What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sorry @gennepher not everone is my fortunate position I should have more thought.
God bless.
Derek
Oh, that is okay @lindisfel

I don't have private funds for something like this, but I can assure you I will beg, steal, and borrow to get funds to get a better person to do this cataract operation. I had already put some feelers out this last week and a half, just in case ...

You have a good day...

Morning all from a dull start to the week before something or other. @gennepher hugs, prayers and best wishes for good outcomes from the visit to the eye hospital. Some good advice given already. @jjraak likewise for the good wishes and prayers over eyes. @SlimLizzy those cakes are both wonderful gifts either the more comely one (in your eyes) or the less favoured one turned into the base of the ginger and pear trifle. I hope your sister has what you need for under the skirt. Some good ideas for Mr Slim's present - see later. @dunelm sensationally splendid artwork today (well actually always) so many thanks. @dunelm hope #wrappingpapergate goes well. I'm off looking for a recyclable bag for JKP's not so surprise, surprise since most Christmas wrapping paper isn't recyclable and our bin men have a habit of not emptying bins containing anything deemed wrong. @Annb good news that DIL can move about. @JohnEGreen oh dear (air quotes) for 30p Lee episode. Interesting to read what others like to eat or have as reminders of Christmas past. Ginger is definitely off my list but MIL loves ginger wine and she'll be 94 on Twelfth night so what do I know?. I do know that rum butter, beloved of JKP and MIL, is just wrong to my mind. I can’t even stay in the same room. I’m a tad spoilt perhaps? Just to finish up on presents/traditions here’s two extremes neatly summarising where we’ve ended up: Christmas Dad Vs Millenial Christmas. Wot no Elf on the shelf pics?

This mornings walk in the park was stunning. There was a beautiful rainbow directly over the park and an amazing red sunrise. We have never seen a rainbow directly over the park before.

It was also lovely to meet and chat with fellow dog walkers

What a lovely start to the day.
Be a nice thought if that was Archie over the rainbow bridge checking you're all ok xx

Good morning everyone on yet another blustery day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this am but never mind the quality, feel the width. Blown, blasted, whirled and whisked into town yesterday. The return though was heads into the wind like rounding the horn in a storm but without Kenneth, Barry Took or Marty Feldman to do the fancy scripts. Today is a bit of an unknown but I do need to get a sheet of wrapping paper to conceal a gift that is currently hiding in the back of my wardrobe. Art bit, the sea, the sea! Hope your day is kind to you and all the very best to @gennepher and @jjraak for forthcoming eye appointments. I need to finish my koffy and then do some exercises.

Thank you @ianpspurs and I now simply must get a hideously knitted and durable baby Jesus tree decoration - thank’s for the idea Edith Pritchett.

Wow. This is fantastic.

Six sleeps to go.
Weather, wet and windy, but warm, 13 on thermometer.
6.8 this am!
A day of pre chrimbo chores defrosting, cleaning, tidying and the usual.

@gennepher hope you try to enjoy your trip to Scouseland, and get the answers you should be comfortable with!

Today's tip.

When you boom B&B ensure, that the place actually does breakfast.
We had a trip to Torquay late summer and couldn't get our usual hotel (no ads!)
Went down for food, no brekkie!
We found a place that was the railway station close by and even tho, we had to form out (sorry!) It was worth it!

Another time down there, we stayed in an exclusive luxury hotel, the pillow were so soft, it made you go deaf!
Some of the food on offer was out of my league!
Stuck to bacon and eggs.S

My best wishes to you all as always.

Just having a coffee before I go in.

In my mind the D n D N is full to the gunnels with them. Based purely on all the tediously "professional" northern folk at Uni who always insisted on (over) playing the role of pantomime/sitcom version of their forebears. Bet Uncle Mort had the pattern.

Thank you @Lamont D
Found that TJ Hughes has finally closed down from last year . One of Jo's last jobs was building the moving Xmas grottos. ..

On underground on way home...(yay me, another challenge taken on )

Just finished appointment..lots of waiting around , almost normal T2D eye test, drops blah, blah, blah.

Seems I might have to get a little fitter to avoid them cancelling op, but plan was to enjoy chrimbo and set sail for a healthier 2024, so that should be do able .

Down on the list for the op, might be a 6 months plus wait, which gives me the time needed, please God.

So Jan 2024, back to testing.
Back to lchf.
Back to life.
Back to the sunlight.

Time to shake off the debilitation of the last 2 years & face life afresh.

The hug is for the unspoken idea that somehow you have not been on an amazing journey over the last two years. For a man who praises and inspires others while talking so much common sense you can spout some nonsense about yourself at times  :D

Many thanks.
Most kind to say so @ianpspurs

Respect.

I gave a hug to jjraak as well. That was bec use it sounded as though it might be a daunting challenge. Not too daunting, I'm sure, but not the happiest thought just before Christmas.
