Just caught up with the thread took me over a week (half an hour to be exact ish)
Today is 6.4, yesterday was 7.0 mmols. The reason for the 7 I think was it was a pre everything test including counselling, grandkids, shopping, and footie last night. It was a busy day, hence the no show!
The grandkids were here again today and excuse my scouse, I'm .........!
Have a lot on again so I will keep it short!
Counselling was very tough with this realisation that I'm not doing as good as I think I am and I repeat doing too much. Not caring for myself, because I'm caring for everyone else. With my situation at present, despite the loud hailer, for help, and it's just not here yet! You just cannot not help someone who you really care about, despite what it does to you. I'm not religious but isn't that what the scriptures say?
I'm with Derek or @lindisfel as is his pseudonym is. You know what I mean! It is what it is!
With my understanding of how carbs interact with our hormones and how it causes overtime with the pancreas, liver and all the hormonal responding bits of us that have an effect.
We have, all on here have an abnormal response to what goes in our gobs! But it all depends on your own individual intolerance to that food. What I and Derek have that is different, is when we have what is loosely called a sugar crash our liver cannot respond enough to stop the crash into hypoglycaemic levels. The overshoot created via our brains and gut trigger (bet you didn't know you had one?) Has an abundance of insulin which drives the sugar crash. And of course all the horrible symptoms develop because of the rapidity of the spike, the crash, the hypo, then, we have to be careful of the rebound effect if we treat the hypo with too many carbs!
The majority of items on sale in shops, have grains in them. When you read the label, the grains are in bold type!
That is not only because of gluten intolerance but other intolerance and known to cause inflammation, which is a precursor for so many health issues including diabetes.
Perhaps, it is because I know my reaction and how I stopped my hypo hell, it is not surprising that my experience tells me it is carbs not calories, keeping your BG levels in or around normal levels and am so intolerant to so many foods. Also that T2, does mirror the science of RH, I can relate to it. That I would recommend a low carb diet to that person every time!
My, Non diabetic late reactive Will be here if advice is needed.
Gotta go T20 is on box now!
My best wishes as always!
Some great artwork!
