5.1 this morning. Just dashing off to classes in Norwich.
So many people this winter are going down with these bugs - very few seem to have just colds and even those who have are having the worst colds ever. What a winter! Wonder if it is because of the lockdown or because of the Covid itself. Could be because we were all so isolated for so long that we have lost some of our tolerance for these viruses.Morning all - just - from L.A. where the air temperature is higher but the wind means it doesn't feel much warmer. My fbg is unknown but diabetic eye check revealed no retinopathy. Thanks be to God. @lindisfel good news on the new lease of life and new/newer mattress. @Annb hug for the food issue and your guests' illness. @dunelm and @gennepher thanks for sharing the art. Hope your Saturday is all you wish for but if not try Sunday.
Congratulations to Kiki and obviously you for teaching her with faith and patience.20.01
FBG 5.2
-2°C outside. Heavy frost. Very pretty but feel cold just looking it.
MrSlim made a gargantuan portion of porridge with milk. Not something that reheats successfully and I fancied something warm. So - added a dash of cream and handful of grated cheese, stirred until cheese melted and served with a little more cream and coffee. Not the most delicious breakfast, probably not on repeat, but bg after about an hour was 6.5 and another hour ish later back down to 5.1.
Not sure what these figures mean.
Kiki has finally understood the purpose of my teaching her to ring a bell. Its not actually about the treats - its about communicating a desire for someone to open the door. Hooray!!!
Its great to see MrSlim almost leap up from the table on hearing the bell to let her out. The bell seems to penetrate concentration on his phone even when a mew does not.
Now I just need to find another bell to hang outside. Which is the ultimate goal of the exercise. Kiki does appear at the salon window and mew (Very quietly) to be let in. If the curtains are shut, as they are in cold weather, or tv on. we don't see or hear her. So anticipating this have been experimenting with a small brassl bell for several months.
I think it's been difficult fo her because the first touches I taught her were gentle and the bell requires a more forceful touch to sound. I am vastly pleased with her for making this leap in comprehension.
Well done ..& well done Kiki.Kiki has finally understood the purpose of my teaching her to ring a bell. Its not actually about the treats - its about communicating a desire for someone to open the door. Hooray!

Industrial but inventive and strikingly different, excellent.Fbg 6.7
Nighttime wildlife video
Jade tries several times to lick the frozen water...& all the other nighttime visitors come to visit...
I do have a bucket of water in my kitchen and another in the garage...but Jade doesn't come into my bungalow...
1min
Creative...3 bits of graffiti (?) I saw yesterday. Or was someone commissioned to do these? These 3 were by the docks where I was parked...
Have your best day...
Time for a cuppa and a nap...

Our cat, the long departed Jimmy, had us well trained to open the front door for him when he knocked. The letter box was low down in the door and well within his reach. He must have lifted the flap one day to look inside and when he dropped it, we heard the clatter and went to the door. He strolled in as though he owned the joint (which, of course, he did). Thereafter, he would always knock on the door to be let in. Pretty sure he was the one doing the training, not us.20.01

I like sea views. I can smell the sand as the tide ebbs.Good morning everyone from a Whistle Down The Wind start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. An exciting and surprising 4.8 at 0600. Didn’t last long once liver got its nose in and photobombed it. Always some body part wanting to ruin it all for everyone else. Bladder is the worse culprit, especially when having a jolly nice time walking in the great, public convenience free outdoors. According to some American tourists, all mountain paths and peaks should have ‘rest rooms’. Luckily I know how to sit on a rock to rest or hide behind a shepherd’s Bush. Art bit, blockbuster video card smeared paint decided it was the local cliffs. Hope your day is a good one, I don’t have a clue what mine will be like but then I think horoscopes are about as much use as the weather forecast. Koffy - that constant, is calling. Grumbling brightly.

The tyranny of the sat nav.
If I should be so unfortunate as to have one of those 1984 devices that cause softening of the brain.
Rule 1. The most important rule. And only rule.
Thou shalt not be switched on unless completely lost.
Ps. it doesn't know and isn't fit to speak to a mouse.
Thank you so much @gennepherLove your blockbuster cliffs!
That blockbuster card is gold in your hands @dunelm
Thanks @ianpspurs. Hope your day is a blast - but not enough to knock you over.Morning all - just - from L.A. where the air temperature is higher but the wind means it doesn't feel much warmer. I've run out of superlatives about your art. Great painting, whatever you used to produce it. 5.8 this non footie Saturday.
Shocking isn't it, the weather has frosted or waterlogged the turf we were due to try and perform on.
No shocked about an under 6 reading, wow!
Could it be , I'm behaving and being ultra LC?
Could it be, the chores and shoppr?
Could it be, #6 & #8 giving me a really good play and cheering me up no end for a couple of hours?
Probs all three. But so welcome. I did retest and it was the same.
Was rough yesterday, Mrs L and I had an achy breaky Friday. Not much done after essentials.
Meant more first thing, as Mrs L having a lie in, in the warmth of the July heat. (Wanted a day trip, last night in discussions, and isn't it her sisters birthday?) No!
Really still cold, out there. Only just above freezing on thermometer, windy, freeze, raining. Happy days.
Still ice on garden, won't be doing nowt out there, especially with storm coming tomorrow, unless it's Monday.
never had a cst, always dogs. But, my son's have a dog and a cat each!
Next door but two used to have a cat, it used to pick a spot to message me, a reminder of his being!
never did find out what happened to it. They are not my favourite.
We did have a cat when I was a nipper, and used to leave his prey on the carpet in front of the fire, we never fed him, sounds a bit harsh, but he defo had another home somewhere in the next street, we found out by the kids there. Or maybe more than one? Cats are like that.
Best wishes to you all as always!
No footie! What is there to do
