What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a wintry LA - often seems to be like this around this tine of year. As if the ancients had some ancient country wisdom, my Grandfather was fond of saying as the days grow longer so the cold grows stronger (there are regional versions I believe). A few more days of this and Pilot will be playing on loop. Hugs for @JohnEGreen and @lindisfel for Keloids and @SlimLizzy plus Mr Slim for the heavy colds. @dunelm enjoy the fresh pack of coffee and pallet cleaning. Once again thank you so much for another in this series of which unbeknownst to me has been in my wheelhouse (when did that become a UK phrase it is from Baseball I believe?) since - well, at least last month. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative. I see quite a malign looking feline face in the bottom right hand corner but then I'm definitely not a cat person. Hug for the early waking winner for the creative. Time for more tea here, Pip Pip Old Toots.
Oh yeah @ianpspurs
I didn't know the evil malign cat monster was there...

MrSlim invested in a Heston approved? Designed? Coffee maker. He was extremely annoyed to find I had repacked it and stored it in the attic while he returned to UK during the first Covid lockdown. I got fed up with dusting it!
It was restored to its place in the kitchen and has since then possibly been used a dozen times. I keep thinking I should learn to use it, but it's so noisy and such a faff to clean....and he gets ground coffee everywhere whenever he uses it...
I could really use the extra work surface space ...
Perhaps it's headed for the attic again!
If a man with such excellent taste as Mr Slim has purchased a Sage machine who am I to gainsay such an authority? The review of the Sage range I read suggests the machine that is about £1k cheaper would be better (only in chrome, the white is a monument to bad taste) so negotiations are much easier. :D As for where it goes we have our eyes on a utility room - attached to a different house and in Cambs but obviously that requires God' to make his countenance to shine upon us. Phase 1 now seems to have finally fallen in place after Iceberg Lizzy. - this guy is toast so hope springs eternal.

Noooooo!!! Not Nescafé! MrSlim and I do drink instant most of the time, but a French version. Much better flavour.

And today we have a light sprinkling of the white stuff. Midday and temp is now up to 0°C. Chilly out there. Time to light the fire and huddle a bit.
I have two new jigsaw puzzles, chosen because they looked difficult. Should occupy me for longer than the three days the last one took.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.6, what they are now is a mystery and of little interest to man nor beast.

Koffy machines? Here in Tilehurst Towers we have 2, posh we ain’t.
1 is a kettle for instant.
2 is a caffetiere for ground flash koffy, but never in the morning as strong koffy plays havoc with my digestive system. Two, to or too much information?

Now I’m not saying it’s cold, but for this gas quarter I might regret selling my shares in British Gas, or whatever they are now.

It’s time for me, me’s and myself to go. Finish my 10:30 cup of tea and contemplate beech planks and the pricing there of, also plinky plonky is calling, the theme music to Dr Who has never sounded so bad. Wee woo tum tum te tum.

Edit, RIP JPR, a sporting legend.

Marvellous.
When we holidayed in Kefalonia, we had an excursion to an underground fresh water source, it had a hole in the ground above the flow of water. You could have a boat ride around the cavern. It was very much like your art @gennepher. I really like this!

6.8 this cold and frosty morning.

Bright sunshine on a cloudy day!
With my girl.
My girl.

I am in disbelief, my front lawn could do with a trim, grass is supposed to be dormant at these temperatures.
But will have to wait till it warms a bit, still too wet!

#8 has given me the run around this morning. He is so entertaining and lovable, a true character in the making.
His talking is so good, and of course, what? To every question and grandad to get something. It brightens up Mrs L, puts a smile on her face.

May be late tomorrow, Mrs L has her assessment early tomorrow. Hoping to get further with diagnosis or some treatment rather than the last time, pushing counselling. We will see.

More chores to do and cooking for later.

My best wishes to you all as always!
