What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a decidedly damp start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Journey home yesterday - train to London, tube, Train to Darlington, train to Saltburn - just enough time to pick up meds from pharmacy before bus arrived. No respite; unpack, laundry on and then some shopping to be done. No need to water any plants, it’s raining. Mrs Miggins arrives back from Spain early evening so something to organise for dinner. Art bit - still squirrelling away on this rock thing. Hope you are all OK, no chance of catching up really - @lindisfel - hope that there was no damage after your fall. There is a new pack of koffy to sample this morning so best get on with it.

Morning all from L.A. where I can't categorise the weather - neither wet nor dry, warm nor chill, dull nor bright. Confused, downbeat, hoping for something better - Y'all know where this is going. Heating engineer beavering away for the last day. Hot water was working by close of play yesterday so JKP luxuriated in the shower this morning while I fed the dogs and - probably shouldn't have but s-o-d it - vacuumed and made tea. Being above ground and having basic functionality is a rich blessing. Some research yesterday afternoon then a punt on some wearables to hold dressings in place plus more UV protective clothing as the sun is now to be avoided or at least well/carefully kitted out for. @dunelm busy times up there beyond the wall - red or blue - so thanks for revealing more of that reliably solid edifice. Y'all take care now, ya hear. One way or another the fireworks here late Thursday night/early Friday will be amazing.

6.4 this morning
In the garden tidying up the bushes.
Thought you might like this beauty
And more lilys.

I have not stopped today. From when the bin men came passed at 7am and stopped the traffic dead. Cos cars that were trying to get past couldn't.
Can't wait for the return journey the other side of the road.

Mrs L joined me downstairs, as she thought that it was 7pm.
I got her morning tablets down and with a bit of breakfast, got her back to bed.
Gave me a chance to get things done.

tories and media (for some reason) now really desperately trying. And to deliberately tell a few fibs, to forget the last fourteen years.
Even making things up, to frighten the public that anything other than them can be good for the country.
My question for that is.......
Why haven't they been doing it for the last fourteen years?

Anything must be better for the majority.
So it's use your vote wherever you are, to get rid of this bunch, just don't vote for them, anyone else but them.
Let them be gone, for all our sakes.
Stop the tories.
Smash em to bits.

Let the fireworks start the start of a new era in our history.
And maybe, just maybe one day, people before profit.

In that case do what he - John O'Farrell - said:

OR vote for the others as is your perfect right but either way, vote. Just the once though however many mansions you own. Lovely photos of your garden. Attached is the view from what used to be (proper long shot) the "just about managing" blue wall. This Close and countless similar enclaves are oblivious to what the politicos have been banging on about for 6 weeks. The black bin on the path has been left early as neighbours have gone back to USA/Base/Defending people elsewhere. Put a blue rosette on it and it is a shoe in to replace Matt of the jungle (Nick Timothy almost certainly will actually)

nice neighbourhood.
no social housing there!
it is a typical area where the blue wall has been hit just as hard as the rest of the proletariat. And are paying out where it hurts. In taxes and lack of services. Plus the fact that a luxury item such as a new car, or a child needed to buy a place or the second or third holiday, or paying for a cleaner, or of course school fees, have risen so much, that for the first-time, they might have to wait.

I agree with Mr O'Farrel.

I once knew a John Farrell, a close friend and a major union organiser at my factory.
His political attitude of the times was always spot on.
It was he, who introduced me to Lord H when he was a minister for Liverpool.
He saw with his own eyes, what tory policies do to deprived areas.
And what the European union was delivering for the city.

Apparently greens will come second here.
1-400 betting odds, of Labour losing this constituency.

Stop the tories.

Let's just say it is not quite "what I'm accustomed to" - the clue is there are no gated drives. The majority of Brits here seem to think they've "arrived" but this isn't Cambridge/Hampshire/Surrey for example. The American officer class I've spent time talking to think what quaint little houses. As you say, these are the demographic who put this lot there and are utterly distraught now the inevitable has happened.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Now don’t get all excited tomorrow. Whomever crosses the line first will unleash their own specially colour coordinated bag of secrets on us all like all - and we think that living in ancient Egypt was bad enough.

I think there may well be some excitement for July 4th among our minders and a delicious "in your face" feel to the demise of the arriviste clique. What have Shapps, Dowden, Truss, Farage, Sunk and co to do with True Blue England - how many acres did their family own 400 years ago? One way or another their family were in trade :D

Thank you @gennepher for sharing your encounter with a Poplar Hawk-moth. Perhaps it was freshly emerged from its pupa and still a little unsteady.

All the Hawk-moths are striking beasties and some are truely exquisite, but because they are nocturnal, they tend to attract less comment than their smaller, day-flying relatives.

Tuesday's FBG 4.4 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.
I think you might be right, I think it was freshly emerged and consequently unsteady @LivingLightly
Once I realised it was not a bat that had attached itself to me, I could relax then...

I do that with my reading glasses @gennepher. I'm forever mislaying them, but I digress. Thank you for sharing an imaginative illustration. I'd like to climb to the brow of that hill. I want to know what is on the other side.

Tuesday's FBG 4.4 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.
Thank you very much @LivingLightly

The stone wall and steps are coming along nicely @dunelm

Fbg 7.0 this morning

A long, long day.
Exhausted now, not long got back.
No time this morning early to post...

Nighttime wildlife video
A Fox, then a Badger jumps on swing
This fox is new to my garden. She appears to be lactating, but her teats are not big so has she already weaned her kits? I don't know.
32secs

Creative...another tree study, using a large Japanese calligraphy felt tip pen...

Got a banging headache...a lot of lipreading today...the magnet in my head (for the cochlear processor) is aching a lot and feels sore. My head wants to bury itself under a rock, or in some ice. So I am unable to wear and practice with the new programming...going to sleep in a minute (if I can) it's 8.30 pm...

I am neither use nor ornament at the mo.

Sweet dreams...

Hug for the long, long day but winner for the amazing creative. I pray you sleep well.

Thanks @gennepher it would be a wondrous kaleidoscope.
Here you are @Lamont D
A kaleidoscope.
The 3rd photo worked best.
It is your photo, and so I have copyrighted it in your name. You can download and use/post this. It is quite a large file 1.2 MB so it takes a moment or two longer to download...
If you wish this to be a smaller file, I can do that too, just ask...
