What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

F.B.G. at 0545 6.1 so somewhat worse than normal...probably the vaccine.

Just looked outside, it's pitch black and the stars are extremely bright and Orion is in the southwestern sky.

Marjorie wants to go on the bus to Carlisle and Tai Chi. I hope she is not pushing it too much but will take her to the bus in Wigton.
Have your best day.
Derek

Later.
Had to defrost two cars both frozen up with an air frost, so I sprayed deicer and kept both engines running so Marjorie had a car in Wigton when she got off the bus. All this just after 8 am.
Anyway she didn't feel well enough to go so it was all vain. Deicing one car is enough nowadays.
I will take her to Carlisle next week when I am not on Zoom.
D.
Hope Marjorie feels better soon, maybe, the jabs?I

You do get some lovely clear skies when it is cold, at this time of the season, and Orion is always in the West for most of the year, where I can see the belt quite clearly. As well as the great bear, or as we call it, the shopping trolley, Plaides cluster. And I do always spend a part of my evening, if the sky is clear, peacefully, skywatching!
If I get the chance, a visit to the planetarium in the big city, is a must!

6.5 this nearly freezing morning, clear with the temperature of three degrees at dawn!
What was the Philly sound group and this naked woman doing in my garden?
A quiet day yesterday. I was allowed time to have some (over) thinking time.

Chores, shopping and exercises will be done soon. Just listening to the covid enquiry.
One of the primary infectious diseases professors, who resigned from the government's think tank, is giving evidence.

I will return!

Post office lady says I cannot give you your Amazon parcel, you have no collection code for it. What parcel I say? I had gone in over something else. Everyone is offering helpful ideas. But no Amazon parcel collection code anywhere on my phone. All I had was an email off Amazon saying they were unable to deliver this parcel at the post office. The person besides me says follow the link in that email. What did it say...parcel collected from the post office last Wednesday. That's nonsense Post Office lady says, I didn't even get this parcel until Sat afternoon, and we were closed and she had to open up for them, you can't collect it before I receive it.

Sorry, but I can't give it you, I need the code.
Oh return it, I said, I can't be bothered. But if you haven't got the code because it says it says it's been collected said Post Office lady, you might have problems getting the refund. Hang on she said.

She picks her phone up. Amazon always answer me immediately, she said. And they did. Post Office Lady explains the situation. Do you know the lady Amazon ask? Yes, she's a regular says Post Office Lady. Oh just give her the parcel says Amazon person. Hang on says Post Office Lady, I need a code number to put down that this parcel has been collected to keep my books straight.

And I have my parcel....

Wildlife camera in the night...
Badger gets on garden swing
4 and a half minutes
He was at that swing all night...

Creative is some artwork I did with ink and water, and then using the same apps as as I have been using the last few days, I worked further on it.
A bit of magic for you. Make a wish....

Time for a nap...

Have a good day...

Good news - eventually - on the parcel collection. Thank you for sharing the wonderful creative and video. We've had Badger Bill, a kind of Tigerlilly, Freddie the Fox, many Clara the cats and probably Rastus Mouse. Will we be seeing the rest of the cast of Nutwood? I reckon we have Gaffer Jarge sorted :D Enjoy your nap

When the sky was clear, Tom would always insist on us all going outside where he would point out all the points of interest in the sky. Trouble was, it was usually cold when the sky was clear. I was more bothered about that than about the sky. But then, he was a navigator in the merchant navy all his life. The stars were important to him. Neil always called the Great Bear the Frying pan and would never agree to calling it anything else. He was quite young and very stubborn at the time. I always used to point out to him that, if he didn't use the same words for things as other people, he wouldn't be understood. I did also point out that language is for communicating with each other not for confusing each other. His idea was that everyone should use HIS language not that he should adapt. He has mellowed a bit since then, but not all that much. That's Aspergers for you.

Fairies at the bottom of your garden? Love the colours. Officialdom can be very frustrating, can't it? :arghh:

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of confused gender, in the interests of being woke tolerant today I am calling myself Loretta, but Mrs J is still calling me her usual abusive names.
Blood sugars this morning were 5.5

As me, me’s and myself were hobbling down the stairs first thing this morning I had one of those eureka moments, I discovered a new ache / pain in my ankle and thought to myself ah it’s my bodies way of letting me know I’m alive, ah the benefits of a pro active body. Then my thoughts drifted back to all the sports and activities I had partaken in during my youth, no wonder my body is extracting revenge, who knows. Ahh the expression you’ve got to be tough to get old seems to be true.

Well fellow posters and painters the day is moving on towards tomorrow so it’s time so wish you all well, stay safe and say don’t worry about the bed bugs, it’s the spiders in the cauliflowers, thankfully the media have not picked up on those yet.View attachment 63717
That is too big to be real???
Take the veg away! Yuk!

My field sports retirement were down to injuries gathered by frozen or baked pitches, my lower leg parts couldn't take any more. I have to include that playing two days on the weekend in leagues that were known for the brutality of the beautiful game (mostly dispensed by myself) added to this.
The four kids, work and Mrs L didn't have much influence on my decision. (Ha!)

Interestingly, one of my football coaches, told me, the best way to keep fit, other than the usual training exercise, was to stay away from bread, beer and spuds.
That has haunted me since diagnosis! More than any horror film or Halloween.

I used to enjoy my Rupert book every Christmas I found it magical in my young life.

I just reported the washer/ dryer fault and they wanted me to read off the numbers on the body inside the door. I had to get down on my knees to do it!
Would you believe it, it was difficult to get up again.
I would have tried to apply for an old age opt out clause.:) If I knew what it was like.

Thank you @ianpspurs

It would be a miracle if we did see the rest of the cast...

At least those numbers were not at the back of the machine...

There might have been an easier way to read those numbers @lindisfel
For many years my old electric and gas meters were too low down for me to get down to read. And so I used my smart phone or my iPad to reach to take photos.

This morning my electrics went. I was about to cook breakfast. But then I realised the light was on, it was just the sockets. And so I got my phone, put camera on and held my hand down and took random photos, as best I could, of the electric fuse box, the stickers what each switch was for were at the top of each switch just under the overhang of the top of the box, and impossible to see standing up. The fuse box was longer with more switches than was needed, so not every switch was on. I needed the photo to tell me which switch to flick back on. Once I had that, I could flick the right switch. What had been the problem...me not pushing the plug right in - I am finding that harder to do now...

Well that’s good that the Post Office lady had the whit to to sort your parcel out for you, some wouldn’t I fear. Smashing creative wishful art. It’s your secret garden.

Up in Northern Norway, Alta, that sort of place. The sky is blisteringly clear - mind you, the temperature is blisteringly cold but unlike the UK, very dry. Antarctic - well South Georgia is similar but for some reason the firmament is quite different. Oh, and crossing the equator in the middle of the night is quite interesting when all the ships lights are turned off apart from the little red and green ones.

Planning. When getting down on my knees, I need a plan which usually includes the positioning of a stool or chair. If not, then it’s free entertainment for any onlookers.

I did once see the aurora belourus(?), You know the different hues in the northern skies.
Another time returning late at night from the North East. Stunning!
Why don't you lot talk about it more?
The most spectacular sky I witnessed was in Greece. Or Crete if you like!
The milky way and the abundance of stars was something magical.
We were supposed to be having dinner at a restaurant in the harbour close by, I couldn't move from the view on the balcony of our room! We ate in, just sitting there, stargazing!

It's not the getting down, it is the first movement to try and get up, without a stable support, it can be hilarious as my rear end usually ends up in the air! I do have a prominent lower leg bone protruding in front of my knee, and it makes it awkward to use that to kneel.
I usually only put one knee down, still need support as this keeps my neck straighter.
I still bend over to pick things up, cos I forget to remember I shouldn't!
Bloody arthritis!

We have been looking at the northern lights off the pier in town - last month. Smashing but don’t tell anyone ortherwise we will be inundated with tic toc nut jobs doing selfies.
