What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a leaden skied but so far dry L.A.. Three grandchildren here today, one local the other two collected from Cambs. Due to the issues on the A14 - son /dad delayed by about 4 hrs - JKP also had to return the Cambs duo last evening :arghh: I stayed home minding MIL and watching football - she was insistent I watched :D Cookie making went well yesterday - at 2 and 4 years old it is just a fun activity with Nanny. @Annb congratulations on the weight loss and BG improvement. @dunelm you were a busy lad yesterday and thanks for sharing the art. @Krystyna23040 enjoy the break, meals, CWC n'all. @lindisfel I gave the funny not for the content but for you saying but I think I have different stuff that rocks my boat than most. Have yourselves as splendid a day as possible.
Thank you @ianpspurs

No7 or should I put #7 for Omar? Has been picked for competition. Unbelievable! So made up or chuffed or proud. Not getting the Yankee lingo! She has done remarkably well!

Have done gardening this afternoon and grass is cut, didn't rain, tidied up the autumn foliage. Hang on to your sou'wester as more and more rain is on its way, which is already far too much!
Feel sorry for those effected. And of course our Environment minister was out yesterday for a photo opportunity. Which was the target of my little poem!

Footie on this evening, so I might just leave you lot with more Tory news!

Roses are red
Tories are blue
One million kids
Have no food!

My best wishes to you all as always.

Boy badger has gone bananas.
I don't get it.
Boy Badger tugs at coverings on garden swing
He was at it most of the night again...
He is like a thing demented...

Creative..,couldn't sleep last night, coughing too much with this cold.
So I tried some painting apps I had downloaded but not used.
I liked this one.
I did a ginger cat and a yellow dandelion.
But when I saved it, the whole thing changed colour to a sickly pale green wash on picture and background. Ugh. Consequently I never finished the cat's detail. So I tried directly mailing it to myself, but when I saved it from mail, there was still the sickly green tinge. There was no pink on the original, it was just a ginger cat. If I can't sleep tonight, I might have one more try...

I messed with it, to try and restore what it had looked like. But failed. I'm sad because I had enjoyed playing with it....

Have your best day whatever lemons are slung at you...

Time for a coffee...

This would make an excellent poster

Fatty liver affects people who have T2D, its described as the last scream of an abused digestive system. The liver is being abused before a high Hba1c is manifest.

Not eating enough of the right kind of fat is causing it to make gall stones through not contracting enough when bile is needed....some think is the cause. Then when you want to use it in ernest they block the bile duct. The pain is terrible.

I have three large gallstones that fill my gall bladder re: CT scan and they are not going anywhere.
I sorted out my fatty liver once it was identified by going ballistic with a very low carb diet for a year. At that time I was able to do lots of exercise, which helped. It hasn’t returned.

There must be something in the air@SlimLizzy. I broke a piece off my upper molar on Saturday. Had an emergency appointment yesterday to do a temporary filling(£50) and she recommended a crown which means 1 1/2 hours in the chair for the preparation/ impression and temporary crown then a second appointment 3 weeks later to fit the actual crown (£680). I shall be eating very carefully in the hope that this repair stays in place for as long as possible!! Hope all goes well for you. :)
Ouch! Both for the tooth and the cost.

Evening

Been a good day.

Concerned about hospital visit today, but it went well.

Lots of pictures taken, the retinopathy lotion in action.

Inconclusive but up for debate if the crash trauma caused or exacerbated the issue

(Thin layer at back of eye, seems to delaminate as we age, usually it is a slow process, so potentially the impact may have 'ripped' the layer off like a sticking plaster, causing the sudden deterioration of vision, sort of thing )

So seems it's a real concern, but consensus seems to be it is possible to stabilise & most likely recover/repair it .

An Operation IS required, but with good success rate, so I'm told .

Been given date to speak to operating team regarding my suitability just before Xmas, then if deemed a good candidate op by middle of next year, please God .

So, one worry lessened at least.

Hope everyone's day went as well.

I hesitated between winner and hug @jjraak
Finally gave you a hug because of the relief of knowing, and hopefully the op at middle of next year as you said. Action is being taken. And they are on the case.

Yes, the news left me feeling like a heavy weight had been lifted, @gennepher .

Thank you, (& others for the kind responses) it felt like a bit of both, to be honest.

I was braced for bad news.
So left rather bouyed up by the more positive outcome.

Winner and hugs all round. Prospects looking positive for the op.

Good morning everyone from a dark o’clock start here in Bordeaux. Had a good catch up with my niece last night. We also discovered that in France, an Indian restaurant called Popadom does not necessarily mean that it actually serves popadoms - oh well. A nice 20 minutes stroll down to the airport in a wee while and then all the fuss of getting to departures. Art bit, a few Gingko leaves that were lying on the ground in the park a couple of days ago. Hope you day goes well. Best finish my koffy and get on my way.

Cat Midnight comes indoors before Boy Badger starts pulling cloths off the swing again...

Creative...
The app I used yesterday to paint with, had an update. It's added more colours, more brushstrokes, and more something else. I didn't find it fun last night, so gave up on it. I will try it another day when I can figure it out...

So I went into Procreate to draw some birds more in the style of Lin Fengmian...
I enjoyed doing these birds, I am not sure was they are thinking...except I was thinking of something as I drew them...

Time for a nap...
And a coffee...

Pensive looking birds. Hope the thinking was positive and happy.

8.9 at 3.45 am. I'd had to take painkillers before bed so managed to sleep until 3.30. Currently 10.3. A few grey clouds around, but bright areas in between them. Not very warm but it is dry and the wind isn't too bad. On my second lot of painkillers this morning already. Doesn't auger well but we shall see. One or two jobs I want to get done today, if I can but must be a bit careful - tomorrow is going to be a heavy day with 2 hospital appointments and an appointment to get my legs rebandaged.
