What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.9 at 6:15, Not so bad today but it had risen by the time I came to have breakfast. Didn't used to do that so something has changed. Maybe its the result of Covid, who knows! I'll just have to keep plugging away.
Diabetic screening went ok - I think. They will be sending out the letter soon, however I'm off on holiday in the next couple of days so I expect I will have to wait until I return home to see it. Praying things are ok. Procedures at the screening seem to have changed. They used to tell me straight away if my eyes were ok, this time they didn't. We had a chat about that and the nurse said they are no longer allowed to tell people their results straight away, its got to come by letter. We both agreed that seemed a bit daft. The foot nurse that I was dreading seeing because she upset me by her attitude last year was less negative than she usually is. She did not preach carbs as she usually does and was pleased with my results, told me to keep on doing what I am doing. so overall, it was a much better experience I had than in previous years. Keep well. :)

Testing when we wake up first thing gives us a baseline BG reading. Taking a shower or almost any activity before breakfast will cause your BG to rise. Not sure why yours used not to.

So good to hear your diabetic screening was a better experience than previous years. Thanks for keeping us posted.

This is just meant to be for type 2 ? Been posting my bloods on here a while and a type 1 ! 5. 1 this morning eaten porridge/ toast and when I get it right raised no more than 2 mmol for an hr
As far as I know any type can and do post on here .. we are all in the same or similar boats :)

Morning all on a pleasant valley Sunday here and hopefully where you are. Swipey wanted me to believe my fbg was 5.1 today which it may well have been - or not. @dotty-p mopping up olive oil is an ancient ritual. Can't find an exact biblical reference but certain to have been beloved by the Patriarchs - so all good. I'd avoid anointing your beard though :D
