What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Time passes quickly from last Sunday @JohnEGreen
I hope all goes well today xx

All over and done with now just have to wait for lab results.

Was in the hospital over 4 hours may take a few days to recover. Feeling exhausted so am of to bed bit early I know but best place for me right now.

You're lucky...12.9 here when the sun came out @Lamont D
I thought it was prudent to stay under my blankets in bed...
Very wise @gennepher.

No grandkids, cricket on youtube, great T20.
Lancs just about won, with a six, second to last ball.
And then I realised that it must be a bank holiday or something special, it's not my birthday.......
But for some reason many star trek films are abound on many channels.
I've put a do not disturb sign on my door to ward Mrs L off.
Tea offered at ad breaks.......

And my dream last night was extraordinary, even more than extraordinary.
I was released from my production line to offer my services to Starmer in his bid to help the programme to avoid obesity.......
I was on t.v., On YouTube, and on the news.
I was back on the pitch at Wembley, fa cup final, picking up an award for football services, but didn't recognise the Royal, or whatever he was.
I felt giddy and nearly fell out of bed.

Needed the loo!
Hot and sweaty, got back into my pit, Mrs L gave me a reminder to behave.

Have you ever experienced a single moment in time?
When everything stops in peace and serenity?

Only once!
And not a dream.

The happiness and joy we had been feeling over the riddance of the toxic government and the optimism and hope for a better future I’m afraid has been tempered for us somewhat today with the news that Judith’s sister has been diagnosed with Leukaemia a bit of a shock and rather upsetting.
Not good news, obviously @JohnEGreen.

Please be aware (you probably are) that leukemia is an umbrella term. There are many types of leukemia, including lymphoid, myeloid, chronic and acute and some patients achieve long term remission.

Sunday's FBG 4.6 mmol on waking at 6.00 am

It's when those Badgers have had an all night party (the mess) that I have to clear up after @ianpspurs
All the plants in the ground are the animals', they've made that clear. I do have hanging baskets which the badgers and foxes cannot reach, but the squirrels can reach and I discover I have a baby oak tree forest in them...
Yes, it's all good fun @gennepher.

I don't have badgers here in London, although they visit a friend of mine fairly frequently.

There's been another murder in my garden. Looks like the work of a sparrowhawk. The females have become skilled at knockng off wood pigeons. Only the beak and a pile of feathers remains.

5.4 this lovely sunny morning.
Yesterday was perfect relaxing day and I even got the chance to read my new textbook and go over a training video so have got some I interesting stuff to teaching classes this week.

Will catch up with posts later as I have a lovely long break today.

Good morning everyone on yet another all things bright and beautiful start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.9 this a.m. probably due to scratching an itch with some peanuts last night. Smashing walk yesterday. Lots of broad leaf Plantain going to seed - they have a similar effect as psyllium and some folk still collect the seeds and pound them into a form of flour. I like the young leaves in salads, bitter like some leaves available from a posh costermonger. Indications of a bumper crop of blackberries. A fun packed day ahead; Lung Health Check and then a double appointment at the dentist with the Painless Pole and his side kick Philomena Tooth-Filler and her juggling gargle pots. Sounds expensive but I might get a sticker. French elections - that’s gone really well - or not. There is a place in Whitby called Arguments Yard - I think that’s where the French Parliament will now sit. Art bit - decided that yesterday’s was finished so did another. Hope your day is a Monday. If not, it’s only a word on your pill sorter. Whatever, always remove stones from your shoes. Best get some koffy organised.

Fbg 6.6

Blue skies and sun this morning. Temperature 15C but still an icy wind...

Badgers were digging up my garden for worms last night. Loads of holes...not tunnels fortunately...
It seems like the neighbourhood's worms all live in my garden...neighbours all have tarmac, brick, paved type gardens...
The small birds (dozens, and flocks of them, like marshtits & longtailedtits, swoop in, no pesticides in my garden, and so they eat all the little bugs), blackbirds, wood pigeons, even the magpie are present all day.
The only thing I am short on is butterflies and bees and wasps. There are almost none this year.

Nighttime wildlife video
Two Badgers & Two Cats
The badgers dig for worms under the bird feeders....
The ginger cat is the newish ginger and white cat, he has been around a month now. But I have never seen him in daytime...
22 secs

Creative...a kaleidoscope in Laboscope app...
Some wisteria and lots of different shape leaves!

Have your best day

Time for a cuppa...

Wow, love this tree @dunelm
Liking this new series of trees...

Good morning all from L.A. on the ninth anniversary of my lifestyle change. How is that going? At least 1 skip full of boomslang skin, knotgrass and other weird ingredients thrown away. 700,000 hrs of JKP's life wasted forever cooking disgusting recipes -- yes Diet Dr I'm looking at you - folk here eulogise to the heavens. Hundreds of pounds spent on foods even 4 different dogs won't eat. Well over 25% of starting bulk gone forever, continually hungry and cold. Walked the legs off 1 pair of dogs, built and furnished a home gym. Now never without a Kg tub of crunchy peanut butter - no Palm oil, just nuts but defo not the smooth nonsense. Elsie Keto a person of interest in the really, really naughty issue BUT all A1c's sub pre-diabetes - last one in May was 33. To be totally honest I'm not sure if it has been good or bad for me. @dunelm thank you for the sketch which is evocative of something or other. I think my maternal grandmother had something similar hung on the wall of her "front room." @gennepher another simply amazing kaleidoscope - thank you. @JohnEGreen take it easy today and no wonder that fbg was as it was. Here, last night was the first for a month that I slept without any dressings on my torso. Very odd feeling but obviously cause to thank God. Y'all have as good a day as you can - oddly it is tea time here. 800 mls mug of Assam as per, which harks back to the start of this missive - my way of coping with the nonsense.

Well, that is brilliant, no dressings refusing to behave, floating around on your torso @ianpspurs

Thank you for the kaleidoscope compliment...

Thank you @gennepher. It is quite a significant day and some very odd sensations to which I need to adjust. I hope you have a restful day after a few weeks - ahem, years? - of stress. I may have been lucky with BP as I've so far not had any in my mouth, ears or "discreet areas" :D Thanks be to God. Psalms 39 and 40 seem very, very apt for me today - as is the thought of avoiding the emerods mentioned in 1 Samuel 5. I think God may have a real sense of humour to meet mete out that punishment to the Philistines.

Maybe He likes a laugh now and again. Certainly some of the shenanigens some of us get up to are risible without any intervention from Himself.

Glad that there has been some improvement in things for you Ian. Perhaps still far to go, but it is a small blessing.

Thank you @Annb. How are your family now and more to the point how are you and Neil? Apologies for not spelling mete correctly :arghh: I'll blame autocorrect, no one will know.

5.8 today at 03.30 but up to 7.0 by 06.00. Still a bit on the high side after breakfast but it will probably sort itself out during the day.

Alistair won't be working today. He finally has to succumb. He developed a toothache in a back tooth on Saturday which became unbearable by Sunday (worst pain he had ever suffered) so he went to A&E where they told him it was an abscess - took his tooth out, drained the abscess but diagnosed swollen glands and Eustachian tube. Gave him pain killers and antibiotics but he's really quite unwell. Unfortunately, Em and her Mum are stuck on the mainland so he's on his own.

They had gone to the mainland to pick up a new (2nd hand) electric car from East Kilbride and didn't make it back to Ullapool in time for the ferry. This week we have the HebCelt festival in Stornoway and tickets for the ferry are as rare as hens' teeth. The first crossing they could get was on Wednesday via Skye and Lochmaddy. That will get them to the southern isles and there is a small ferry to Leverburgh in Harris which will get them onto our Island. From there they will have an hour's drive to get home.

Just saw your last post Ian. Neil and I are both our normal selves - never perfect but getting by (and grateful for it). Thanks for asking.

Really good news - no dressings.
My favourite also - proper crunchy nut peanut butter - no palm oil.

Thanks @Krystyna23040. Still have dressings on legs and elbows but they are "tethered" JKP sourced some netting stockingette from China which the NHS can't/won't provide. As for food, I can eat Montezumas for example but unlike you, and many more, it and many favourite foods here are only ever to add calories not pleasure. This is about my wheelhouse for high % chocolate. Moot point if it is because it is Waitrose premium label or the actual taste. What can I say? Despite Naomi Klein I'm shallow and like labels. BTW excellent steer on Rohan. Good sales this summer - ignore Mr K for once and be like Viv Nicholson :D
