What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those who were awol namely me, me’s and myself. Sorry but to many posts to catch up on so hugs, condolences, congratulation and best wishes where required.

Blood sugars were 7.0, 6.6 and this morning 6.2 .
Been busy working on the never ending woodworking project, but the end is in sight and possibly delivery at the weekend.

Hopefully attached is Mrs J’s latest paint by numbers artwork a trifle, ahm other puddings available, as I was trying to say psychedelic in my opinion. Mrs J did not enjoy painting this one. Hey ho never mind.

Plinky plonky day here and tomorrow the excitement of national bin day.

Bright and colourful artwork. That'll cheer the place up on these miserable autumn days. Slightly disconcerting eye watching from the middle though. Glad the woodworking project is coming to an end. Successful I hope?

This is not a stress reaction, it's down to last night's cake. Which was a stress reaction.

MrSlim had a go at the tomato paella. I gave him pudding rice to use so probably my fault that the dish took much longer to cook and the result was not quite as expected. The mayonnaise stirred in added much needed richness. Tasty, yes. and enough for six to eight portions! Will be freezing some and tarting it up from its vegan roots with some added proteins. I was busy catastrophising, so totally unable to cook. Besides which he needed to be distracted from the driving worries.
Catastrophising in the form of cupboard sorting and cleaning. Just in case we are forced into selling the house. So far out in the country it would be impossible to live here if neither if us is legal to drive. Needed doing anyway.
Zoom meeting tomorrow afternoon so we will know more then.
Kiki has a wonderful time in the kitchen yesterday evening, she found the washing up. Chicken curry pan, yoghurt raita. Obviously didn't think much of the left over veg so carrots and beans scattered about, also paddled on the cloth over the cooling mousakka mix leaving paw shaped greasemarks.
Added to MrSlims jobs list.
Urgent!
Auto closer on kitchen door.
Hugs for all the stress @SlimLizzy
Hoping that your zoom call is productive for you.

Another foul rain soak day ruining our reputation as a good place for holiday makers. Unfortunately we have to go out and get shopping and prepare for the duchess to go in to hospital for 8 am Friday.

I have to take her in and leave here at 0700 to get into Carlisle hospital for 8am. Then I have to go into the local station Friday am and pick up Helen to look after her Mum for a couple of days.

However she's insured to drive my car so she can pick her Mum up from Carlisle hospital Friday afternoon.(Consultants working Friday junior doctors on strike ).
What a mess this country is in.

The new tablets for angina put my blood pressure through the floor yesterday and I felt grim so I have stopped taking them so I can drive ok.
Hope you all have the best of days.
What fun it is getting old, but there's not an acceptable alternative! :)
D.
Some extra hugs for you and the Duchess @lindisfel

Blowing a gale here.
Friend cancelled our meeting in England today. Her hubby not well.

So what do I do now?
If I get a cancelled day, I do not catch up on mundane stuff that day.
So, what exciting stuff can I do?

Midnight is pleased I am not rushing out.
But he is not pleased that Jade has taken his precious prized spot on the swing. He usually sleeps on it in the daytime.
Midnight spent most of the night asleep on me last night, and Jade now has his spot on the swing this morning.

I had already breakfasted early.
So having a second cuppa tea now.

Nighttime wildlife cameras
Fox and Pa Badger & son watched by Cat Midnight
Fox looks at me through my bedroom glass door at the end of the video, and although you can't see me, I look at him...
60secs

Now his son is a teenager, Pa Badger often takes his son out with him. When he was a baby cub he was forever scolding and cuffing him...

Creative.
Well, I was painting in the garage yesterday with a few ideas, and then I thought, hang on that is an unintentional painting.
So I took a photo. Several actually. Managed to extract the object after many failed attempts from its background, and place it on a black background. Can you guess what it is?

It is my black Chinese ink that I poured into a china teacup so I could dip my old credit card in to create drawings of trees etc.

I think it is amazing, and I am highly delighted with it!!!

I took several photos from different angles, and I have ideas of making a digital painting out of it...

Have your best day....

What adventures await me today?

Serendipity is the word. Brilliant. Looks like a little coppice in a cup.

Enjoy your free day - whatever you decide to do with it.

Smashing. Very Japanese asthetics - sort of inverse ensō.

Good morning everyone from a very blustery start here in the dark and dangerous north. 6.5 his morning and a positive Covid test - boo hoo! So that is probably why I have been up most of the night. Art bit - something started yesterday. Hope your day is kind to you. I will try for another koffy.

Hug for contracting COVID. Hopefully it will be mild and short lived. Thank you for sharing the art.

6.8 today.

We are in the process of returning everything back to the kitchen and pantry that had been removed to the dining room in order for new flooring to be laid the oven is already back and reconnected to the gas supply the washing machine is now back in it's proper place the fridge, freezer and tumble dryer will be moved back later today hopefully.

I remember when stationed at RAF Cosford the medical officer was actually a civilian doctor he was Belgian and addicted to Gauloises cigarettes and was in the habit of taking a cigarette out of the pack breaking off the filter and sparking it up while examining you for what ailed you which he did one day when I reported sick with a bad chest infection you can imagine the effect that had I came out feeling ten times worse than when I went in, also he was convinced that the guy who was running the airmen's mess being of German extraction was a spy even though this was in the sixties this lead to some very entertaining confrontations between them.

Glad to know your kitchen is getting back into shape after all the disruption. Any more renovations planned?

I'm only checking BG a couple of times a week now. Very pleased today with fasting BG 5.7 as last night my main meal was grilled pork chop with broccoli spears, cauliflower and a few runner beans, but preceded by 3 raspberries, 1 alpine strawberry, 2 walnuts and six unripe hazelnuts, plus apres-diner of one glorious glass of red wine. Still very low carb but as an experiment, successful.

6.4 today on a very windy, deluge of constant stream of falling water into my garden mixing with foliage and litter from the main road and bin emptying this morning! Chores done, shopping ordered.

Have nothing new to part,
So I will depart,
Into my space,
I know my place.

My best wishes to you all as always!
Have a windorious, wonderful wodins day!

Hope this COVID is mild for you @dunelm and you test negative asap.
It apparently has infected a lot of people in Cumbria.
Best wishes
Derek
