What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

1.15 am - Libre woke me again - 3.9. Fruit pastille. Back to sleep (I'd only actually got to bed at 12.45).
4.30 am - 8.9. Painkillers, tea, big chair, fell asleep again.
7.00 am 7.5. Still dozey.
Intend to take it easy today to recover from the weekend and yesterday. However - there's a huge pile of dry washing to fold and put away so I will have to tackle that at some stage. Otherwise I'll run out of fresh clothes. When I say huge, I really mean it - there are 4 big baskets, each piled high towards the ceiling, leaning against each other for support. Today's the day, or so I'm telling myself, but we shall see.
Well that’s your day organised. I think I would be sat at a table to do that and probably whilst watching a film with a very thin and easy to follow plot.

Good morning everyone on a very overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north with promises of, but yet to witness, rain. Car fixed yesterday. A solenoid, whose only function is to annoyingly grab hold of your key like a bully in a school yard until the vehicle is placed in P for park went mad and needed replacing. Over engineered safety - I would be happy for it not to be there but I expect it’s counted as a modification to remove it completely come an insurance claim. Retractable roof also needed some tensioning. All done and paid for under warranty. This morning is sorting out flights to Bordeaux to visit my parents - what fun! Art bit - just added a bit of colour. Hope your day is cool but not cold. Best go and make some koffy.

Fbg 6.8

Heavy downpours of rain here. Looks like this will be all day.
At least the car is getting washed of all that Sahara dust/sand.
And a little Dunnock is feeding off the fatball bits the messy sparrows knock on to the ground.

Bungalow is still holding all the heat of the last few days. My bedroom is still 23C despite outdoors being 15C...

Wildlife camera.

Creative. I have loads of these yellow wildflowers in my garden at the moment, different varieties, I think this one is called Hawkweed.

Have a good day.

Time for a coffee...

Love the gentle colour @dunelm

Enjoy that coffee...

Morning all from a cooler but humid L.A. Fbg probably 5.3 ish (Libre) - not great but I've obviously got other issues so I'll park it for now. The point of testing for me is to find out what LC/Keto food I actually derive sufficient pleasure from to make it worthwhile but doesn't make bg misbehave massively. Today's first experiment is hummus and toast. @dunelm and @gennepher thank you both for sharing your art, we are truly blessed. @Krystyna23040 enjoy the coffee and recliner for as long as possible. A big crowd of plane watchers with top end photographic equipment outside RAF Lakenheath (really in Brandon) yesterday which was the anniversary of 9/11 - prayers for those still feeling the hurt. @Annb slow and steady with the clothes folding. That much washing must have taken time to accumulate so there should be plenty of days to fold it. Enjoy as much of the day as possible.

I made a couple of kaleidoscopes for you this morning. I think this is the best one of the two. I hope you like it.

@gennepher that is so kind and absolutely stunning. In my strange mind that conjours images of Orthodox priests robes - which I like.. Bless you

5.5 this morning.

Quite cool here today seems we have a yellow warning for rain here from now till mid day tomorrow.
Quite a nice day in Cumbria quite bright and cool but dry, temperature outside ATM 15deg C. We missed the heavy rain some twentyfour mile's away at Penrith the other day.
Very cold this am early and the duchess went off to taichi chi in Carlisle and I was told to behave when she was away. :)
Can't do much else than behave!

They say the eyes don't age and yours still clearly have that mischievous twinkle which The Duchess fell for so she is spot on. :D

Regarding locusts as mentioned, they must be kosher because the Jewish wilderness prophet with the long hair, John the Baptist, used to eat them for his diet of wild honey and insect locusts.

No, he didn't slope off to the local take away!
D.
Didn't end well for him.

Lost his head over the locusts with honey?
Well obviously there was the minor issue of a dancer, a promise and alcohol involved but we are in the post truth era so no need to be bothered about that. For those who use Libre anyone else sign up to them using your data for research? Seems it gives virtually continuous readings - fascinating what happens. Is confirming some things I suspected - in a good way. Also some potentially good/useful recipes here - came with a free sample included with my Fattbar order. Currently testing double chocolate brownie (Fattbar) with coffee, cream (8 mls), ceylon cinnamon and sf caramel syrup - very flat line even with walking. Usually ends up dropping from the start.

Ah well. How many men have been brought low by women, lust and alcohol? Who suffered most in the end, I wonder. John? Hardly. Herod? Herodias? Her daughter? Women in general? Herod was a powerful fool. His wife and her daughter were clever plotters who gave women a bad name which has lasted for all these centuries.
