What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a distinctly cool L.A. I don't know my fbg but I weighed in at 162 pounds and my resting heart rate is back in the 60s so I'm good to go for my first round match at Wimbledon. Thanks in advance for the creatives that will be shared and for the tight knit little community on this thread. This week will see an ill conceived and dysfunctional heating system replaced here and - please God - a similar government roundly trounced and denounced as the most dire in history. 'Ave it.
Hope the clear up went well after the water leak and the replacing of the heating system goes smoothly.

It will be so good to get rid of both the dysfunctional government and dysfunctional heating system in the same week.

Your Sunday sounds wonderful. I'm so glad to read that. Really only the ceiling stains so far but the insurance company should deal with that and perhaps a few other incidentals. I've just read this and now feel quite sorry for Rishi and perhaps a little for Pritti and Suella. Seems to have nailed the hypocrisy within this Faragist iteration of the Blue Team.

Fbg 6.8

Very cold here. Needed my heated jacket yesterday.
A very hefty pigeon was just trying to figure out how to hang on to the birds fatball feeder. He failed miserably...but he tried...

Nighttime wildlife video
Cat (Midnight ) on swing (out of sight bottom right) being rocked by Pa badger
36 secs

Creative...mislaid my more delicate fine Japanese calligraphy brush pen, so used my English calligraphy pen which is clumsy to draw with by comparison...so not happy with this effort this morning... in Snapseed for copyright and name and date.

Time for a nap and a cuppa tea...

Have your best kind of day...

Hug for the cold but thank you for sharing that amazing creative which certainly looks good to me.

Unfortunately I have been taking them daily for over 10 years weight went up to 18 Stone at one point took some pretty drastic measures to get it down again.
Neil was on steroids for a couple of years to treat his sarcoidosis. He put on lots of weight but not because he ate any more than usual, he just developed a "tummy". He's back to his normal cadaverous self now; gradually lost the weight over the last few months, just by not having steroids even though his appetite has improved since stopping the steroids.

BG at 05.20 was 6.0.

I think Anna Soubry's take on Farage is absolutely spot on @ianpspurs
Maybe so, I wouldn't know, but it was certainly not what I would have expected a lady to say, never mind a politician. Why do women in positions of power seem to think that they must out-do the baser elements of some males' behaviour?

I feel you are rather tongue in cheek there, @ianpspurs

So a cheeky "do give your head a wobble " back to you...lol.

But let's not forget, THIS was a man who happily created an impoverishment of so many as a person of interest in the financial crash, as long as he personally gained from it.

A man party to the death of tens of thousands as a member of the government during its complete capitulation in even bothering to read the documents painstakingly set out to help any government facing such a pandemic & their gross mismanagement of the COVID crisis.
(Tho' sunbed ted raab the useless did admit to flicking through it while on holiday )

Excludeds & eat out to spread it about, to name but two instances

A man party to, as a conservative MP, the removal of billions of pounds from the country to fund highly dubious payment for testing, PPE & the ubiquitous VIP lane so brutally used and abused by this government.

And a man who none of us voted for and who even the Tories didn't want when the had the chance and voted in the lettuce.

So feeling sorry for him....mmhh

Not got an ounce of it in my body for him or the whole rotten cabal.

Prison won't happen, sadly.
That's the only sadness I feel concerning any of them.

As said, I know it's slightly tongue in cheek .

I'd just hate anyone to even hint at thinking they deserve an ounce of the sympathy that they missed giving to millions as they suffered & died under this government.
One that was clearly the worst regime I can ever remember.

I think all three of them plus at least Javid and Cleverly have been desperate to belong to the inner magic circle of Tories but didn't realise that circle were just as disparaging of them as they are of "us" For all his money Sunak isn't one of the inner blue "us" in the way Cameron is nor are any of the others. I also think Nigel feels like an outsider. England is still an ultra class conscious and racist country and those people have been used to send a message that talent and hard work still pay whereas the stats tell a different story. Apples will always fall in orchards.
Edited to make 2nd use of us clear

Interesting read Ian. It sums up the situation absolutely. I have always felt quite sorry for the man and all the taunts he has had to suffer but realise that it is a matter of being able to withstand the heat or getting out of the kitchen. Not a kitchen I would choose to work in. Too many flaws I'm afraid to be throwing stones at any one else. However, sympathy only goes so far. He is intelligent enough to be able to see the effects of policies despite his background. Hopefully the misery will soon be over for many of the incumbents, but then, I thought that years ago when "the Iron Lady" was around and look what happened. I thought then, "Surely that couldn't happen." But it did! I'm not assuming anything. If it seems likely that the man Trump could be re-elected in America, then a similar thing could happen here. I'm being unusually pessimistic.

I seriously wonder if Sunak really "gets" that he will never be accepted into the inner sanctum however much money he has. He'd be better off in the US where he'd be accepted for being wealthy. In the US people seem to be viewing their option as between an old man and a conman. Given a good VP (probably not Harris) the old man could/should beat Trump, serve for a while and ride off into the sunset.

You're clearly more optimistic than me, Ian. We (the world) might have to suffer a while more before we learn what is right and what is self-interest. Maybe my cold is just getting me down though. Come on Ann, let's have a bit of optimism here. I would say faith, but I'm not sure what the greater plan is which faith would require me to accept gladly.

Unfortunate turn of events at the hospital this morning one ha not realised that injectables were not supposed to be used yesterday doctor said if we went ahead with procedure I could have a serious bleed so no go is rebooked for next Sunday and will have to go through all this again most unfortunate.

Oh John what a crazy, stressful situation. Hugs, thoughts and prayers for you and Judith.

Unfortunate indeed. Wonder why someone didn't think to tell you that. I know it happens (usually in a less serious situation) but there's really no excuse. Now that you have the information it should be fairly straightforward, and you are used to it now. Hope and pray all goes well next Sunday.

By the way, I found a lot more interesting data on the Viking line of my family - fun really because it all came from the Norse sagas so can't be verified - all about Ragnar Lodbrok's ancestors - claimed to be descended from Odin and the various web sites supported it. Maybe there wasn't a "god" Odin but if not, maybe he had a cousin called Odin who was some kind of a warlord. (Harking back to a Jewish gentleman who once said, "There may not have been a great leader of the Jewish people called Moses, but if not, he certainly had a cousin called Moses.") I suppose, believe what you want to believe. Much as I would like to think there were some god-like qualities in my DNA, I ha'e ma doobts.

6.8 this beautiful sunny day, 25 degrees and the world is such a beautiful place.
Sitting in my garden, with birdsong, and the quiet is relaxing and cathartic.

Up at 5am cos Mrs L decided she wanted a cuppa, a couple of accidents laters, and I was cleaning up the broken cup and brushing the mess up.

I have a cold and went to the shops with a mask on.
Cos I thought it best to!

The latest figures from the government without the Tory adjustment, is 11 million in poverty.
Around 3 million are children.
Food banks are still on the increase.
Banks are still getting richer....... Surprise, surprise!
The average age for someone dying has dropped considerably.
The number of unavoidable deaths has risen.
THE waiting lists are at record levels.

Never mind the abuse of public money and the individual crimes against the people of this country.

Never trust a tory, and for good reasons.
And don't get drawn into reform limited company.

The country is broken, don't expect miracles.

But I don't understand - the plan is working. Jimmy Dimly said so this very morning. Rejoice and cheer up my good man. Alternatively, enjoy the peace of the garden, get as mad as hell but stay focused and kick 'em out. Hit them where it hurts: right in the ball - ots :D

Sunak, and the other ministers, ex ministers, who are pushed onto our screens are the 'front' of the tories.
They are the puppets of the power behind the 'front'!
This can be the only reason they troll out the lies they tell.
The racists and bigots, the gammons that spout the vile tropes behind them.
Would be to much for any reasonable person.
Never mind the minority ethnic groups.
The power is far right wing, which is why centrist tories have gone.
And this means that Farage is far worse for any decent person.

As for reform limited company. These are the tories that are not wanted cos they are fascists, neo nazis in disguise.

Dr death, aptly named, has ripped the country a new one, he really doesn't care, he is made for life. And will soon be heading out with his fortune, to warmer climes. I hope he doesn't enjoy it!
He should be in nick!

Although not religious, I'm praying that it is all over for them all.
Do not forget the tories are all in compliance with the state of this country, every last one of them.

Did you believe my first paragraph?
This is what they tell you.
Remember Brexit and the unicorns?
Nothing but cons and lies.
Yeah, kick them in the ball...ots!
