What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Supervises the producers. Or maybe facilitates the production team.
Isn't that the job of the best boy grip ..... :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

All this talk of PA's.

Can't wait to hear the chatter over AA's.

But sure it'll be fine .....
Theresa Coffey supports it ... :wideyed: :bag::banghead:

Just by chance, anyone got any spare antibiotics I can 'borrow'...:hilarious:

Just read what what you were talking about earier.

Being paid so little to get their brains destroyed!

I know a post man who has been one of the leading birders in the north of England for many years. c.30 years ago, when he was about twenty, he found an extemely rare Spanish Sparrow in my hamlet, when we were at the Keswick convention.
I knew him well, we were both on the same Cumbria birds records
comittee.
This young man could have been a cracking tour guide and travelled the world.
But as a postman living with his family he could see birds every day, birding Cumbria, he has a happy life.
His round takes him to the area in the shadow of Cross Fell. No doubt the Helm has often blown his van door shut.

Only six Spanish Sparrows had ever been seen in the Uk. This one
eventually visited my garden for two years.

All I can is say, poor devils, those who just work for money.
D.

Fbg 6.3 temperature here -6 degrees I’m staying in bed with the heated throw on highest setting.
Good man @JohnEGreen
It was -5C in the night here. And snow...

Not only do I have the heated throw on (by the way, I only ever have it on the lowest setting, just me being cautious, because as a 10 year old my friend took me to her grandparents bedroom where the heated under blanket had gone on fire, grandparents ok but bed was a burnt charred mess - that is etched in my memory), but I put my heated body warmer/jacket on last night as well.

I would also like to explain first that I cannot lie down in bed like most of you because of my heartburn/GERD etc, and so I sleep (propped up with pillows) sitting up. I would NOT wear the heated jacket lying down, because that could/would cause the heated areas, I was lying on, to overheat.

I do feel we need to be cautious with these heated throws and jackets et cetera because at the end of the day they are from China, no disrespect to China, but we don't know the safety of a lot of these things. And I have read reviews on Amazon where people said they heated up too much in one area, then they said the thing kept turning off so they just turned it back on again. Well they thought it was a fault. But if you read instructions, (those that are not in Chinese, although google translate will offer some assistance here) some of them do mention that if they are overheating, they will just turn off for safety measures, but people appear to be overriding that, and just turning it straight back on again.

So to this end, I have now ordered a second jacket and then I can swap jackets once the battery has run down that day, it is at my post office collection point now, but there's no way I can go out and get that today... hopefully in the next couple of days I can go and get it but I'm not going down that steep hill, not in these icy conditions.

I also have two heated throws and I swap them over when one has been on for a few hours. I have done that for the last few years with the heated throws, but this is just me being very cautious..

Just think @jjraak my first job title was 'gopher'...
What would I be called now...
Basically I was just a tea girl, but the men (I was the only female there) discovered I was a quick learner, and and I ended up typesetting, doing/making the screens for screen printing and doing the screen printing - the whole job from beginning to end, and even lithography (I drew the designs on the metal plates, and printed them), and more, and they were quite happy to teach me all this. I think the unions would have had a field day if they had known.
The only thing they didn't let me on, (from start to finish of the job) was the linotype and monotype machines (although I did have a go on the linotype machine!).

Good morning everyone on a cold and snowy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Snow, bin day and diabetic review - all on the same day - the excitement is palpable. Also, we have a siblings lunch today. Not my siblings - they live in Bristol, Spain, The Netherlands and two unfortunates residing in the USA - no, Mrs Miggins’ siblings and, of course spousal drag alongside - what fun! Wonder if we will get snowed in like I did one year at the Tan Hill Pub. Pubs are of course the very places to get snowed in. Art bit, must have been thinking about where autumn went to. Hope you all stay nice and warm, I may need my welly boots this morning. But first, some koffy.

Morning all from a very cold L.A. Allegedly -7 which feels like -11 but I'm not willing to test that. Drip trip day so taking fluid on board now. I should start treatment at 11.00 so "roads" (more cracked and hollowed out Fen tracks in places. Carve through the real Fens from here to near Ely) should be ok and it will be my breakfast time by stage two (of three, two is the main one). @dunelm what an exciting and busy day you have. Thank you for sharing the art - reminds me of the washes in my home village which had railway embankments between them and the Ouse. @gennepher wonderful to read how you made your way in the graphic design/print world? and how sensible you are with heated throws and garments. Thank you for sharing the creative - I find that one vaguely disturbing, half expecting a witch to jump out from the screen. @JohnEGreen good call staying in bed. Right on cue attached is in the digital version of the Guardian today. I'm hoping the venison casserole and keto suet crust later is better than most bang average keto/lc winter fayre. Enjoy your day and stay warm.

Loads - I've been prescribed ones that don't agree with me so often...disposal is a problem so they are still in my medicine drawer.
