
A wasted journey, except for a trek t-shirt from a shop called Forbidden Planet, which I browsed for at least half an hour!!!!!
Got back home just in time, to welcome the housing, council, to measure for safety rails on stairs, bathroom, front door, back door. Which will be done in the next two weeks. Quicker than I was expecting.
Chores to do and hopefully have a relax in the garden.
Lionesses were indeed fortunate to get through! Nigeria were the better team, but couldn't find the net!
Penalties are a lottery!
Will need to improve somewhat, it they are going to win it!

Have a magic monday, word of the day is ubiquitous!
Good news on the speedier safety rails.

Perhaps then, we should try for a benign dictatorship. Unfortunately, I don't think dictators have a good record at maintaining their benign attitude.
Don’t know about that but I know of no other occupation that can act with near impunity and even be rewarded with a mahoosive pension for mucking things up. The amount of money they waste is eye watering. I fancy proportional representation and take the sacking of MPs out of the hands of a tiny few party members.

I got back 3 hours ago. Made a cuppa. Turned on this site to do my creative etc and promptly fell asleep. So, you probably saw the little green dot saying I was active on this site. Alas, I was sleeping, holding this iPad, (still holding it after 3 hours and not dropped it!!! But my arthritic fingers hurt!!!) and my cup of tea is now stone cold. I am always dog tired after appointments and stuff, trying to lipread and figure out what people are saying.

Wildlife nighttime video.
A new ginger cat challenges Jade for her cat biscuits. Jade just sits on the biscuits. Ginger cat loses. Midnight watches...

Creative is acrylic inks and a hake brush with water.
The first one is the original painting.
The second one has been digitally played with a little.
I prefer the second one.

Time for a quick nap, and then do something with the day...

Hope your day is good...

Hug for the tiredness after the appointment. Thanks for sharing the creatives which both look splendid if a little sombre to me. I'm assuming, possibly over assuming, they are reflective of your mood.

Smashing creatives, especially when you are tired. The second one does have more vibrancy but I do like both - and the addition of the birds.

Hi Ian. I don't think you are over assuming...
I am still tired. I feel quiet. It's just reflective of the effort I have to put into the morning. In a sense this feels like a wasted rest of the day. I intended achieving a few things this afternoon. I don't have the energy to do that.

I just need an injection of 'get up and go'....

I remember entering a roundabout in Wigan one morning looking to the right to see a lorry on it's side careering towards us at a fast pace luckily it just missed us and nobody was hurt pretty scared but unharmed.

Adrian went back to Oxford this morning unfortunately I had woken up at about 5 o'clock with abdominal pain and the runs so was unable to wish him farewell properly typical.

Feeling somewhat better now but been a rotten day.

Fbg was 6.7 this morning didn't feel like testing but thought I'd better.

Oh what’s a rotten start to your day. Something that you ate? A bug? Good that you are beginning to recover.

Far too windy in the garden, but lovely sunshine.
I did mention Forbidden Planet before. This was one of the first films I ever watched. It was right up my alley! Just a fabulous production.
And even being seventy years old it has that magic of wonder, awe and science fiction basics of the future and what is out there!
And if you want to watch it! It will cost you!

The artwork on this thread is unbelievable, I am so jealous about your creativity. I am also angry that I can't replicate my younger days and my drawing. Because of my arthritis!

I might try my hand at painting by number, if I ever get round to it!

Not sure of the cause we all ate the same meal all I can think of is I did have a glass of wine last night and maybe some of my meds may have reacted badly to it.

Shall not do that again just in case.

I have been witness to a few accidents on my travels, but the worst was at a sharp turnoff, and it seemed as though the driver was unaware of how tight it was and approached it too quickly, not realising that it had a crossing there. When I got there, there was a woman trapped under the front bumper, my coat came off and supported her head, I gave a quick once over but she wasn't lucid, there was no blood, she was breathing but I didn't want to move her. I secured her bag.The ambulance came very quickly and I stood out of the way. After a long while, the paramedics were able to get her out as a pick up truck winched the van up.
My coat was rotten along with my pants legs. I never did find out, through no want of trying, what happened to her!
The worst I have seen was a juggernaut on fire on the M6!

BG at 2 am was 10.8. 7 am 11.4. I'd gone to bed early and was awake by 12.30 but forced myself to stay in bed until 2.00. Then some pills and dozing in the chair until a short time ago.

I'd put the dishwasher on with last night's load when I came through at 2 but while I was dozing it started making a funnhy noise, so I checked it and it seems to have a problem with the water supply, or perhaps the drainage. Whichever, it isn't working. That means standing at the sink and finishing off the job. Don't know if my feet and ankles are up to that. I'll leave it a while until Neil appears and see if he can fix it.

A glorious bright morning in Cumbria after a very cold night we look like having three dry days and one quite warm until the Jet plays up again, diving down the long wind for the British Isles.

Hope your day is peaceful and you have your best day.
For some of our Cumbrian friends this is a very difficult day, may they find they are given strength to face it and have hope.

Got to love Forbidden Planet. Artwork. I find using brushes OK but working with ink pens and some of my Chinese refillable ink pen brushes is a bit of a chew on as, like you, my arthritic hands sieze up holding narrow implements. That’s why my doodle sketches take so long to do. Perhaps look for a fat pencil and have a few minutes with it each day. For me, it keeps me calm. Take care.

Oh that’s not good. I would be doing a scientific experiment - no food at dinner, just the wine. :hungry::cool:

Good idea to leave it for Neil. Hope it’s something simple like filters or just the need for one of those cleaning tablets.

Is it Carlisle football club or something serious?

Morning all regulars and an especially warm welcome to overseas visitors. @Annb hug for the dishwasher issue and @lindisfel whatever the issue with your Cumbrian friends typical of you to show such human concern. Possibly an apt day to commemorate the Transfiguration of Christ. Have a good day everyone - I may be back to take the edge off your joy later.
Edited to add the extra o but both versions are applicable
