Blood sugars this morning were 5.8

Our youngest grandson had a sleep over at Tilehurst Towers last night and at this precise moment in time is playing Mrs J at snakes and ladders, earlier this afternoon he soundly beat me at mastermind something like 4 - 0 . This morning he played Mrs J at dominoes, Mrs J who takes no prisoners won that.

Hopefully, attached is a picture of the dominoes, which I made some time ago and their storage box. I always use bright primary colours when making items for children.

Just realised I haven't posted FBG. It was 5.8 this morning.

Busy day today but am relaxing in my dentists waiting room at the moment.
Just here for a check up. My dentist is in the Norwich Lanes and I do love walking through them.
Also will have time for a coffee before evening classes.

Over my years on here I've read many times that local high street butchers make Elsie Keto a cheaper way to eat. In Cambs and here in West Suffolk proper butchers are scarce and imho poor value and quality. Squeezed out between these places and supermarkets. This was our nearest local butcher cum farm shop back home. Our first grandchild loved going there - so did we. The zoo makes this unique but otherwise it is typical of the outlets for vegatables, non supermarket meat, poultry, game and sometimes ( much more limited) exotic meats in both areas (Cambridge's most aspirational - no lions, no buffalo). Among other things I miss we can’t source similar buffalo/bison steak anywhere. We’ve visited a few other so-called aspirational places, as seen on TV, from Winchester to North Wales. None come close and the one that boasted about the buffalo was nowhere near as good but much more expensive. Not exactly a traditional butcher's shop, though pigeon and rabbit were cheap enough, but that does cloud my judgement of all others. Seeing a real lion, some crocs and other animals when buying your Sunday roast beats the high street every time for me. I don’t recall playing the yes no interlude to win the best price there but they do cut chickens in half, cut rabbits in portions and remove breasts from pigeons.

Cooler outside here at the moment, but my bungalow is still full of very warm air with the doors being closed all night.....
None of the cats, not even even Midnight will stay in this bungalow during a hot spell. Even my cats from years ago would disappear for a period of time during a hot spell, and would not enter this bungalow, not even for food...
Why?
Does anyone else's cats do this during a hot spell of weather? I don't ever recall this ever happening when I lived in a house.

Once, in Nairobi we went to The Carnivour. Question of the day by our dad to my brother, “is all this organic?” Aldi and Lidl do some Intersting cuts of ostrich and such and there aged for who knows how long steaks are tolerable. Not as good as at at The entrecote in Bordeaux, but tolerable. There is a Tomahawk restaurant in town - I no likee. Just down the road from us is This - and they deliver.

don't go in for weird meats, not that he doesn't sell them.

I have yet to see footage of hordes looting organic sourdough from Waitrose or Gail's bakery. There is also some truth in the attached, deliberate or accidental is a moot point, from the Metro which echoes this piece - Forward he cried from the rear and the front rank ……. were imprisoned. The upshot is services/life is fine hereabouts - apples continue to fall in orchards. Of course this all has a direct impact on managing The D and every other condition - you can't out diet inadequate medical services. Take care.

We have only one bakery in Lewis. They make the worst bread I have ever tasted and the worst cakes I have ever seen. Just as well I don't eat bread or cakes these days. Never did eat theirs after a first try. Bread is available in the supermarkets and so are cakes, but, again, not what you would find in an artisan bakery.

Yes @gennepher there's a shortage of some naturally occurring bird foods in July and August and, following a successful breeding season, there will be extra beaks to feed!

Morning all on an enigmatic start to the weather here in the riddle that is neither The Brecks nor The Fens - it just "is." @JohnEGreen hug for the fbg level but bearing in mind the stress of your family loss and ongoing medical issues sub double digits seems like a podium finish. Thoughts and prayers with you. Mid-morning face to face at Addenbookes (CUH)* (see attached) and presumably feedback from the CT scan several weeks ago. Not gonna lie, only a complete clownshoe would ignore how badly that could turn out. No amount of faith could or should stop my mind from going there. My times are in God's hands - always were, always will be. Hope for the best - stable - prepare for the worst. Prayers appreciated but mine produced a nicely lowered resting heart rate, target sleep length and sleep score. Presumably Elsie Keto (mackerel in EVO salad last evening, 3 tsp EVO in dressing, <30 gms daily carb) may have played a part but colour me (very) sceptical. Could be a Starbucks and Mothership Waitrose Trumpington day. Waitrose have the best meaty spare ribs I've found anywhere. Enjoy your own version of super salmon salad day. Psalm 46 was a good start to mine.

Good morning everyone on a cool and breezy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.5 this a.m. The local knitters and clackers have changed the topping on the post box in the high street. Always gives folk a smile, well those that actually do observe what is beyond the end of their noses. Hidden in plain sight springs to mind. Lunch went well yesterday 12 of us, including 4 tiny people accompanying a smattering of grandparents - what fun! Brought half of my lunch home with me - far too much but not going to waste a pretty good piece of gammon. No idea what we are doing today so whatever it is will be a lovely surprise. As my granny used to point out when out on a day trip, “there’s a view round every bend.” Art bit, whatever residue is presently in my mixing dishes and a dab of ink. Hope the sun shines on at least some of your day. I need to make a cafetière of koffy and then have a video chat with my mother.

I don’t do prayers but will contemplate on your wellbeing and for a good outcome. Waitrose spare ribs sound marvelous. If only we had leveled up in order to have deserved such an emporium of wonder. Biofuel power stations throw out more pollutants than coal power stations - who knew!
