What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It's remarkable how felines adapt to the human occupants in their home @gennepher. Some years ago, I made the acquaintence of an elderly lady who was severely hard of hearing. She relied on her pair of Siamese cats to tell her when there was somebody at the door.

As a breed, Siamese are naturally vocal, (more talkative than your average moggie I would say) and they have a particularly loud 'miaow' when they want to gain your attention, so I was astonished when both her cats responded to the door bell by looking round to face her and mouthing miaow, mi-ee-aow. No sound came out!

Wednesday's FBG 4.6 mmol on waking at 6.00 am
Midnight has figured out that I can't always hear, so, sometimes when I have the sound processor on, I realise he only gives a silent miaow.... @LivingLightly

A busy little week.

A steady run of low 6's kept me in good spirits.

Eye uodate.

I had a large gas bubble in it, blocking my vision on day one.

And as each day passed, the bubble (like looking through a fish bowl)
Became smaller as it seemed the water in the fishbowl drained away.

Time frame was 2-12 weeks for it to dissipate.

Slightly worried as we fly again end of September
(Yes I know, but I over over over think things , now.
But I am trying not too )

Anyway, warning in Capital letters is "DO NOT" fly if gas bubble still present. ..eek

Well, i woke up Wednesday morning ..and all the bubble gone. Yehaww.

So had a little spring in my step yesterday.

Today back to hospital to get eye checked over (pressure test mentioned & eye drops ..yuk)

So I'm hoping the news is some more positives.

I'd say vision is at maybe 5‰ less than pre the operation.

But I'm only at day 14, and the estimate is up to a year to see full extent of any improvements...so early days still.

Right, must prepare.

Hope you all have as good a day as possible.

God bless

What a thing to happen! @Krystyna23040. Well done for tackling the matter asap. Let's hope that's the end of the affair.

Hopefully it is the end of the affair. Luckily they had given my address as the new company address and their home address for correspondence but Companies House and Revolut sent the correspondence to my address instead. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

Really great news that the has bubble had gone @jjraak

Indeed , a stroke of good fortune about that part, at least @Krystyna23040

A bit of a nightmare today. Got home from morning classes and opened a letter from companies house to confirm that a new company has been set up at this address also received a letter from Revolut to say that an account has been set up at this address for the new company.

Contacted Companies House who advised I contact Action Fraud. Have now got a crime number which I have passed to Companies House and Revolut. This has taken the whole afternoon. Very stressful. Off to classes now.
Well done for handling that so quickly and without panicking. I'm sure it must be a very disconcerting situation to have to deal with.

Morning all from a Whitney Huston start here in L.A. @Krystyna23040 good news on the way you handled that incident. It seems as though your classes were highly beneficial. @jjraak it sounds as though the eye is healing well and another adventure is on the cards. Excellent news in both cases. @dunelm if today is a travelling day best wishes for the journey. @JohnEGreen thoughts and prayers with you and your family. Something to hold onto:(although Nixon followed LBJ :arghh:

Not sure y'all can read this but it is a good account of what KH is up against

BG is going crazy today. Started reasonably (6.3) and rose, as it often does, to 8.1 but then (after I took my normal basal insulin) it dropped like a stone. I was in the shower when the Libre started creating because BG was 3.5 and, by the time I got out of the shower it was 2.5 and I was in a full blown hypo. Been struggling to keep it up ever since. Cancelled my appointment to get my legs bandaged because I thought I'd better not go out because it has been teetering on the edge of a hypo for the last 3 hours.

Add to that, both the Libre and my Accuchek meter are both playing silly games. Libre refusing to give a reading a couple of times and Accuchek giving me 6.6 when I was in a hypo. Just a moment ago the Libre warned me that my BG was over 8. I'll be keeping an eye on it today.

I was wondering if I had made a mistake and taken either a double dose of the basal insulin or a higher dose than I should have but I have no memory of taking it twice and the level in the pen looks about right for one correct dose having been taken.

Lots of carbs so far today to try to rein it in.

Glad that the bubble has dissipated and hope that your eyes continue to improve.

A funny for the song

Very appropriate for many days I'd say

It can't all be wonderful wonderful, so just taking joy where we can is definitely the best way to go .

Agree on biden and rest of your post .

And thank you for the positive thoughts .

Keep well .

I do hope so. Am also going on sites like Experian to check my credit rating.
I check with those sites too @Krystyna23040
In the 1990's when my kids left home, I got an unexpected letter saying money was owed and the bailiffs were coming in. I owed nothing (apart from my mortgage and that was up to date). Then I found it was one of my kids. They had discovered they couldn't borrow money for a purchase or two or more, because they hadn't lived long enough in one place, and had given my address without asking me.
Well, that was me ballistic.
I gave them all a rollicking.
They had all been doing it.
And I informed on them.
But we can't afford to pay it etc, bail us out...
Like heck did I do that.
You're on your own, I said, You never even asked me permission.
Oh, they hated me, other mums bail our friends out they said.
This mum doesn't because she doesn't have the money I said, (I was a single mum, and their errant father did s*d all, never even paid maintenance).

Son, has never borrowed money again in his life. He is nearly 50. He doesn't even have a credit card.
The two girls never borrowed again.

Since then I have checked with several of these places.
It has never happened again from the kids...

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement.

Hospital visit over.

Seen pretty rapidly.
(Waiting room packed with others mumbling about wait times, so maybe I was lucky ?)

Any way, eye drops in
Then a couple of Eye exams & scans
Then Eye Doctor checked as well.

Seems healing going well.

Back in 8 weeks for next check up

6 months to one year until healing ends and full progress known .

Very, very happy with visit today.....
