What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thank you @Lamont D

I wonder how everyone else thinks their school reports might look this year . Mmmh.

Ups , downs, but always a few positives to carry into the new year, I think & hope for everyone.
A quick reply @jjraak ,
I think everyone's year will be similar to a graph of my BG levels after carbs, a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but it will be different for each of us.
And I believe, each will have to do better at some things and be quite satisfied with the rest.
One can only do their best!
One actually sounds posh there!

Another relaxing day - reading, drinking coffee and dog walking.

I started reading Richard Osman's latest book. I do hate givIng up on a book but just couldn't continue reading it as it was so rubbish. It had lots of good reviews on Amazon which was a bit puzzling.

Luckily Mr K had just finished the latest Peter James book. Have started reading it and Mr K is right - it is a much better book.

I gave up on Richard Osman's books really on the 2nd Thursday Murder Club but bought the third one just to make sure. That sealed it! Better off with Enid Blyton. Or one of my other favourite books as a child - P C Wren's Beau Geste. The new "Enid Blyton" books, by the way, are written by someone called Bruce Vincent. Not an author I'd heard of, but I will get around to reading at least one of the four.

@gennepher and @dunelm thank you both for sharing your wonderful art. @jjraak good end of term report. In the old days you could perhaps have expected a racing bike but peace within one's own skin is reward enough. Interesting seasonal Lithuanian food and thought provoking customs learned as well as lots to ponder on and "unpack" - from the last few days. @gennepher interestingly no badger in today's video.

The 4th book is even worse than the 3rd. The "Enid Blyton" books sound interesting.

part of my chrimbo pressies is an Amazon voucher. So I get some e books, so far Jodi Taylor's Christmas day short story and Angela Marsons latest Kim stone detective series #19.
I have thought about Osmans third in the series but the price is a bit hefty.

Footie went ok.
More footie.

Great to get an Amazon voucher as a pressie.. I do really like detective series. Haven't read the Kim Stone detective series yet.
I found the 3rd Osman book a bit disappointing although it got good reviews.

The Osman book. Not worth half the price!

Just had a quick look at the first of the Famous Five books. First 2 chapters took about 3 minutes to read (very short, as the original Blyton books) and were extremely irritating. Don't feel like reading any more.

Edit: oh dear, I do sound like an old misery.:(

There must be a go to book for you to enjoy.
As a bit of a fan of an author, a short story always does the trick for me, or getting into a old favourite.
it's not like you don't have a choice!
I have just got through a what if series again!
Clearing the time for the latest lot of reading to read.

I do hate that feeling, that frustration of a bad book!

Yes, I've just gone back to my Canterbury Tales. Guess I'm just old-fashioned (medieval).

You definitely don't sound like an old misery @Annb. I agree that the Osman book wasn't worth half the price.

I couldn't watch Man U In disgracing themselves again last night so I set up the duchess on chrome casting prime to our living room tele and went to bed and read.
I was tired anyway and had a biggish meal, for me, and then they won!

Is this a new dawn for Man U?
Their coach's dad (not manager) lives near my youngest, I just hope I am as fit when I get to his age. He spent all day on a sail board at Filey when he was my age.
