OK you can have an exemption - maybe I'll add Cumberland sausages or fluffy (this is how to spell cardboard) Yorkshires instead just to make up the numbers What are flaked almonds doing in mincemeat anyway? sorry Delia. I can eat whole almonds but flaked ones are just wrong.
Thank you for the exemption @ianpspurs . Good that I don't have to glue myself to the road now.

Yesterday I got back on track and kept to my below 17g carbs limit. I will give it 2 or 3 days for fbs to settle down before testing again. Hopefully will be back to normal quite quickly.

Yesterday, on our way back home from Norwich classes, there was a truly spectacular thunderstorm. The rain was torrential. I was so pleased that Mr K was driving as visibility was absolutely appalling.

Good morning on a bit of a damp squib of a start here in the ark and dangerous north. Still, the birds seem happy - if birds have those sorts of feelings - who knows. Content maybe, not sure about happy. Marcus Aurelius said that birds caring for their young show a form of natural affection for their own kind, something that humans with all their intelligence sometimes forget. Not sure what The Laird of Glencairn, AKA Mrs Miggins is up to today but I expect that hopping about round Claymores will be on the cards for one of the evenings - probably tomorrow. Strange lot, those Pictish folk, after all our years together I still find them very mysterious, unless of course they are portrayed in daft films staring Australians or some big bloke from Northern Ireland. It probably stems from their towns needing two different footy teams. Art bit, wet and then dry brushwork on some cheap drawing paper. Hope that your day goes swimmingly - in part at least. I shall drink koffy, do my exercises and then practice a bit of calligraphy.

14.9 this morning at 2.45. Dropped slowly to 12.1 before breakfast.

Very sore today after "Move More" class yesterday. Legs not working very well. However, I must say that despite the fatigue, once I have got over that, my legs muscles are actually stronger. Now hoping that the same thing will happen to my arms and shoulders.

Morning all from a dull L.A after the rain and wind last night. @dunelm and @gennepher thanks for sharing your artistic talents. @gennepher unusually, at the moment, I can't see any faces in that one. COVID booster day for three old codgers here. Busy day which started with a false start school run - long story - and will feature school pickups in Cambs and here - 2 cars and drivers job. Need to be there early in both counties or park a long way away then we will be feeding 4 grandchildren, one son and two partners. @lindisfel as for the stew, I'm not planning to hunt for the meat, there's an Ocado just for that. Anyhow, as an only child I had no issues with birthright so my arms are bare :D . Y'all have a good day now.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, just.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.6

Just got home from a visit to the GP doctors for a warfarin blood test, or so I though, silly me. They slipped a bunch of serious blood tests in, me, me’s and myself were half expecting this, but it is unlikely I will get the results. I will get the warfarin result, that is not under the GP doctor’s umbrella.
I also found out that they have changed my GP away from Dr Death as I named them. An extremely smart move on their part.

The rest of the day is almost mine. Mrs J will interfere I am sure.

It was just morning when I started this posting, but not anymore.

Time to go said whoever, stay safe all.

I have a live and let live attitude with cyclists, they are not too bad in Cumbria. In Wigton some of the youngsters ride on the wrong side and the paths are too narrow to use in places. Their parents should make them wear safety hats, but many don't.
D.
the kids just ride on the pavement!
only a few are safe enough to ride on the main roads.

Warfarin is usually replanned on the day of measurement if your INR is outside parameters?
Surprised they haven't got you on a novel anticoagulant Alf?

6.9, after doing a lot of shopping and chores is chaos!
Have lots to do while the weather is somewhat windy but the threat of rain is always present. It kept on raining overnight stopped early morning, started just before noon, but it's just cold now! Aren't we supposed to be having an Indian summer spell!
Got food to prepare, and some footie to get to.

There was a dish, locally known as 'lob scouse'. Any clue any one?

Covid enquiry on again, apparently and coincidentally, and I'm staggered by this, our pm and former pm have lost some WhatsApp messages! I couldn't believe it! A Tory being dishonest and lying to a court!

My best wishes to you all as always

I had a recipe for lobscouse in a book about the kind of food eaten on British ships during the Napoleonic Wars - it was a companion to the Patrick O'Brien novels. Also saw it on a TV programme on Scandinavian food and another one on food around Britain (Hairy Bikers I think, in Liverpool). A hearty, warming stew by the looks of it, but I've never made it.

I saw on an online site, some time ago, that the Welsh claim it as their own, having been brought to Wales by Vikings, way back when. It seems to be either the same as, or similar to, Cawl.

A quick google on lob scouse supports you @Annb: https://darley-newman.com/welsh-lobscouse-recipe/ How are your arms and shoulder now? Despite JKP's half Welsh heritage in 40 years together we have never had Cawl or Welsh cakes. But then we also haven't had onion roll, Bedfordshire clanger or smoked eels.

Been sore for years, Ian but I did manage a bit more movement than usual on Monday, so there's hope they will improve if I keep going with the exercises. That lobscouse recipe looks good but a few too many carbs for me, I think. I can see why it was popular on ships (Viking or British Royal Navy) - it's a bit like the kind of hotpot where you just keep adding to the pot day by day, making it richer each day.

Hello,
Luckily me, me’s and myself manage to keep my INR within my given range.
Unfortunately all these new anticoagulants react with my anti rejection medication. I would love to have less blood tests, the down side of less blood tests would be I would see less of the feel my bottomists, as I call them and usually we end up laughing over something or other, most of which cannot be repeated here.
Thanks for asking, stay safe.
