What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from another dry, calm and mild start here - it won't last but nor will we forever. Drip trip day which is always a stark reminder of my mortality and the audacity of any plan for the year (we have one) - remember oh man thou art dust. Best park that tomorrow as MIL will be 94 - God willing. @Annb and @jjraak thanks for reminding me that perhaps I should save some data though my google docs and workbook are full of hyperlinks. I don't take photos or video - JKP feels the need - saves storage issues. @dunelm I appreciate some people can’t WFH as per your daughter and say Anne's postman son. Interesting that my #3 son’s work, which is in the same field, found it impractical/uneconomic to open from well before lunchtime on the Friday before Christmas until next Monday. @lindisfel good man for helping the ex JW and trying not to vex Marjorie. @Annb and @jjraak thank you both for the humour. Have a good Thursday everyone if you can if not bend don't break. As for me, I must not be too late to ensure I hydrate. Have a song - no, not January by Pilot.
As always, all the best for the drip trip.

Good morning everyone from a pleasantly dry start to our first International Bin Day of the year here in the dark and dangerous north. So, a dry walk into town is on the cards. We don’t mind wet walks; we have fancy boil in the bag waterproof togs and eye turning welly boots. As a veteran telegraphist, my ears have been specially tuned from years of sending and receiving morse code and listening to the startup sound of early fax machinery. So, when the whispers started, barely heard above the background noise of the ticking of the clock, with words like ‘trip’, ‘holiday’ and ‘flights’ - my quarter wave antennae picked up the low frequency utterances like an Inuit listening for Whale sounds. I know that we are going to Norway later this year so will patiently wait further developments. Art bit - no idea. Have a good day if you can. I really must make some koffy.

Fbg not taken it as no sleep, but no nightmares...

Will catch up on sleep later...

Creative is just me playing in the SketchClubApp.
No meaning to be found in it...as far as I know...

Wildlife nighttime video.
Midnight checks on Cat Jade - Fox also checks on Jade but she's gone hunting
21secs

The sun is out
Weather app says no rain
No sun in my garden yet, sun is too low in the sky...
BUT the tops of my willows are catching the sun and I can see silky silvery catkins forming...

Have your best day

Good Art Bit @dunelm
Coffee smells good...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who celebrate national bin day.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.1, me, me’s and myself know why and if I told you why I would have to cry havoc and unleash the dogs of war.

@ianpspurs good luck on your drip trip.

Now it’s time to be elsewhere, remember a smile costs nothing and causes the recipient concern, why is that stranger smiling at me?

Yes life in all forms is good, but only if you open your mind, wow that’s a bit deep for me, I must kneed koffy.

Stay safe all.
Edit
Mrs J has just uttered those words “If you can bear with me “
My reply is “ No chance it’s to cold and at my age, what’s come over you woman “

I don't know how you make such complicated works of art. Brilliant.

Looks like Sir Midnight to the rescue again.

I don't imagine you will enjoy it, but have as good a day as you can on your drip trip.

Just back from town, diabetic foot check done - I still have pulses in my feet, albeit faint because of all the fluid round about. Not that the feet are as swollen as usual - the funny toe compression socks (like fingerless gloves but for the toes) seem to have done some good. Bought a new dishwasher, which will be delivered tomorrow (and they'll take away the old one).

BG at 0345 was 8.9. Insulin, breakfast, tea, pills and off to town. By the time I got back, I was feeling a bit odd and starting to feel a bit hot, then I started a slight tremor. Checked BG - it was 3.3. Time to take remedial action. One of the advantages of wearing a Libre sensor, is that it warns you when BG is dropping too low. My last sensor wouldn't talk to the monitor though, so I've had to go back to the fingerpricking business, which I don't do very often.

Thanks and thank you also @dunelm @gennepher and @alf_Josiah The process is fine, I'm sitting here in a comfy chair drinking coffee having eaten babybels and a not cross bun. All good in this hood thanks. I hope the new dishwasher is fab-u-lous.

Good that you will be keeping in touch but am I missing something? Borg - Star Trek, old Norse fortification, German for credit?
The mindless JW machine organisation that feeds itself and could
be unqualified to be a charity as it causes much suffering to ex members and untold harm with using it's funds against the innocent and getting pedophile elders and others off.
The government should sequest its funds, they are not eligible and give them to be divided equally amongst the countries food banks that are not sectarian in their treatment of others.
D.

But it's not my work it is God's.

Yesterday I was so lucky. I am at my limit workwise and cannot take on any more work as I teach 6 days a week.
Then I got an email from my local vet asking if I could run classes for them at their premises as vets do suffer from back pain.
I really wanted to help as they are such lovely people and offered them 9pm after my local Wednesday classes or before they open on Friday mornings.
Thank goodness these times didn't work for them as I really don't think that I could have coped with the extra work.

The context alerted me to the meaning Derek attached. What I hadn't realised was how widespread was the usage. This - especially the JW part - is fascinating despite me internally shrivelling at the connection or even mention of that b programme.

Afternoon.

Morning fbg taken 9.6...mmhh

Looks like after a 2 year sabbatical it's the long road back for moi.

Odd thing happened this morning

Exited station.

And what I thought was a young lady engaging in polite conversation with an Uber type food cyclist, was,
( a fact revealed by noticing I was seeing the actual crack of her bottom)

A young (early 20's I'd guess) rather attractive young lady, being offered the coat of the Uber delivery guy.

Because as she turned around to face me, proclaiming her message of skin freedom, I could see she had inadvertently got dressed in the dark and put on her one button birthday suit....silly girl, but we've all done it, right ?

Said gent ( for he was) was proffering the coat so she could cover herself up, as it was freezing at 630 am .
She declined repeatedly.

I could hear her passion as she proudly exclaimed we should all be 'free' like her , as she held her hands up, loud & proud

While Uber guy was trying to cover her up, I made the police aware.

She didn't seem it, but she may have suffered a spiked drink last night, had too much of something dodgy or be suffering some mental issue
And could I concede, just be making a valid point.

But not willing to risk leaving her to frostbite (ouch) or stray hands, it seems I wasn't the only one to call & report.

Police & ambulance arrived promptly.
So I do hope she's ok
And if making a point, waits until warmer weather at least .

So far the most peculiar day of 2024...not sure I'd have had that on my 2024 bingo card....lol
