What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a disappointing start weather wise to the day here in L.A.. Too grey and humid to be a classic summer's day especially after the recent days from central casting. Today is a Christian feast celebrating the Transfiguration of Jesus. I like words, and justified hope not hype. Shekinhah (not the singer) glory isn't widely used so my day is good to go with that. @JohnEGreen I hope the appointment goes well despite the daunting sounding speciality. @Krystyna23040 really good news from Resolut. @dunelm I'm glad your day started well and thank you for sharing your art. Very self deprecating to label a piece so pleasing on the eye as blobs of ink. @gennepher hug - virtual not heating real ones - for the heat and hydration issues but winner for being resourceful in dealing with both. Meanwhile this is interesting in that I find Elsie Keto is primarily a very restrictive nutrient/mineral challenged weight loss program - which nonetheless appears to have managed my T2 - but I know many here were never in the BMI ranges identified. Your day may not be perfect as now we only see darkly. I may not be on Mount Tabor yet - not even Keely Hodgkinson and her ilk are (please God can my corruption wait until at least the real L.A.games) but we are granted glimpses, a mirth now and again. Enjoy yours today if/when they come.

9.35am FBG 5.7 been up several hours but not eaten yet.
The horde arrive later on today. Daughter and all four children.
Cool and cloudy atm which is definitely the best travelling weather. They are coming via the tunnel so a five hour drive once they disembark. Have been instructed to produce meatballs and spaghetti for dinner.
Meanwhile have about a kg of butter beans to Blanche and freeze. Cake, Courgette and chocolate to bake. Shopping needed as well.
Some repotting and rearranging of tomatoes, which are currently living in pots where the hot tub has to go. Hasn't been used for two years.
Busy day.

Busy day ahead for you - hence the hug - but the potential joy of family should be sublime.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, fish eaters, flower fanciers and hospital attendees.
A 5.7 on the meter this Tuesday morning.

Strange old world we live in these days, I’ve managed to live 70+ years, but it seems that I am now persona non grata to the younger woke generation. In my eyes it’s their loss.
Later I shall be wearing my taxi drivers hat as I drive my washing machine and idiot box remote control operative to the local hospital for a follow up on her broken wrist. I shall join all the other chauffeurs, lamenting the state of the roads, price of fuel, weather and the demise of the foot the ball coupons.

Time to depart, I am being summoned and not by the courts, but by Mrs J.

Have a great day, smile sweetly and bark at the postman.

Busy, busy, but surely you will be able to stop and enjoy your visitors later today. Try not to be as exhausted as they most likely will be after the log day travelling.

The younger generation don't know what they're missing.

Good morning everyone from a deliciously quiet start to a bright and sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 again this a.m. My meter thinks it’s Lionel Richie singing Stuck on You. Some rain last night. So that’s the garden sorted. Art bit - blobs of ink. My day is already a good one, maybe yours also. I do need some koffy.
Absolutely love your blobs of ink...fantastic @dunelm

Thank you Ian...I am more mindful today of making sure the water consumption is done more evenly throughout the day. ..

6.8 this Tuesday gardening day. Have spent the day, mowing, weeding, cutting, pruning, spraying and tidying.
Other ings, but that is between Mrs L and myself.
No! Behave!

Going for a shower, then kitchen duties, some pork chops are getting a grilling.

Impressed with some of our Olympians, but so impressed by others.
Hundred not impressed!!!!
Saturday and the season starts. Not really missed it, but no doubt all my preconceptions about doing well, will be smashed to smithereens by the beginning of September.
What is a smithereen?
Not weaved.
But a youth who played for my team when I was coaching them, his nickname was Weavy.
I asked.

Catch you lot later!
Mrs L requires my presence.

Pork chops getting a grilling - hopefully not like a scene in Basic Instinct.
“Smithereens," first appearing in English in 1829 as "smiddereens," is likely derived from the Irish word smidirín or smidiríní, meaning "fragment." [I did look it up]

Fbg was 7.1...I think...

I had a couple of messages to do this morning, and a parcel I was expecting late this week came yesterday, and so I decided to go and pick that up.
But I was late in leaving as I didn't have a good night. So, by the time I got back, I needed lunch and an afternoon siesta...

So no time now to experiment with my new brushes and stuff...and so Creative is a side shoot of teasel against the blue sky shot with Laboscope...I rather like it...

Nighttime wild life video
A Badger & then a Fox jumps up on the swing
24secs

Time for an afternoon coffee...
Have your best kind of day...
Mine is taking it easy for the rest of the day...
