What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 this morning at 6AM and no complaints there. Tested for a laugh at 0800 as skipped breakfast and it was 6.7!!! Looks like fresh air is carb loaded which was my only intake since getting up. Like others here still can't get to grips with the ups and downs of the readings, certainly for me remains a mystery as well.

Snapsies, @Keesha, 6.5 for me too, and this after yesterday’s depressing 8.0, I’m rather pleased with that. Carb and Fruit patrol must be the reason
Totally agree with the foodie explanation, I think my caterpillar and fruit bat diet has been the biggest help for me. Slightly concerned that once we go into the autumn/winter seasons and my diet cravings turn back towards pies, chips, curries etc and the salads go out of the window then so will my readings. Will need something to boost my will power and resolve as don't get my LTC until next March when it will reflect all the bad stuff.:(

Curries big on spices and non-carby sauces, with cauliflower rice, maybe sliced leeks for extra oniony oomph. Stews of any meat you like plus lots of non-carby veg. Pies without the crusts - make your own filling, add mushrooms, garlic if you like it, onion flavour again from thinly-sliced leeks and/or the green bits of sliced spring onions.

Any of that boost your willpower some? Have a look at our recipes section for more ideas.

Thanks for the ideas, I will take a look at suggested recipes. Never tried cauliflower rice mainly as not a great fan of cauliflower but always willing to give new stuff a go. Perhaps the veggie items will take over from the salads to add a bit of a filler obviously avoiding the potatoes which I do miss sadly. Thanks again.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?
sound interesting
I know its late to post the BG of the Morning now bot I will still do that was 5.5 its mostly like that by me

Good morning all. 8.3 yesterday and an amazing 6.3 this morning! Bedtime was 5.8 Lowest ever for years!! It's a mystery!!! :joyful:
Hello @RosemaryJackson.

Have you taken into account your fast the previous day? I believe you told us you didn't eat until 6 o'clock in the evening. That could have something to do with it.

Sounds to me like you are already talking yourself into coming off the wagon/having a ready made excuse/giving up?
However, winter is along way off and by then you will be surprised how your tastebuds and habits have changed. Winters no problem with hearty warming casseroles, stews, soups, toasted cheese, chocolate puddings warm from the microwave.
Ps when I first joined here I thought what these strange people were telling me I'd like were mad and crazy. Now I'm one of them and they were right! I had to force myself to have a tiny piece of next doors hm birthday cake tonight. I really didn't want it but when she offers it at the door, at 97, she's hard to refuse!

7.1 - Salutary reminded Uplift from yesterday’s sticky 6 due to a rather yummy sweet mango and some Couscous. Back on the Straight and narrow today via my Voting Station, gotta be done.

Now, go vote!
