Glad the op is over and the outcome looks hopeful.

The only thing I remember of that kind of regime was visits from "Nitty Nora" which I actually enjoyed - I've always loved my hair/head receiving attention, like when my mother used to brush my hair for half an hour at a time - very enjoyable and relaxing. As good as a head massage. Probably more enjoyable because she never found any nits.

Sorry guys, I didn't respond earlier to your posts. I was so outraged by Gennepher's problems with her health"carers" that I could only deal with that in my mind for a while.
I hope you can get hold of your doc this morning about your mouth ulcers @Annb

Morning all on a day of chaos and hope here in L.A. The chaos is due to the lounge ceiling being replaced - no more artex or coving - at the expense of Zurich insurance, minus the standard water damage excess. I have disliked those features from day one but as at heart I only ever wanted to go quietly into that good night in modest comfort or do up and sell on then return to Cambs I didn't see the value. We were at the point of so doing when Truss struck. :arghh: There is also an electrician coming to replace lights in 2 bathrooms. When the plaster dries the builder will be back to decorate - next week. We have already had the heating and hot water system brought into the C21st so there must be some value added. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and all that food sounds deevine daahling, deevine. This piece appeared in the online Gaurdian last evening - worth a read and rumination over a hot beverage of choice, perhaps with a keto Californian blueberry muffin or similar. @jjraak is today a take it easy day? @Annb let's hope you can see a doctor quickly. Y'all have a great day

Thank you @ianpspurs and well done Zurich insurance for the big cough up. Interesting Guardian piece - fickle - nearly as bad as the folk in Leicester South voting on a whisp of a whim for someone who will now represent them for years.

Good morning everyone from damp squib Friday here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 this a.m. and already Mrs Miggins is up and out, travel mug of tea in hand. It’s get the Girl In The Bubble ready for school duty, an activity that looks initially like watching a zombie film due to the fact that Mrs Miggins is not usually an early riser. Not just because she needs to practice for the Team GB Rip Van Winkle sleeping team but her restless leg syndrome results in odd sleep patterns - well, not patterns - more sleep chaos. Wandered into town yesterday morning and had a koffy at a newly opened Italian koffy shop - superb. Bought a little chocolate filled pastry to bring home for Mrs Miggins. A bit cold last night so I made Sopa de ajo con huevos (garlic soup with eggs) - we really like this soup, very low carb apart from the thick slice of toasted sourdough (previously frozen) and so far no vampires have called. I have some very soft Spanish chorizo in the fridge so I suspect it will be something tapas tonight with tomatoes, roasted red onions and peppers. Art bit - still messing about with trees. Hope everyone finds at least some joy in the day. I best go and make some koffy, read my daily stoic and get going.
Loving this tree series @dunelm
Enjoy that coffee...

I hate artex too...it's been on the ceiling (and some walls) in every house I bought. I hope it'll be removed without too much mess @ianpspurs

Yes I believe in the power of prayer. So, thank you @Annb
I lose my way from time to time when too much goes wrong all at once. But when I get back on track again, I believe, and things start to improve, but not in ways I expected...I need to concentrate my thoughts on me going in next week and requesting blood tests and reviews...
Thank you Ann...
I do hope that they do the right thing and you do get your blood tests and reviews @gennepher.

Artex and coving seem to be "of an age." An age when taste fled the country or died. Crazy paving or different coloured patio slabs (or any patio slabs?) are from that sad period. I blame Thatcher - for almost anything, its a reflex. :D Flat white ceilings with spot lights seems to be more modern. The builders are very tidy and we are in the East wing aka kitchen diner: good job we knocked a wall down. It is the length of the house with a side door open and windows open both ends. Patio doors are open in the lounge. MIL is upstairs in her own little bubble. I imagine a similar job in your bungalow would require relocation for a few days. I too hope you manage to get your blood test reviews.

Hope the building work goes well today @ianpspurs and there is not too much chaos.

5.3 this morning.
Have lost 1lb of the 3lb I have got to lose which I am really happy that as it went surprisingly quickly.

I don't often do fad things that I read about on the internet but have started taking a spoonful of olive oil before bed for it's health benefits. I thought it would stall the weight loss but very interestingly it hasn't.

Next week is pencilled in for that...I want to get some paperwork together first...
It sounds very well organised at your end....

Interesting about the olive oil. I imagine the only person in the world who noticed those 3 lbs was you looking at the scales but you have managed to control your diabetes by being very focused. A phrase I like is when you get careless in a fight **it wins. Take care and enjoy Friday.

Thank you @ianpspurs

Organised - I would say blessed. The tea and coffee making facilities are here, there is a large tv with Sky here and the dogs are in here with us. We will probably watch the Killers of the Flower moon which is on Apple TV since Barclays kindly gave me free Apple TV and it is nice and long - I'd have preferred money back but hey ho.

I have loads of olive oil that I use for cooking eggs. The oil has never been implicated in weight gain. But then again I do not believe the human body is a calorimetry.
I certainly would never count calories.

Badgers & Foxes & Cats - Swing is busy tonight.

Creative...Kaleidoscope. in Laboscope app.
I still have some white dog daisies left!

Most of the flowering roses lost their petals quickly this year.
I now have the grand total of 2 pathetic looking apples on my apple trees. They won't make me a year's supply of free apple sauce. Nothing on my cooking apple tree, nor my pear tree, nor my cherry tree...
The badgers are eating all the edible berries within reach, faster than I can protect them...
Surely the countryside and the woodlands around me has enough food for them?

Slept well last night, still got fans, humidifiers etc going. Midnight is sitting on my lap getting the benefit as well.
I might as well have a short nap with him! Then play catch up.

The outside air is very still and muggy. Not a leaf is moving.

I have a gale force wind blowing through my bungalow with the aid of my fans! But I will close my doors and windows in a bit, because the air outside is not aiding any coolness in my bungalow.

Have your best day...

Thank you for sharing the amazing kaleidoscope. Shame about this year's crops. I think that may become a widespread issue for fruit and veg. Glad you are cooling that place but the weather this year is best described as odd.
