What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Helen said I have to take the duchess out for a meal every week.

Went out to a place on the Silloth road. Wheyrigg Hall.
We had a very filling meal but I don't like driving when it's very dark.
Turnings are not well lit up here in the country
D.
You have the northern lights.
You have Christmas lights.
You have bonfires. Plenty of trees.
No candles.
Moonlight!

Put your fog lamps on as well as full beam! No population, no blinding oncoming drivers!
Ha!

Plenty of street lamps in my town!

Good morning everyone from the metropolis city of the future where Fritz Lang rules the roost and Wifi is just dreadful. We are two doors down from where Freddy Mercury lived and still no Wifi. So, quick in and out. Did I mention that we have no Wifi? Art bit - my last poppy pic. Hope you all have a contemplative day. I will begin with contemplating some koffy.

It was raining so hard all day and last night, it was impossible to go and change the batteries or sd cards for the Wildlife cameras. And Midnight was a wuss. He refused to go out in that deluge, and used the cat tray for the first time...I found an old fish slice to clear the contents...
And this is the cat who would happily walk in the rain a year ago.
I think he is now officially a house cat...

Time for a cuppa...

Have your best kind of day.

Hi Ian,
Apparently it often helps your T and B cellsto execute their work in killing cancer if you enhance them by high dose Vit D. K2 is also said to be necessary to help the assimilation of D.

I hope they don't kill them, monotremes are very endangered.

Ooh. It doesn't say. I hope not.
Here is the link to a very short video

5.8 this morning.

A really good day yesterday. My top of the range Nespresso Machine broke down again. The 4th time since August. This time they are sending me a brand new replacement. It is a super machine but I must have just got a dud one. Or did i wear it out drinking so much coffee.

Tonight we are going out for a meal with friends. Really looking forward to that.

The weather app is promising a mostly dry day. It's raining a little already though.
MrSlim has just returned from a rubbish and recycling trip to the village with news that hunters are gathering there. Four or five vans with dogs, the men all in camouflage with high vis jackets. Contradictory much! In response I have called Kiki inside. Luckily she was close, galloping through the rain from the gazebo. Rewarded her prompt return with one of her favourite treats. Have been using these on Sundays about once an hour, if we are outside to keep her from wandering too far.
Yesterday the neighbours cat, Oreo was spotted walking past the front of the house. Kiki upped hackles like a dog. And when let out gave chase. Oreo is about 25% larger than Kiki but she didn't hesitate, she ran. Kiki chased her out of the garden and along the lane towards her own house. Have never seen her react like that before. Mostly I suspect the two avoid each other.

Banana - a herb, not a tree. A panda walks into a bar, eats, shoots and leaves.

Ah, the joys of the English language. Whoever said that punctuation didn't matter?

Edit: had to fix my own punctuation!

What music must they all be listening to that humans can't hear ...mmmhh.

A very slow Benny hill, maybe ...

It's a very beautiful day with wall to wall blue skies in Cumbria and frost on the grass still.

I have to take the Octavia in for a service on monday so it means tidying it up a bit, with a wash first, but I am not looking for getting cold.
Have had this sort of cold since Marjorie brought it home from the surgery c.four weeks ago, it's got on the bronchus a bit.

I know what's going to happen this afternoon. Helen on zoom will be chasing me to the doctor, but I don't want Monday and Tuesday disrupting. I am a stubborn old man.
We watched the Lord Mayors guard and the silence at 1100 remembering family who were soldiers.

Morning all from a very sunny L.A. where there is the most amazing duck egg blue sky in honour of the Glorious Dead. @dunelm how's the wifi where you are? Thank you for sharing today's and all the contemplative pieces. I hope you find this evening pays correct respect to all those who deserve such. @gennepher thanks for sharing the poppy based creative and video. @lindisfel I'm with Helen, get thee to the doctor but good man for taking Marjorie out for the meal. Sadly, I fear Suella has done her job according to the attached. Not in my name fella.

Just Morening 11:58 am Ladies and Gentleman, busy old morning here in Tilehurst Towers. One or all 6 of me, me’s and myself has to be grateful that we can be busy and we are.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.2 .

Remembrance Day, lots of discussion across the media, just about all of it I shall ignore, but tomorrow me, me’s and myself will watch the televised Cenotaph ceremony, it is a fixture here in Tilehurst Towers. Remember the discussion some years ago about the wearing of poppies in the media? My answer was and still is….
“ I wear a poppy to remember those who gave their lives so that I could choose to wear a poppy “

Now stay safe all

6.3 this bright sunny Saturday.
I'm still not right, headache, yeah but at a lower level but woke up early hours with hiccups pain and wind. And the usual full(ish) bladder, but it was uncomfortable and couldn't get back to sleep, so I went and wondered if a cuppa would make the difference but it was burning going down, so I took a stomach tablet microscope to ease it.
I did some jigsaw, then cos I was tired, my eyes wouldn't focus so I gave up on that, pottered about, some quiet chores watched the news, the tories want something to actually happen today, disgusting!
So, I went back to bed, so unlike me. Four hours later, I had to get up, and go the shops before the bakers shut.
Birthday card to get etc.
Didn't have a cuppa, Mrs L still very quiet but asleep. Had to wait till I got back in.
I feel disoriented, got washing to do and sort out the kitchen before the footie.

@lindisfel , I have the answer to your driving at night problem.
Buy a spotlight, rig it up on the roof, from the centre console, Bob's yer uncle.
Seen it done on the movies!

@gennepher, where are the owls?
Spurs are winning!

Have a lovely national footie and sack Cruella day!

Best wishes to you all as always!

FBG (0730) was 10.9. Once I was up and about it dropped to 8.5.

Had another call from iTalk from a much more pleasant man but I told him that the decision is made and we are switching to BT, he said he could give me a better deal than BT. What I want is not so much a better deal but a better service. We go with BT. He accepted that and rang off - no more arguments.

Today I had a letter from iTalk telling me I have until 12 pm on the 19th November to reconsider, after which the switch will be made. I shan't be reconsidering.

I'd much rather people used the 24 hour clock, then I know we are both talking about the same thing. To me 12 pm is midnight but others seem to think 12 pm is noon. Not that it matters in this case.
